Suite was very private and romantic. Location was perfectly centered to rest up at the end of an eventful day. Comfortable bed and big shower. We didn't want to leave.

We had a great time in Savannah! The location of the home is great! However the house was disappointing. The pictures on the vrbo site were misleading. The outside of the home was much more run down than the pictures showed. The beds were comfortable and clean, but the rest of the home was not. We did not want to sit on the living room furniture as it was so dirty. Windows, blinds, sills and baseboards were in need of a good clean. Floors also were dirty. Finally we found a large "friend" in the kitchen broom closet. We paid a lot of money to stay in the home and left feeling disappointed.

Owner response: Have you ever dined out and saw a customer complain to the waiter that their meal was not satisfactory even though their plate had been licked clean? Well, that is how I feel about this review. Upon check in the guests (all middle age females) informed me everything was fine and did not mention any concerns. I had made special arrangements with one of the husbands to receive a package shipped to his wife since she was gone over Valentine's Day. Hind sight is 20/20 as he did warn me that these ladies were a 'rowdy' bunch. That was an understatement as they proceeded to break furniture, stain seat cushions to where they had to be recovered, shatter glass on slate flooring, ruin light fixtures...need I say more. I have an extensive claim filed for the damage done to the home and suspect they were looking for some type of credit or refund. I would simply ask each potential guest to reference the other reviews as they speak for the grandeur and cleanliness of the home itself.

We stayed here in December for a family gathering and it was absolutely wonderful! It is a very nice house with plenty of space and within walking distance to City Market & River Street. The ONLY flaw is all the action that the fire department gets during the night, but if you visit Savannah correctly - that shouldn't matter too much. We had such a nice time sitting on the porch and enjoying the world going by and enjoying the town. I would absolutely recommend this house to anyone and will hopefully be able to come back myself. The owners are very responsive and friendly and we had absolutely no issues. Thank you for allowing us to stay in your wonderful home!

The location of the home to the historic district is what appealed to me the most. Being able to park the car off the street and save on meters was a huge plus. My friend and I drove to Savannah and did not drive once while we were there. All the walking sure paid off considering how much we ate while visiting Savannah (ha!). The home was clean and there were extra clean linens and towels. Kathleen, you were such a pleasure to work with and my friend and I were both glad we got to meet you before we left. Thanks again!

My girlfriend and I stayed in the lowest level of this wonderful home for St. Patrick's Day week. The location is spectactular especially during this holiday week. There are a lot of restaurants/pubs close by and we walked to River Street every night to eat/drink. The home is clean/nice and the owners are very easy to work with. The parade comes right next to your porch so you can't beat this location. Savannah is a beautiful city with a great vibe and we'll be back to stay here in the near future! If you come to Savannah, check out live music by the "Hit Man". Unbelievable guitarist.

When was the last time a tourist took pictures of your hotel room? When we looked through the blinds and saw a family taking pictures on the little bench outside, we knew we made a great choice staying here! All my buddies in town for the wedding agreed, and everyone had a great time meeting here throughout the trip. Highly Recommended!

My husband and I stayed in the garden suite for 5 nights the beginning of October. We found Savannah to be a beautiful city & the weather was absolutely perfect during our stay. The property is in a great location and is definitely within walking distance of River Street, the squares, etc. The suite is accurately portrayed in the pictures on this site, and is a definite upgrade from a generic hotel room. As some reviews previously state, you are at the mercy of heavy-footed upstairs neighbors and the fire dept next door for noise, but these weren't overly bothersome to us.. If we found ourselves back in Savannah, we would return to this suite.

My main issues with this property: the door from the outside opens up into the bedroom, the doors to the courtyard are bolted closed, and you do not have access, the pictures showing chairs on the porch - are on the level above - not likely that a person renting the garden level would use those and was misleading when I reviewed the pictures of the property. There is a trip hazard from the tv which is on the fireplace - the cable hangs down and goes around the corner to the opposite wall. For only 1 sink in the bathroom, there are not enough dishes for people staying 3 days. There was not much natural light. The bed was visibily lumpy, and not very comfortable. On the positive - it was very clean and nicely decorated. The location was nice - halfway between the river and the Forsyth Park.

