Upscale, Modern-Rustic Cabin One Mile from Yellowstone!
- Minimum stay:N/A
- Internet:Yes
- Pets allowed:No
- Wheel chair accessible:No
The first floor of this new, custom-built cabin is a very open floor plan with a large kitchen, a living area, and a breakfast nook. The breakfast nook protrudes from the main body of the cabin, and from this cozy room you can sit and enjoy great views of the Absaroka Range (see photo) while enjoying your coffee in the morning. The living space has a leather sofa-bed couch and two recliners, and in the corner is a warm gas fireplace which heats the cabin quickly. The kitchen is a full kitchen with all stainless appliances, black walnut countertops, and a bar with three diner chairs that swivel for the kids! The attached laundry room on the first floor is available for guest use from the hours of 4pm to 8am.
The upper floor has two bedrooms, with a queen bed in each, and each bedroom has stunning views. A full bath is upstairs also (with shower and bathtub). When you reach the top of the stairs there is a reading nook with a large window. This nook is designed to be a seating area in addition to an extra space for sleeping, and holds a double bed. This is the premiere spot to gaze at the mountains.
The cabin was built with the environment in mind; it is very well insulated (foam insulation exceeding county requirements), has a Rinnai 'hot water on demand' unit, which heats water only as needed, and offers endless hot water at the same time. The interior has dual-flush toilets saving on water, and it is painted with no-VOC paint and we used low-VOC finishes. All of our exterior siding was purchased from a local mill. We also clean our cabins with products that are not harmful to the environment, and wash our linens with eco-friendly laundry soap.
We are right in the town of Silver Gate, and you can walk out the door and hike to two different waterfalls. And whatever you do, don't pass on a meal or two from the 'Log Cabin Cafe' just across the street. The food there is fresh, local, healthy, and very well-prepared.
We also have a smaller cabin adjacent to this one; listing #237646.

Accommodation is good, location is excellent to visit the park especially for people willing to stay in Lamar Valley A few more items like wine glasses would be appreciated to really feel home and give a cosier atmosphere.Recommended for: Sightseeing.

We spent 3 nights in August here and absolutely fell in love. The cabin is clean, cozy, brand new and well-designed, even better in person than in the photos. Comfortable for the 4 adults and 5 kids we had in our crew! Essentials are available at the general store and good eats at the Log Cabin Cafe. Not to mention that you are about a one minute drive from the entrance of Yellowstone! Highly recommended, will definitely be coming back.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, adventure seekers.

We stayed at the larger of the two Lamar Valley Cabins as part of our visit to Yellowstone, and the entrance to the park is only about a mile away. Spacious, comfortable, super-clean cabin with better beds and appliances than I have to use at home, designed with nooks and crannies to get away in and large, open spaces for groups. This place is absolutely perfect!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, adventure seekers.

Our family had a grand time at the Lamar Valley cabin. Everything about it was top notch. Excellent detail on the living areas made for an interior that was almost as pleasant as the surrounding landscape. Everywhere you look it is evident that the builder's had an eye for detail. It was built for the long haul as all the hardware is first quality. The kitchen was well laid out, and spacious, as were the bedrooms. The views from the dining nook are outstanding. What a great spot for breakfast, reading, or a family board game. This is a cabin our family would not hesitate to visit again in the future. We are looking forward to many more trips here.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, adventure seekers.

What a great place to stay! The cabin was very big! The pictures do not do the cabin justice! It was like being at home but with a beautiful mountain view. Great place to stay for animals. We saw a moose 100 yards from the cabin as well as deer and mountain goats up in the mountains surrounding the cabin. The cabin was 5 minutes away from the NE ewntrance into the park which was great. The owners had a helpful notebook waiting for us with information about the area and things we would want to know. We would stay there again in a heartbeat!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, adventure seekers.

We stayed in Silvergate for 4 nights and absolutely loved this house. Very spacious, enough privacy for 2 couples. We loved the mountain views, the wildlife (moose in the front yard), falling asleep looking at the stars. It is so close the the entrance to the park, it only take 1/2 hour to get to the heart of the Lamar Valley where we saw tons of wildlife including wolves, grizzlies, elk, bison, mountain goats, bighorn sheep, pronghorn, eagles, osprey...It was nice to be able to eat at the house and do wash at night, rather than sit in a laundromat. The house is beautifully done, very tasteful, very comfortable and clean. I almost hate to give such a good review...I want to be sure they have an opening next time we want to visit!!!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+, girls getaway.

Wow, if you haven't seen this corner of Yellowstone, it is the perfect place to be! It's quiet, especially Silver Gate, and the mountains are so majestic! For us it was easily the most beautiful, least populated, and had the most wildlife of any other section of Yellowstone. I found the cabin to be extremely clean, and everything worked perfectly. So nice to come home and read in the breakfast nook (which is not pictured, but it's the sticks out from the front of the cabin surrounded by windows with AMAZING VIEWS). The beds were extemely comfortable and seemed brand new... quality linens too. I can honestly say that this house was better than pictured or described. Our vacation was a dream. Thanks Karen and Jeff for sharing your piece of paradise!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, adventure seekers.

The Unique Benefits at this Cabin:
Just out the back door is a wonderful one-mile hike to a small waterfall. Across the road is charming log cabin restaurant, the 'Log Cabin Cafe,' where you can enjoy trout dinners and wonderful home-cooked breakfasts. We will often look out the window to find a bison grazing on the property, or find bear tracks in the morning, or enjoy a visit from a little red fox we call 'red.' But best of all....it's less than a mile from the Serengeti of the West...Yellowstone!
