    We very much enjoyed staying in this beautiful, comfortable home that is furnished with everything you could need. We liked the proximity to Key West as well as the beaches at Bahia Honda.     Very nice, newish home on one of the few deepwater lots on Ramrod with Ocean views. Southeast breeze makes for a comfortable time in summer vs canal or backcountry residences. Inside is clean and comfortable with granite, stainless etc kitchen and a TV in every bedroom plus one in the family room. Large DVD selection of movies, stereo with spkrs inside & out and well-kept pool. Owner is helpful if you need her but stays out of your way when you don't. We've stayed on Ramrod several years and this home, while the priciest we've been in is worth the extra $. We will be back next year.

    This is our 2nd stay in Paradise and my husband and I find it to be the best home away from home with so many more benefits! This has become our annual family and friends’ vacation destination. Couldn’t ask for better accommodations, you truly feel like you are in your own private resort. Beautiful view of the water and surrounding islands, palms blowing in the breeze, smell of fresh sea air, sunshine and moonshine that you have never experienced before! Pool fun every day….no lack of lounge chairs for sunbathing and plenty of tables and chairs in the shade where the adults and grandkids enjoyed midday snacks and meals. Even with the few overcast and rainy days, we just relaxed and took in the accommodations and the view, made selections from the movie library and watched a movie or two, played board games and took further advantage of the gourmet kitchen and whipped up more than a few fantastic meals! Love the Tiki Hut with the beautiful view of your own private beach and the gorgeous waterfront….can still hear the faint sound of the music playing in the background, palms blowing in the breeze, air infused with the fresh smell of the sea and thinking that the plaque saying “It is 5:00 Here!” couldn’t be more true! If you decide to venture away from your little piece of paradise, there is so much to do and so very close….good luck fitting it all into your vacation stay. Key West visits, No Name Pub in Big Pine Key (love those little Key Deer), Taco Tuesdays at Looe Key Resort Restaurant & Bar (a Key’s bar if you ever wanted to experience one with great local entertainment, chicken wings and hot dogs…oh and Tacos too!), The Square Grouper restaurant, Bahia Honda State Park, I could go on and on. And certainly not to forget the fishing……fishing opportunities abound in the Keys. Whether you bring your own boat down and keep it at your own private dock here or if you charter a boat….this stay we caught Mahi-Mahi, Wahoo and hooked 9 Tarpon. We enjoyed sashimi Wahoo poolside with friends and neighbors (everyone is so friendly here). And even if you don’t have the same fishing luck….the adage of “a bad day fishing is better than a good day working!” is so very true here at this awesome home by the sea! The owners are wonderful and responsive! They even shared a great Fish Taco recipe with us, which was out of this world! The Johnson family & friends can't wait for next year's stay!

    Beautiful home on the ocean on a quiet dead end street. Photos accurately reflect the home and amenities. Owners are very responsive and provided helpful information for our trip. Location was great - within minutes of a grocery store, drug store and not too far for a trip to Key West. House was very clean, updated, great pool and poolside area along with nice screened in porch area. Small private beach area provided some fun in the sand and boat watching. We even saw some fish, crabs, iguanas and birds. Plenty of TVs to keep our family happy and surround sound stereo system was enjoyed from the pool. We'd recommend taking in a round of mini golf, a trip to Bahia Honda Beach (but go early in the day to avoid crowds and we preferred the beach to the left as you enter), snorkel trip to Looe Key, and the Dry Totuga trip out of Key West ending the day with the Mallory Square entertainment. If we are ever back in the Keys, we'd be looking to stay here again. Wonderful well-maintained property that we would recommend to family and friends.

    What a perfect vacation home! This is truely a pardise in the Keys. Everything is there for you, just bring your bathing suit and the rest is there for you to enjoy! Dave and Donna are like old friends now, they could not possibly be more accomadating. There is so much to see and do in the Keys and have this home to come back to beyond words. All of the Donna's suggestions were so helpful and a great start to all there is to see and do. The home is close enough to all the attractions yet secluded enough to feel like you are off in a private resort. I would highly reccomend this property to families, couple, fisherman and divers.