Owner response: Our historic home is for the discerning traveler who's willing to spend money on vacation and enjoy the good life! With so many wonderful eateries in Savannah who doesn't want to take advantage of our Southern cuisine. Our kitchenette offers our guests refrigeration for leftovers, beverages and such, an area to reheat the leftovers or simple heat and serve dishes, and we offer a gourmet coffee bar with beans that are roasted locally. Additionally, we offer a 10% discount to our guests at our cafe which serves breakfast, lunch & brunch on the weekends. It's less than 2 blocks from the home and all the meals are prepared fresh by our C.I.A. chef daily! After a long day of sight seeing a good night's rest can be guaranteed with our luxury linens, firm mattress and feather bed where you'll be whisked off to sweet dreams. Wooden blinds offer ample natural light, but alas there's plenty of track lighting as it was formerly an art studio. If you are looking to have access to a private courtyard & bubbling fountain then we recommend you consider renting the upstairs of the home which offers such amenities! Although, if you're simply looking for a place to enjoy a glass of wine and watch the oaks sway, then look no further than the bench on the street level covered porch!

This was the second time we have stayed at this property. It is a wonderful place to stay, great location, very clean, owners are very friendly wonderful family. Both times we have been in Savannah, were each for just a short time, we definitely plan to go back for a longer visit and hope to stay here again. I would most definitely recommend for anyone to stay. Location is close to much of what Savannah has to offer. While in Savannah, you will definitely want to visit the Riverwalk area, and just walk, walk, walk, all over the downtown area. So much to see and do. Huey's on the Riverwalk, amazing food; the Mirage restaurant: wonderful food, great service and very friendly. Most places had one of my favorites "fried green tomatoes". Lots of fun bars to visit and enjoy.

Had a wonderful time for girls' getaway! This home is very centrally located and is close to everything. The accommodations were fantastic, quite unique and fantastically furnished. No detail was missed. One person complained about the lack of a kitchen sink...we didn't mind at all. The rest of the home was just so lovely we didn't care! The owners supplied enough drinking glasses, a refrigerator and washer/dryer. Thank you for the lovely stay. You helped us have a trip we'll never forget!

The place is great, though you are next to a fire station, most times you can't hear them, but a few calls they cam out horns blaring. You are in a walking distance to almost everything. I loved that. You also are at the mercy of your upstairs neighbors, if they are heavy footed, it may keep you up a little as well. Over all this is a great deal for what you get. We loved it, and would definitely stay again.

Just returned from a long weekend and just loved the place. Location was great for walking any direction and getting to all the sites. The house and surrounding area was beautiful and perfect for what we needed. Very clean and quite for the most part. We did have some people staying upstairs our last two days that were kinda loud. But that was their fault not the houses. I would stay here again and again if given the chance. Felt really safe with the fire department right next door. I really enjoyed the washer & dryer they provided, it was nice to go home with clean clothes.

My husband and I stayed here for a long weekend and loved everything! The location is perfect for walking, we only used our car to visit Tybee. The space was perfectly described! We thought the space was perfect for 2 people, enough room to spread out but not get lost. Savannah is such a great town to walk around and get lost in, and this place is right in the middle. Easy to get back to for an afternoon nap or change before dinner. Caraway Cafe was great and the discount is a nice touch! Kathleen was very helpful and answered any questions we had. We'd suggest this place to anyone and will definitely book it on our next trip!

