Our family had a wonderful vacation at the Sunset Sonata. The house was exactly like the pictures on the web, the hot tub so nice after a day of skiing at nearby Northstar. The owners were very friendly and made it easy to set up our payment and arrival information. We had a beautiful drive and walk at "Vikingsholm" in Emerald Bay and also went to the nearby casinos in Nevada. Great family destination.
Owner response:Thanks and hope you make it back this summer . we loved your town Ketchikan when we had oppty to visit.

Thank you ,Carol, for sharing your beautiful home with us. When we first contacted you to ask if this home would be appropriate for children, you were a bit modest though inviting. As it turns out, it was perfect! With three children ages 6, 3, and 1, we were pleasantly surprised to find ample open space devoid of breakable knick-knacks and sharp treacherous corners. In the twin room, the children loved playing on the piano (with your permission, of course!) and watching the Disney channel during quiet time. TVs in every room was a big plus! While they enjoyed having their own space, they were a bit rough on the door; the stopper causes it to spring forward, and this was far too entertaining. I thought the kids might explore more in the backyard, but we kept them so busy during the day, they came back exhausted. The yard, in summer, is a bit of a jungle, so it wasn't the sort of place to play ball, but they poked about a bit, marveled at the bugs and kicked around the pine cones. My husband was diligent about keeping the cover on the hot tub, though! Although we brought a baby gate, it wasn't necessary. The stairs were carpeted and had two short landings. The only thing I forgot to bring from home were covers for the electrical outlets. The location was spectacular. It was within walking distance of shops, and while we chose not to walk to the beach- hauling the children and all our gear- it was no problem finding parking during the week. King's Beach really is one of the best family beaches on the lake. It has a play structure right next to the sand, decent bathrooms, and a mild, even slope with few large rocks. It is so close to the house, we let the kids swim almost every day! (We have a state park pass, so we didn't have to pay for parking.) I also liked how we could enter the house through the garage after being at the lake or river, and strip our accessories near the bathroom and laundry. It made for much easier clean up! Though we never parked inside the garage, we were pleased to have the storage space for our outdoor gear, such as floaties, umbrella, baby backpack. The kitchen provided most everything we needed, and what we forgot, we picked up from Safeway only minutes away. My husband grilled near every night and there was plenty of table space for all. The upstairs deck became a private retreat for Dad, who took his coffee and read while the kids played in the great room. We can't wait for our next visit.
Owner response:Thank for for taking the time to write such a thorough review for your stay at our home. and for letting us know as soon as possible about the door. Carolyn appreciated your efforts in making her cleaning job easier . We will look forward to your next visit.

We rented the 'Sunset Sonata' for the weekend and had a lot of fun while we were there. It was easy to find/get-to, very close to all places fun in Tahoe and overall comfortably provided what was required to have a fun weekend. The highlights include: - Carol: she was super nice and made the reservation process very easy for me. She also sent in an email with all the required information regarding the property. - Location: It is walkable distance from the lake and within 5 minutes from a safeway, and 15 minutes from Northstar. It is close to the major highways and makes it easy to drive to wherever fun you want to be in and around Tahoe. - amenities: We had a lot of fun in the hot-tub. The kitchen was equipped with everything we needed to cook and there were also some additional winter clothing just in case you forgot to bring any. That was awesome. - 3 Bedrooms: two of them are downstairs and the master BR is upstairs. The smaller bedroom is good for the kids if you are travelling with any. - Great family room attached to the kitchen: Its a lot of place and we spent most of the time there in front of the awesome fireplace and a few steps away from the grill. - Great Backyard: It snowed and we had lots of fun making snow angels in the backyard :) - Laundry in house. Overall, its a very comfortable wonderful place with a nice fireplace and wonderful space that really makes you feel at home. Thank you Carol and Boya.
Owner response:We always appreciate when our guests take the extra time to leave us positive reviews.

We have rented many homes in North and South Tahoe. While we have enjoyed most of them, this home by far is the best. It is obvious the owners take great care of their home. It is well maintained. The beds are comfortable as well as the rest of the furniture. Wifi is a definite plus for our geeky group. The hot tub was fantastic après skiing. We have several cooks as well. The kitchen is fully stocked with great appliances and cooking ware. We really enjoyed our fun and peaceful time here at this home. Definitely a keeper.
Owner response:We always appreciate hearing back from our guests but most do not take the time to personally write their reviews online so when they do it is doubly appreciated. Usually we have to copy the reviews left in our guest book so others can also see their perspective. HOpe to have you back again. carol

Hello, From time to time after we visit our home in Tahoe we copy and enter guests comments to the list below. We keep guest books at each of our rentals and that way we are able to post publicly what our previous guests have said. Hope to have you as future guests at the Sunset Sonata.

This week was my son's christmas present- the only thing he asked for this year was a ski trip. I found this home on line and was delighted to book it. The entire week was so much fun.....Homewood has wonderful weekday prices and fabulous instructors. We had a ball. The highlight on the slopes was when my son turned to me and said, "Mom, I'm having the time of my life!" This house has been well worth the price. We absolutely loved the beautiful and comfortable accommodation. Thank you!

We were here for a family vacation while attending our niece's wedding. Had lunch on rosie's deck, went to the beaches, gambled(lost) jetskiied, and celebrated with family members. Weather was perfect- sunny warm days and cool evenings. The house was most comfortable for my husband and I and our two adult children.

Thanks for providing this more than comfortable home. We had a great family reunion here and the table extensions came in very handy for our group. You have thought of everything. Will definitely reccommend it to friends.