    Wow! This place was everything and more than everyone expected. The house was well appointed and gorgeously decorated. Location was excellent, close to the keys, with many many good restaurants and fun things to do. The neighborhood was very nice to walk around and everyone is so friendly. The layout of the house was perfect with breathtaking views of the water from all living areas. We enjoyed many days and nights outside at the Tiki Bar, poolside and of course the fishing dock. We especially loved the underwater dock lights. So cool. The house has many amenities, kitchen is fully stocked, and pool can be heated (which is nice). The ambience with the lighted pool and lighted docks is beautiful. What more can you ask for. The property was immaculate and very well maintained. The owners from the very beginning were very pleasant and very accommodating in every way. They had many good recommendations of the where to go and places to eat in the area. Owners were very accessible through email as well as telephone calls. We felt like we were friends by the end of the trip. The recommendations for things to do and restaurants were excellent. I would highly recommend this to my friends and relatives and look forward to going back. We enjoyed all activities and restaurants. Restaurants recommended: For a sunset dinner and cruise: Sunset Culinaire Tours in Key West. It was a lovely sunset boat ride with 5 star dining. Highly recommend it. No Name Pub. Worth the 10 minute drive. Saw many key deer along the way. Excellent pizza and decor! LOL. Mangrove Mama's food, service and prices were excellent and not a far drive away. Would highly recommend the Sea Turtle Hospital. Was very informative and fun! Looe Key Tiki Bar and Boondocks would recommend. Very close by. Good entertainment and good drinks. At Boondocks, Put Put is fun (even in the rain). I would highly recommend this house.

    You can not go wrong with renting this house!! The owners were very helpful and on the spot with anything we needed. We have rented for about 7 years in many different locations and find this house is perfect for us. The kitchen is the most equipped I have ever seen in a rental. The house is perfect for many families. The location is good, close to Marathon and to Key West. We traveled to both many times so it was very convenient. I would definiely recommend this house to anyone. We will be returning every year that is how much we liked it!!

    We just completed a month of the most restful, meaningless vacation ever, and have never enjoyed ourselves more. Fantastic views, wonderful days in the pool, trips to Key West, great dinners on site and at the many nearby restaurants, all made up a truly great winter respite. This was our first visit to the Keys, and we are in love.

    My family had an amazing time at Ramrod Key!We were amazed at the house,the pictures come nowhere close to doing this place justice,it was absolutely beautiful! It was in a more rural area,away from the partying of Key West,but close enough to visit if you like,close to several restaurants.We did venture out several times,but what we enjoyed the most was being at the house relaxing in the pool,tiki hut,or just on the comfy couch watching movies.It truly was like our own mini resort! Can't wait to go back!!!! The Tant family from Georgia

    This home had all of the amenities that anyone could wish for. PERFECT for all ages. A great choice if you plan on bringing your boat, no canals to go in and out of every time. All you need to bring is a tooth brush. Everything you need is provided. Kitchen was fully equipped. The outdoor speaker/stereo system was wonderful - you also have the capability to plug into your MP3. Pool was awesome - lighted - we called it the disco pool. So much fun! So very accommodating! We will be back!

    We had the most wonderful stay at this beautiful house. Great situation, very quiet neighbourhood and right on the ocean. The house is fully stocked with all that you could need and is so clean. The owners couldn't have been more helpful and were so easy to do business with. The photos accurately reflect the property but you have to be there to appreciate the comfort and tranquility that the house emanates. The gardens and pool are expertly and regularly maintained. The view over the ocean is amazing - we just didn't want to leave. Go! You won't regret it!

    Beautiful house, very clean, kitchen has everything you could need. Kids enjoyed the pool, the tiki hut, the dock and the flat screen TVs. Beds, linens, pillows and towels were all first class. House and furnishings still look brand new. Speakers everywhere (even outdoors) to play your Jimmy Buffet/Bob Marley tunes. Owners were very easy to work with and readily available to answer questions, etc. I would recommend this house to my closest friends.

    My family and I stayed in this beautiful home for a week in March and we had the time of our lives. The layout of the house was so cozy. The large kitchen was stocked with every kitchen item you could think of which made it so easy to cook and save money on food. The heated pool, tiki hut, master bedroom balcony, and lit dock were great and we were comfortable just being at the house rather than running all over the place looking for entertainment. We did take the 30 minute trip to Key West and eat at some great local restaurants. There's also a great beach/nature center within a few miles and some of the best snorkeling in the keys that you can book right at the Snorkeling place just a mile down the road. The owners were so helpful and were always available by phone to make sure our stay was pleasant. Finally, the decor is fabulous and top-notch. The property is beautiful inside and out. Don't hesitate to book this property if it's available!

    We spent Christmas in this lovely home with our family. It is beautifully furnished, has all the amenities and is impeccably maintained. Our two year old granddaughter especially enjoyed the pool and the dock (the underwater lights made nightly fish-watching a must). Since our daughter works at the Looe Key Dive Resort, the location was perfect. Easy access to a number of great restaurants and, of course, Key West. I would highly recommend this rental no matter what your reason for traveling to the Lower Keys.

    We planned our wedding on Smathers Beach in Key West and needed a place for us and our close friends to stay in. I couldn't have asked for anything more perfect than this house!! It's beautifully decorated and lanscaped on a quiet street with all the amenities. It's close to *tons* of major attractions, including the infamous Key West, although between soaking in the pool, gathering in the Florida room, fishing on the dock, or relaxing with a cold drink under the tiki hut, we didn't leave the house much. Thank you for sharing this with us... it made a special occassion even more perfect.