This place is perfect for a couple wanting to enjoy the beautiful and fascinating downtown ambiance of Savannah. It is really nice to have the designated parking spot. The large shower is very inviting. It would be nice to have a sink in the small kitchen but you can get drinking water from the dispenser on the fridge and poor out left over drinks in the bathroom sink

    - Easy paperwork leading up to the stay and simple getting in and out. - Parked the car behind the house and walked right in off the sidewalk. - Clean. Great place to nap during the day, as it's pretty dark with the blinds. - Wireless worked well. - Offers 10% off if you eat at their cafe down the street. - Recently renovated with a nice tile bathroom - My only real question was why the toilet had a special flush button, since there were no instructions about it being a dual flush. - The kitchen has small appliances to heat up food, and a big empty fridge, washer and dryer. As mentioned, there's no kitchen sink, so plan to eat out. - The fire department is adjacent, but wasn't really a problem.

My husband and I spent two nights at this charming suite in downtown Savannah. Super location - we were able to park our car and leave it while we walked to all the places of interest. Clean, comfortable and cozy...much better than a hotel. Would recommend this place to our friends and would definitely stay here again. My wife and I recently visited Savannah and stayed in this awesome suite. We loved everything about the place and have recommended it to our friends and family. The bathroom was incredible with the spacious shower and tile. We also loved the brick floor throughout the suite. My wife said it felt so "homey" to her. The location of this place is perfect!!!! Everything you want to do is within walking distance. They provide parking which is wonderful. Once we parked our car, it didn't move until we left. You also can't beat the price...well worth it. We will be renting this place again in the future! If you are thinking about booking this place, you will not be disappointed!

My husband and I visit Savannah often and have stayed at chain hotels, historic inns, and other VRBOs but this location was by far our favorite! It seemed everything was just a 5-10 minute walk! Accommodations were very nice. Spacious layout, yet cozy all at the same time. The bed was comfortable and we were very pleased with the wonderful bathroom. Very clean and well appointed. We love how "authentic Savannah" the apartment felt too with exposed beams, brick floors, and a two-sided fireplace that acts as a room divider between the family room with the bedroom. This home is on a busy corner but it didn't really bother us at all. The air filter was a nice touch and doubled as a great white noise maker at night! The only downsides were the occassiona sounds from above (dogs) when we slept in and the white sheers in the kitchenette area windows didn't make us feel like we had 100% privacy. However, these things would not deter from staying at this home again! Thanks for sharing your home with us!

My husband and I decided to take a trip to beautiful Savannah for the St. Patties day celebration and to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary! We looked for a house that would be perfect for the two of us and decided on this house and the beautiful location. The house was perfect. Very clean, inviting and in the perfect place to walk to where ever we wanted. We parked our car in their reserved parking spot and didnt have to drive anywhere unless we wanted. Very close to River street and in walking distance to Forsyth park. We loved every minute of our stay and will definitely try and stay again! Perfect Choice! Thanks Again!!

I'm a huge fan of VRBO and have stayed in some truly amazing properties and this one was no exception! My husband and I adore Savannah and chose to celebrate our 22nd wedding anniversary in this charming flat. While it has been beautifully renovated to make it extremely comfortable with modern conveniences the charm has been perfectly maintained. From the brick floors to the wood beam ceilings the place evokes a feeling that is true historic Savannah. The bath is spa-like, the bed is very comfortable with high quality linens. The decor is charming and they have wonderful artifacts from the area to inspect. While as mentioned there is no kitchen sink we didn't find that to be an issue since the description plainly states there was not one. We prepared accordingly with disposable products but didn't really need them as the owner had already provided them. The kitchen is equipped with most everything needed to get through a few days away from home and while you probably couldn't prepare a 5 course meal, you're in Savannah, why would you want to? There are so many fabulous places to eat even if you are on a budget. In fact, we ate at the owners wonderful cafe the Carraway Cafe just a short walk from the flat and the food was delicious and beautiful and the counter help kind and cheerful. The location of this place can't be beat and there is something spectacular to see around every corner. A fabulous cemetery 100 steps from the place and Broughton St. just a short block away. I found a charming jewlery shop across the street where the owner designs and sells her own pieces where I selected my anniversary gift from my husband. Perfect! And Leopold's Ice Cream Parlor is an easy walk from the flat and right next door to the Caraway Cafe. We had the pleasure of meeting the charming owner, Kathleen during our stay. Thank you so much Kathleen for the bottle of wine you left us to toast our years together and thank you for sharing your wonderful piece of Savannah with us. We had a memorable and wonderful time and hope to return many times!

