Beach house on a quiet, secluded Beach in Fort Morgan area of Gulf Shores. No busy commercial congestion or large condominium complexes. Relax on the covered deck with excellent views of the Gulf of Mexico and Mobile Bay or enjoy the swing and picnic table located under the unit. Spend the day just steps away on the uncrowded white, Sandy Beach. Find shells, watch for porpoises and swim in the clear blue waters of the Gulf. It's a short drive to several great Golf courses, or Shopping in Gulf Shores and the Foley (Tanger) Outlet centers. Dine at local favorites 'Lulu's' owned by Jimmy Buffett's sister Tachy Jacks less than a mile from the house, Papa Rocko's for pizza and many more. Close to the house is historic Fort Morgan, or take an easy hike in Bon Secour National Wildlife Refuge.
A bargain hunting trip to Tanger is a wonderful family activity. Tanger Outlet Centers have something for everyone. Your family will discover everything from the latest brand name fashions and accessories to home décor, books, music CDs, toys, outdoor gear, and much, much more. After a day of outlet shopping, everyone will have fun comparing all of the great deals they found
At the west end of the Pleasure Island peninsula are the remains of Fort Morgan. One of the two forts that protected Mobile during the Battle of Mobile Bay, the Fort dates from 1812. A museum offers displays of Civil War artifacts, and tours reveal the history of the fort from the War of 1812 until its final closure by the Army in 1946. On the beach, visitors will find cannons gazing out to sea. After touring the fort, there are opportunities to stroll the white beaches, swim, fish or crab, shell hunt, and sunbathe. This spot is a favorite with birdwatchers, who have been known to make rare sightings of migratory birds. A marina, golf course, and lodging are all nearby. The first week in August the fort hosts its major annual event, the Civil War Living History Encampment.
Recreate among endangered species and migratory birds. Over 4,000 acres of beach dunes, scrub dunes, fresh water marsh, salt water marsh, and Maritime forest make up the Bon Secour National Wildlife Refuge just west of Gulf Shores. This coastal Refuge is part of the Central Gulf Ecosystem Unit and provides refuge for the endangered loggerhead sea turtle, the endangered American alligator, and the rare gopher tortoise. Part of the migration route of the monarch butterfly, the Refuge is also known for its more than 120 species of birds - making it a paradise for bird watchers. Along with birding, the refuge offers opportunities for hiking, swimming, photography, collecting sea shells, and boating. Fishermen enjoy both fresh and saltwater fishing.
Ride the auto ferry to Dauphin Island for a tour of the SeaLab and historic Fort Gaines.Birdwatching and sunbathing are two of the favorite activities on this island paradise. The Audubon Bird Sanctuary, at the east end of the island, extends over 164-acres of maritime forest, marshes, and dunes. A campground and hiking trail are part of the Sanctuary, giving visitors opportunities to spend time observing the neotropical migrant birds and native wildflowers.. In the spring, the park is visited by bird lovers anxious to view the annual bird migration.

We had a wonderful time while in Fort Morgan at our vrbo rental. It was so peacful. Although, we didn't get to enjoy the hangout but one evening this year due to the area being prepared for the big "concert" bash that was upcoming we still had a wonderful time that night. For a peacful relaxing time I recommend the Gulf Shores area and Fort Morgan all the way.Recommended for: Pet owners.

We go to Ft. Morgan just about every year and this was the first time that we rented from Cheryle. The house was cozy, nice and fully stocked. The first time EVER we've rented a house/condo that has everything you need. The best part to us was that they are pet friendly. We have two dogs and our lab absolutely loves the water. Being so close to the ocean, we were able to take her everyday and that was sooooooo nice. Much better than boarding them. Also, we had family decide to join us at the last minute which turned out to be wonderful!Recommended for: Pet owners, families with young children, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, sightseeing, age 55+.

We loved staying at this beautiful little place for our spring break. The house was perfect for me and my girls, including our little dog, Chloe! The white sand beaches at Fort Morgan are just gorgeous! I could spend the rest of my days relaxing here! Thanks, Cheryle and family!Recommended for: Pet owners, families with young children, families with teenagers, girls getaway, age 55+.

The house was comfortable enough for only two to three people. Living room is small with uncomfortable seating. We didn't use the living room much because of this. We mostly sat at the kitchen table and outside on the deck when we were at the house. The beds are extremely uncomfortable (can't owners just expend the money for a comfy bed for guests?), so much so that we were trying to devise another plan for sleeping the last night because we were so fed up with waking up with aches and pains in the morning (and we're young). The owner gives you the option of cleaning the house yourself rather than paying a cleaning fee, and we opted for this since I clean throughout my stay anyway. Downside: I got the feeling that I was cleaning other guests' mess. There was still soap in the shower from the previous guest not cleaning the shower, or either cleaning it and forgetting the soap. I am a germaphobe (not to mention I just finished chemotherapy two months beforehand), so due to a weakened immune system, I don't need to be in contact with someone else's germs, especially in a shower. I feel that people want to save the cleaning fee money, but if the previous guests weren't as dedicated to the cleaning cause and just did a half-ass job to save the money, you'll be the one walking into it. Otherwise, the house is cute, in a good location for walking to the beach, walking for exercise, or riding bicycles. It also has swings on the upstairs porch and downstairs. It's definitely a house I would stay in during the fall season since the prices in the fall are cheaper. I would have been pretty upset if I'd stayed here and it was at a high cost. Just like the old saying goes, you get what you pay for. Would I stay here again? Yes, if the cost was the same (or a little less) AND if they replace the mattresses.Recommended for: Pet owners.

Fort Morgan, was a great place to stay and not crowded at all compared to the crowds we saw on the Gulf Shores beach. I was a little worried about taking my 3 yr old and 5 month old on a beach vacation, but the cabin was perfect for both of them. No carpet in the house made it a snap to clean up, no worry about sand spurs in it or spills made. The playpen was great for my baby to sleep in. The water conditions could have been better, as Debby was out in the gulf at the time, but being so close to the Fort offered us a chance to go to the beach on the bay where the water was better for several days so the kids still got to enjoy it. The walk to the beach isn't too far for the young ones or adults and the price was lower than anything else we had looked at. Cheryle was very nice and accomodating.Recommended for: Families with young children, families with teenagers, sightseeing, age 55+.

I loved this beach house!Everything we needed was furnished and ready to use. The description and pictures don't do it justice. You really have to see it for yourself. It is a short walk to the beach (which is very clean). I loved that it wasn't crowded like a public beach. I have already recommended it to friends and would stay there again. I hope your vacation is as wonderful as mine was.
