This location was ideal for our group of seven women friends after our 45th college reunion. Its location on the Wisconsin side of Lake Pepin was a short drive from the Twin Cities and allowed us easy access to many of the sites around the Lake. The house was clean and well stocked. We especially liked the abundance of sleeping spaces. The owner was responsive to our request for heat (in June!) - the summer cooling settings were in place, but we arrived on a rainy, cool day. This was a very comfortable, pleasant home. We enjoyed our stay.Recommended for: Age 55+, girls getaway, sightseeing.

We visited Pepin for Laura Days, the annual festival celebrating Laura Ingalls Wilder. The home was clean, comfortable, and perfect for our needs. It's centrally located, allowing us to walk to anywhere in Pepin. We will definitely consider a return trip!Recommended for: Families with young children, adventure seekers, sightseeing.

We stayed at the Pepin Cottage over Thanksgiving '11 and had a wonderful stay. We had stayed at the hotel/motel in town and my wife was disappointed. We had found the Pepin Cottage on the Explore Wisconsin site and decided to book it. My wife was wowed as from the moment we unlocked the door. We had our two 1 year old and found the place to be perfect and exactly what we wanted/needed. We only had 2 adults, 2 toddlers staying here, but we could have had one whole side of the family staying there. We will definitely return when we come back to Pepin to visit! The owner was very helpful with ensuring we had what we needed and great communication to get us set up. Highly recommended!Recommended for: Families with young children, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, adventure seekers, sightseeing.

Our family came up to Wisconsin for our daughter's wedding and decided to rent a home instead of several hotel rooms. Best idea EVER. The house is beautiful, warm and cozy and had everything we needed. We had 11 people staying the night before the wedding and accommodations worked out wonderfully and felt like home.We were there for 6 days and even got to give out candy on Halloween which was lots of fun.Everything was in great working order, house was immaculate and if we couldn't find something, we called the owner who was very helpful. The one drawback that we found was that there was a distinct smell of dog feces when we went out on the back patio. We did visit a few places in town and got a warm reception. We will definately stay here again on our next visit to Wisconsin and will recommend it to family and friends. Our family that stayed with us was also impressed. Thank you so much.Recommended for: Families with young children, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing.

What a wonderful fall weekend get-away my visiting relatives and I had. The cottage is spacious, clean and very charming. The home is walking distance to the town or Pepin, and the neighborhood is very pleasant. We had the best time enjoying the food at Harbor View Cafe and taking a sailboat cruise of Lake Pepin. In the nearby town of Stockholm, we enjoyed the quaint shops, and a wonderful bakery. We visited an apple orchard in Maiden Rock. This beautiful home nestled in this precious nook of the midwest is a treasure.Recommended for: Families with young children, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, sightseeing.

We had a delightful time at Pepin Cottage. The Cottage and town could be out of a storybook. We had a comfortable stay and appreciated the great communication with the owner. The Cottage has all the amenities of home including wireless internet, satellite tv, washer and dryer, etc. The towels are wonderful (just had to add that in) and there are books, games, and movies for guests to enjoy. Our kids (age 5 and 8) did not want to leave, they loved it and said it was 10 times better than any hotel! The cottage was clean, well maintained and was cozy and comfortable! The town is picturesque with lovely sights, the lake, the shops, restaurants, etc. We can't wait to come again.Recommended for: Families with young children, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, sightseeing.

Last fall, at a silent auction for a favorite charity, my husband and I bid on and won a weekend at a cottage in Pepin. We didn’t quite know what to expect, although the pictures on the brochure made the cottage look inviting. Finally, this August, we and most of our family, including 5 teenage grandchildren, were able to spend a weekend at the Pepin cottage. What a delightful time we had. Our teenage granddaughters claimed the lower level bedroom, and it became their haven for the weekend. Our grandsons took the room with bunk beds. One daughter and son-in-law slept on the living room couches, and my husband and I enjoyed the beautiful master bedroom. But having sleeping quarters for up to 10 people was only the beginning of what made the cottage and the weekend special. The cottage itself was clean, comfortable, well-equipped, and totally charming. Lovely woodwork; an eclectic but tasteful variety of artwork; shelves with inviting books, games for all ages, a good supply of DVDs; a beautiful fireplace; a kitchen supplied with all one could need; and so much more made us realize, even during our initial perusal of the cottage, that we were glad we had come. Pepin itself was a delight, especially if one enjoys the quiet joys of small towns. We walked the tree-lined streets, sat on rocky outcroppings near the marina and watched sail boats, visited ice cream shops, ate a few casual meals in local restaurants, and thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of the experience. The grandchildren went swimming and several fished from the shore or rocky areas near the marina. The lake was only a few blocks and an easy walk from the cottage. The lake itself is magnificent, large and beautiful. And the serenity of the scene was broken only by the thrill of seeing bald eagles soaring, occasionally diving for fish, and then soaring again. We spent our evenings in the cottage watching movies in the living room or playing games around the kitchen table. We laughed a lot and decided that the best part of all was the sweet fellowship of our family gathering together just to bask in the beauty of God’s creation, the lovely cottage, and the pleasure of being family. Afterwards, I made a small collage of pictures I took while we were in Pepin; I framed it and it sits on our kitchen counter as a reminder of the special weekend we spent in Pepin.Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway.

Why the Owner Chose Pepin:
We chose Pepin as a vacation destination because it is the most friendly town in Wisconsin, the scenery is awesome all the time; there is so much to see. The local merchants are visitor friendly. We have numerous great restaurants. We are close to the Twin Cities and all of southern towns in Wisconsin and Minnesota. Pepin and the surrounding communities have numerous events 12 months of the year, which have an appeal to artists, those who enjoy film, fishing, boating, cross-country skiing, snowmobiling, eagle watching and much more. The 'Laura Days' activities in September offer great enjoyment for kids.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
Our home is situated in a quiet neighborhood. If listening carefully, you can hear a train whistle in the far distance. The home is very uniquely designed. Everything is very 'custom,' from the ash inlaid cathedral ceiling to the stainless kitchen in custom hardwoods. The home is a true work of art. You can enjoy a easy 3 block walk to the boat harbor and all of the local shopping. Several eating establishments are within 2 blocks. AND, if you come in by boat, we have local transportation from the boat harbor to our home for you and your luggage.