I honestly thought I wrote a review of this property months ago, but figured out that it must not have been submitted so this is a bit later than it should've been. My wife (then girlfriend) spent an amazing long weekend in the Garden Suite in February of 2011. It was her Christmas gift. The accomodations and amenities were just what we needed. Bed was comfortable as well as the living room furniture. Loved the tile in the bathroom and the original brick flooring was the perfect place to ask her to marry me. Luckily she said YES! and we recently got married in October. Neither of us had ever been to Savannah, and we couldn't imagine a better location to explore such an amazing city. Only 2 blocks to the River Walk and a little more than that to the amazing Forsyth Park. Also the Savannah Tenors were quite impressive at the Old Savannah Theatre. With so much history, so many places to eat and so many ways to simply relax Savannah, Georgia instantly became one of our favorites. Thanks to Kathleen for allowing us to share such a special time at her property. It was absolutely PERFECT!

the apt. is lovely. The pictures are accurate in what they portray. The positives are; great location, great price, prompt owner responses, great parking, beautiful bathroom and tasteful, comfortable decor. There are a few negatives, that I would have been glad to know before I came. It is an old house, therefore, you can clearly hear family above, including two dogs, phone calls and 1 hour's worth of vacuuming from 7-8 p.m. right overhead, second night of 3 nights we were there and there was activity overhead until 11 p.m. It is a home, and of course they live there, renters just need to be aware that you can hear them :) The only sink is the pedestal sink in bathroom, so not at all convenient if you want to prepare meals and wash dishes for more than one night. The "kitchen" consists of a wire baker's rack holding a microwave and counter top pizza sized toaster oven. As pictured there is a gorgeous ss fridge, next to the not pictured stackable full sized washer and dryer...that was just a bit awkward. We were preparing two meals a day, and while we knew from the written description there was not an oven or dishwasher, I was expecting a sink and counter, kitchenette type set up. We could have used a counter and sink area for our three days, more than a washer and dryer. Overall, it was a great spot, I just like to know what I'm walking in to, and none of the previous reviews really mentioned those things.

My husband and I stayed here last December...not sure why it has taken me so long to write a review! This is THE BEST location if you plan on staying in the Historic District! Close to everything, off the street parking, COMFY bed, and tons of extra touches. The owners go the extra mile - even had Christmas music playing softly in our room when we arrived.I know some other reviews mentioned noise, but this was not a factor for us. My husband and I were so sad to leave. We are currently making plans to visit Savannah again this winter and this is THE ONLY place we would stay!!

We enjoyed our stay in this unit. It is in a perfect location and easy to walk anywhere. We only used our car when we ventured away from downtown. It was very clean and comfortable, a big plus. Lovely home in the heart of historic district. Off-street parking was wonderful. We walked everywhere in the city so the only time we used our vehicle was to go eat at Uncle Bubbas. The City Market directly behind the home was a wonderful place to grab a snack or anything else you might need. The house was very clean and had everything you might need for your stay in Savannah. There is so much to do in Savannah that you will certainly want to come back again to do the things you didn't get a chance to. The Savannah fire hall is right next door and it was neat to watch the fire engines as they headed out to an emergency This was a great place to stay and I would highly recommend it to anyone who wants to walk around the city of Savannah exploring all it has to offer. I can't wait for my next visit to this beautiful historic city. Thanks for allowing us the pleasure of staying in your beautiful home.

