Kay Caye is a wonderful beach getaway with unequal views of the Gulf of Mexico, a large covered deck for socializing outside, huge space under the house to enjoy the shade and grill, and have a refreshing outdoor shower - a big hit with beachgoers! The sizeable kitchen has all you will need for hosting your vacation in style. Downstairs you will appreciate covered parking, a handy sand shower, and a charcoal park-style grill.
Crystal Beach is a 15-minute ferry ride to Galveston, TX, which offers every available amenity, to include theaters, shopping, amusement and swim parks, Moody Gardens, the Strand, and other historical adventures like the Grand 1894 Opera House, the Bishop's Palace, and the Moody Mansion. Three cruise ship lines (Carnival, Royal Caribbean, and Disney) operate from Galveston, allowing you to extend your cruise vacation with a stay at the beach. Birding is also a major attraction, check out several of the National Wildlife Refuges in the area through the Texas Parks and Wildlife website.

The house is very nice; this is the third time we've stayed there. Even though there were 9 of us this time, it still did not feel crowded. I must have missed the half-bath, though; don't remember seeing one. It's certainly not upstairs.Recommended for: Girls getaway, families with young children, age 55+, families with teenagers.

We enjoyed the weekend intended for a girls' getaway and when the weather turned blustery and cold, we found a new way to enjoy the setting! Having the opportunity to enjoy the area in a new perspective, we were happy to know the warm, cozy house was just a few steps away! We lounged in comfort, enjoying the view and peace and quiet. The kitchen was well stocked with cooking and entertaining supplies, the beds comfy, and the porch looked inviting though we did not use it. The entire area has been redone in vibrant colors since the hurricane, and it emanates a sense of happiness and fun!Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, families with young children, pet owners, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

Great Beach House! My Friend and I loved it. Very Spacious, anything you might need it's there. Kitchen is awesome, so is the rest of the House. We did not sit outside because it was very cold but it was sunny and the View great!!!! Thank you so much for letting us stay.Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, families with young children, pet owners, age 55+.

This was an amazing vacation! It was my first time surfing and I loved it. This house was awesome also. I slept in the bunk beds and it was fun. Thank you for letting us all stay in this house. About the owner: As newlyweds, Dawn and I are raising her wonderful son here in Houston. I am a corporate environmental engineer and Dawn is an Administrator for a pediatric home health care company. I have lived in Texas since 1987. We have a lot of family here and we all love going to Crystal Beach. When the house is rented and we are not using it; we enjoy going to baseball games, shopping, and planning the next getaway vacation for the year. We hope you love your time in Crystal Beach as much as we do.
Why the Owner Chose Crystal Beach:
I helped Dawn finish construction of Luna Bella, then Hurricane Ike heavily damaged the home and we had to go through the building process all over again. After this project, I wanted to be able to help Bring Bolivar Back. So, I bought a lot and built Kay Caye. Its floor plan is similar to Luna Bella's, so we now have the choice of two homes to enjoy in Crystal Beach - IF they're not rented. Kay Caye is close to the GCM Big Store, so it's very convenient in case you need anything from the grocery/hardware store.
