  Wonderful stay at Joe and Helen's cottage. The kids loved the paddle boats and row boat. The best part of their vacation was the island right across the bay where they could go and swim and wade in the water to look for rocks. We loved being able to relax with them thier as well. Having the boat included with the cabin was key as well and made our trip even better. My only suggestion for improvement would be to have a larger kitchen table so all can sit around and play a game together. a real bed in the basement would have been nicer as well. The house was beautiful and had all we needed. The fishing on the lake was EXCELLENT on this lake. We are used to going to Wisconsin and the fishing was 110% better than it is there. The lake is so clean and clear you can see the fish jump on your line 6 feet below the water and the lake has a number of nice bays and is large enough to get lost but still feels small with all the coves and inlets....A great trip, thanks.

  Joe and Helen have an absolutely fantastic property! I never had a more relaxing, fun, and straightforward vacation. My trip from Seattle to the property was very easy - I love Cherry Airport. It is very easy access to downtown restaurants and vineyards - yeah!! The boat and lake were fantastic, warm, inviting, and the nearby island offered an opportunity to meet some locals that were very friendly. My wife and I have never had a more relaxing time. I can't say enough, the cottage was large, the deck was fabulous, the weather was wonderful...... I will be back! Thank You!! Len and Rita

  Leaving Joe and Helen's home yesterday was extremely sad! We loved the home from the moment we pulled up. The bedrooms were the perfect size, with a bathroom on each level. We loved the decks and looking out over the lake. The middle deck was wonderful to sit and relax with a glass of wine while I read my book! Our kids, ages 15,13,12, loved the paddle boats and that they were able to go over to the island across by themselves. The pontoon was a huge bonus for us. We spent a lot of time on the lake, either fishing, swimming or just playing games. Everything about this home was exactly as stated and Joe and Helen replied promptly everytime I had a question. The home is with 10 minutes to a great farmers market and grocery store. We had never been to Michigan before and loved every minute of it. If we go back I would definitely stay at this home on Spider Lake again!

  We stayed here with our two kids and another family of five. There was plenty of space for both families. The kids all stayed on the main floor with one set of adults in the upstairs bedroom and the other in the basement bedroom. We had many enjoyable days on the boat fishing and just cruising along the lake. The kids loved trying to catch frogs, fish, and playing in the sandbar. On the last night we even got to observe a bald eagle catch a fish. The lake is absolutely beautiful and very clean. All the amenities the home offers are perfect and made for a great relaxing week away. The owners Joe and Helen were very nice and helpful. They were very responsive from the very first inquiry we made. We would definitely recommend this cabin.

  We stayed here with another family for a week this summer and we had a great time! The cabin is very clean and beautiful and was big enough for two families. We loved going out on the pontoon boat and taking the pedal boats to the island. We had nightly bonfires and loved to sit and listen to the frogs croaking. Our kids loved swimming in the lake and playing on the island. The owners are very nice and came over to check on us. We were there for the 4th of July and the owner told us about the fireworks over the lake so we took the pontoon boat out on the lake and watched fireworks that people set off there and it was much better then driving into town for them. We would highly reccommend staying at this cabin!

  We just returned from a week at this house on the lake. It is spacious and extremely clean. The owners are the nicest folks you will ever meet. They were so accommodating. We had no problems at all. The one thing to know is that the double beds are futons. This was fine for us since it was my husband and I with our college age kids. The layout will certainly allow room for an inflatable mattress if needed. There were plenty of dishes, pots and pans. The washer and dryer are full size and work great. We have been to Spider Lake 3 years in a row and this is the best yet! Thank you for offering this wonderful home!

  We had a wondrful time. The home was beautifully decorated and the property was great. The weather did not cooperate very much but that is to be expected in the spring time. The pontoon was great and we had a wonderful time on the lake. Thanks,

  We really enjoyed our stay at Joe & Helen's cottage! The cottage was nice and clean and enough space for 2 families to share (one set of parents stayed upstairs with their own full bathroom, the other set of parents were on the lower level with their own full bathroom and all the kids stayed on the main floor between the 3rd bedroom and the living room with a futon and a sofa bed. There is a 3rd full bathroom on the main floor too). We ran the Bayshore marathon and it was great to come back and relax on the lake while the kids used the pedal boats and row boat to commute to the island across from the cottage to go swimming near the sand bar. The camp fire pit was great - Memorial Day weekend was a terrific way to kick off summer! We loved sitting on the decks - great views of the lake from both inside and outside the cottage! The owners were very accommodating to our schedule and we greatly appreciated it. We would definitely consider coming back! Thank you for a great time!

  This is a great place to stay for a waterfront vacation. My family stayed at this beautiful lakefront with no problems only enjoyment. Clean and spacious for a family of 10, The owners are very accomodating and give no problems. They were great to work with. They are in a nice neighborhood, and very friendly. We really had a good time and like to comeback soon. Thank you Joe & Helen.