There is so much to see and do in Savannah, and this property is in the heart of it all. The owners are warm and welcoming, but unless they are needed, you are given ultimate privacy and would never know they are there. We had the most amazing time. The property was immaculate and absolutely beautiful. It was a perfect mix of modern and historical. After a day of shopping, eating, drinking, and sightseeing, it was wonderful to come in and just relax in a home away from home. The owners also have a dining establishment within walking distance.......the cofee is absolutely AMAZING!!! We would highly recommend this property to anyone!

My wife and I spent an awesome weekend in Savannah, and these accomodations were perfect. The location is easy walking distance to many sights and establishments that make Savannah so unique. The room which is much like a studio apartment is extremely comfortable and romantic. It was a great place to chill in between our daily jaunts and perfect for our quiet times together. It has an awesome four poster bed, bath with two person shower, period furniture and character. The room was quiet even though it is only a few feet from one of many beautiful streets that make up Savannah. We highly recommend this location above a hotel room if you are able to book it. It will be your own slice of living in Savannah while you are in town.

This was our was first visit to Savannah and definitley won't be our last. The property was very clean and comfortable, with all the amenities that we needed. It is within walking distance to all the historical sights which we found to be very interesting and very beautiful..And also walking distance to Paula Deen's restaurant " LADY & Sons ".. We only used our car once and that was to go to Tybee Island.Thank you for giving us a home away from home.

Absolutely PERFECT location and loved the decor. Some of the best sleep we have had on vacation ever. Was so surprised how sound proof it was to be in the middle of so much action. Could not have asked for anything more and glad to make new friends with the Bemis family. Loved the market behind the condo - visited daily. Caraway Cafe was great too. Thanks again for your exceptional Southern Hospitality.

As the title implies this property is in a prime location and includes parking, which in Savannah is a must! My wife and I stayed here on our honeymoon and our expectations were met fully. The owners are extremely inviting, helpful and friendly (we had the pleasure of seeing them and speaking to them in passing a couple times and they are genuine, caring folks). I would have rated this location 5 stars if there was a full-kitchen. That was really the only downside as my wife and I enjoy cooking our own meals due to our health goals. If you prefer to eat out most meals and can get by with a microwave oven, microwave and refrigerator then you'll be fine. Everything you could want to do or see in Savannah is in walking distance. To see more we took a trolley tour but the town is really set up for pedestrian travel and that is my recommended way of seeing the city (because of the location of this property it is no problem).

This was the first time our family rented an apartment for vacation. It was the best experience. The apartment is walking distance from everywhere. The place was clean and very comfortable (especially if you have kids). The owners were always available. We didn't have to worry about leaving our things behind, like you do in a hotel. I highly recommend staying here when visiting Savannah. Thanks for the great memories......

We arrived on Friday parked our car and never saw it again until leaving Sunday. Kathleen and Mark's place is so well located for everything. We walked to a concert at Johnny Mercer, beignets at Huey's on the River, SCAD, the design district, the Art Museum, The Tea Room Savannah, SoHo Cafe for brunch and ghost walks starting no more than 200' away... A traveler could not be located any better in such a great town. The rooms are splendid, the generosity of our hosts, their Caraway cafe and market can not be surpassed. Highly recommended

FIance and I stayed there for 3 nights in early June (central air in the house) and this place was perfect. Central location - walking distance to everything. Off-street parking was convenient because we didn't get in the car once so we just left it where it was. The Bemis family is very accomodating, they own a little cafe nearby which has great food too, definitely something to check out - Caraway Cafe. Would stay here again in a heartbeat!

My wife and I recently spent three nights here to celebrate our 1st anniversary and we couldn't have been happier. The owners were helpful and even gave us a few pointers for things to do. The location is perfect! You are only a few blocks from the river/River Street, Paula Deen's restaurant, and the City Market. The atmosphere and character of the room were charming and the bed was very soft. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend this to anyone!

Overall, the experience was good. Electrical problem with track lights needs to be looked at. A fuse popped one day. Location is great, even though it's next to a fire sdattion.

Owner response: Electrical issue has been addressed. A bulb blew on the track lighting system as it was too high a wattage. For safety, we removed lights and decreased wattage.