    We had a wonderful family vacation! The other reviews are right on!! Everything is very clean, beautifully decorated and landscaped and very well equiped with everything you need and more. We had small children come to visit and the fenced back yard was wonderful. The tiki hut was great fun for evening meals. Beautiful breezes, lights and music made it very festive.The fishermen loved the dock, cleaning station and extra refrigerator in the garage. We have already bragged about this vacation home to family and friends. The homeowners provide excellent customer service and are a joy to work with. We have priceless memories of our stay and we can't wait to go back!!

    I had the pleasure of staying at this beautiful house in June, 2009. I already miss swimming in the cool pool during the hot afternoons, sharing a drink with my family under the tiki hut, and fishing off the boat dock trying to catch the elusive tarpon. We enjoyed the large kitchen, the nicely decorated interior and the wonderful bedrooms. The location of the house was perfect for boating with easy access to the open ocean (10 mins) and to the gorgeous Looe Key Reef (20 mins). Without hesitation, I would use this house agian for another perfect keys vacation.

    This house was absolutely perfect for our vacation.It was comfortable, very clean, beautifully decorated with quality tropical furniture and a gorgeous open water view. Ramrod Key is a great location to enjoy fishing, snorkeling, boating and day trips to Key West. No detail in this home is forgotten, everything is available for everyday needs as well as entertaining. You can tell that the family that owns this house enjoys having it as they're vacation home. Other little xtras that made us glad we chose this house are: the pool is nice with colored lights at night, underwater lights at the boat dock so you can see the fish(I loved this), you can catch tarpon and snapper right off of the dock, a well appointed dock for fishermen with a hose, fish cleaning station and a shower. Just like the other review said, the pictures do not do this house justice.

    Three of girlfriends plus myself (55+) spent an amazing time at this 5-star resort! The house was beautifullly furnished in a beach casual atmosphere. There were high ceilings with paddle fans, open kitchen to the dining area/living room, etc. The house still smells new and we were all impressed with the cleanliness and the meticulous grooming to the outside grounds. Spending the day at the pool was a delight and, when we needed a cool drink, we sat under the Tiki Bar and listened to the outside music and watched the boats go by. There was plenty of privacy and several nice restaurants right around the corner. The drive at night to Key West was about 35 minutes and what a treat to see the sun set. This home and location would be good for children and adults of any age. We definitely would like to go back again next year and, of course, the weather was outstanding. Enjoy!!

    Trust me, this is one place you DEFINATLY want to stay at. The pictures do not do this house justice. It is perfect. Surround sound through out the whole house, including the Tiki Hut. EVERY SINGLE THING YOU NEED TO HAVE IN A HOUSE IS PROVIDED, AND THEN SOME!!! Easy to find, great location....beautiful views. If you have looked at this house, STOP LOOKING....make the call and make your reservation. You will not be sorry. You will want to come back each and everytime you are on vacation. BEWARE of the No-C-Ums....little bugs that love to bite....just take some bug spray, and you will be fine. There is a cool tiki hut bar in the front enterance, awesome place, try the conch chowder!! You have to come here. But be warned.............YOU WILL NOT WANT TO LEAVE!!!!! Missing Ramrod in Brownsburg!!

    The pictures on this house do not even do it justice!!! When you come here, there is nothing that you need...except maybe a bit of bug spray for the "no-C-ums," But other than that, it has everything. EXTREMELY CLEAN, better than described. We had a wonderful time, and as long as the owners will let us come back, this could be an annual trip!!! If you are even considering coming to this house. STOP, pick up the phone and make a reservation. I promise you, you will NOT BE SORRY!!!! LOVE.....lost in brownsburg

    I have had the opportunity to stay at this beautiful home on several occasions. Everything you can imagine and more is available for you. It is truly like staying at your own private resort! This amazing home offers everything you need for the most pleasant vacation experience. Everything is organized and brand new. Nothing has been forgotten! This house is beautifully decorated, is comfortable, and has a truly luxurious feel. There are endless amenities to make your stay pleasurable, including; surround sound stereo, a heated pool, furnished porch and patio areas that overlook the pool, dock, and ocean, an authentic tiki hut, a mini beach, and a gas grill. This is a great place to relax, to party, or to entertain! Breathtaking views of the water, convenient location, boat access to the bay and ocean, and only 27.5 miles from the town of Key West makes this paradise for everyone who comes and stays. I cannot say enough about this vacation home. It truly is a piece a heaven. While here be sure to visit Boondocks to eat and play mini-golf, the tiki bar at the end of the road to unwind and relax, UnderSeas for snorkeling, diving, and boat trips, Big Pine Diner for breakfast, No Name Pub for nachos and pizza, Parrotdise for dinner on the water, as well as the town of Key West.
