Unedited Transcript from note left in cottage by Laura and Tom, Columbia, MD: "Thank you for the pleasant conversations, advice/coaching re: financial planning. We'd enjoy following through on such rich opportunities. Our only regret is spending so little time here. We would like more walking around the neighborhood, more time at the juice bar (one block away), more sleeping in, more quiet time and more writing time. We'd also have more meals made here. As it has been, we had both dinner and a breakfast at the magical Mexican, Taco Bus! Great food highly sought after. Tom and I hope to be back soon to visit with you and Thomas. We love the nautical images, clean lines and trim, and the pottery!"

Owner response: Laura & Tom, I genuinely appreciated your suggestions for the cottage, yes, we've added all your suggestions. Great conversations. Look forward to seeing you soon.

I just moved from Portland Or. to Tampa sight unseen.I was in need of a temporary housing while I located a house to move into. I found this place to be just what I needed to make the transition comfortable and welcoming. The cottage is relaxing, clean, peaceful, and overall just wonderful. Very centrally located in a wonderful historical neighborhood. The owner is a wealth of information about local restaurants, beaches, and little hidden Tampa treasures. I liked the neighborhood and location so much that my husband and I moved a few blocks away. Highly Recommended!

Recommended for: Adventure seekers, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Owner response: Thanks Susannah. Absolutely great guest. So amazing to observe how you settled right into the neighborhood, and were open to new discoveries such as Sunday brunch at the Thai Temple and arrival dinner at the Taco Bus.

This retreat cottage defines relaxation! Conveniently located in a beautiful bungalow abundant neighborhood the retreat cottage is only blocks from Florida’s top rated Starbucks and amazing local fare. Everything I could ever need was only blocks away! Besides the perfect location, the cottage itself is beautiful. The environment is so relaxing and the highest quality amenities were provided for me. Local beaches are gorgeous—yes, the sand really is white and the water is so clear I could see my feet! I didn’t believe in white sand and clear water until visiting! The cottage, as well as the neighborhood, are super clean—Tampa must be the cleanest city I’ve ever been too. Henry, the owner, provided me with all the information I could possibly need and more! Henry provided me with directions and information about every possible form of transportation I could use to get to my destination. He showed me Fort Desoto beach in the Fort Desoto Park, and it was truly the most beautiful beach on the East Coast! It reminded me of being in Hawaii! The beach was super close to the cottage and St. Pete city! Henry also showed me St. Pete a very cute city on the water with lots of shopping and dining options. When staying at the cottage a must go to is the Taco Bus! Yes, it’s a bus that serves the freshest Mexican meals. I had an amazing butternut squash tostada, I highly recommend it! Overall, staying in the cottage—with the memory foam top bed, surrounded by beautiful gardens featuring native plants, and provided with everything I could ever need—was the ultimate renewing and relaxing experience!

Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Owner response: I am so honored by your notes regarding your visit and that you had such an outstanding visit to Tampa. Very pleased you are now considering University of Tampa for future studies.

Henry, Thank you for the magical return to the past when life was peaceful and calm. We loved our "dollhouse" cottage that soon became "home" as our time progressed at Erehwon Retreat. Our cottage was in a perfect location for two weeks worth of excursions to theaters, museums, festivals, flea markets, shopping, historic towns and the most beautiful beaches. We truly had a wonderful time! Thanks, for the planning & mapping so many of these excursions. We truly appreciated all the special details including food in the refrigerator, luxurious towels and chocolates on the night stands. We would love to return to the "dollhouse" again. M & H, Sioux Falls, S.D.

I was privileged to be the first guest to stay at this lovely cottage. I found it to be cozy, lovely and truly enjoyable. And the owner? The best!

Owner response: Michal, It was fabulous to have such a talent as my first guest. Hope this setting calmed you in anticipation of your photo shoot.

I never realized that white ginger had such a lovely aroma. The soothing massage and facial soaps at Erehwow are awesome. Love it!! Of course after a few days you realize every detail of Erehwon is thought out - so why White Ginger soap? Because it carries indoors, the amazing discovery was when Henry crushed a variagated Ginger leaf by the front porch. I thought the leaf had no aroma, but when crushed, it's that aroma carried in the soap. Great stay, fabulous sleeping, full kitchen, perfection in housekeeping, you can eat off the floors.

The cottage is clean with a lovely kitchen. We were close to I-275 so able to help nearby parents on Bayshore Blvd. in Tampa and still be in easy reach of Largo City Fire Department brothers. The weather has been warm, it was in the low 20's when we left Maine. So glad we missed the snow storm. Thanks again for a nice stay, now back to Blue Hill.
