About the owner: As two Pennsylvanians, Taos Ski Valley was another world. Ski bumming in the early 70's at the old Hondo Lodge wrangled Joel and Marny Schantz to stay in Taos. The family grew up on the slopes with the families of Taos Ski Valley with many a tale to be told. Everyone seems to claim the mountain as their very own. As owners of Prudential Taos Real Estate, we knew the McLeod's who had bought this unit in 1965 as new. We have invested in this ideal property to create equity as Taos Ski Valley grows with the next generation. Jasper is the "little" elk residing above the fireplace, remaining from a "little" McLeod's first hunt. The Kandahar is a place for us to escape. It's just up the mountain! The kids bring their friends, we bring our friends. Perfect!
Why the Owner Chose Taos Ski Valley:
Taos Ski Valley is noted around the world for the best powder days in the winter and warm sunny days in the spring...and don't forget the martini tree. The mountain will always present itself as a challenge no matter what level skier you are. Taos Ski Valley is still privately owned giving the locals a feel of ownership and community. It is not Vail or Deer Valley, thank goodness. We love it here.
The Unique Benefits at this Condo:
There is that WOW view with all of the drapes pulled back looking out at the valley as you enter. Step out on the deck and take in the mountain air. Then there is that big comfy couch luring you each time you walk in. Its full kitchen, newly done makes it fun to "play house" for a couple of days. Bedrooms down stairs with separate doors are ideal for pets and people. Take a walk, enjoy your stay. It's a getaway!
