West Shore is the Best Shore! The lack of commercial build-out intrigues and relaxes. Chambers Landing keyed gate sets one further at ease to soak in the riotously colored entrance plantings and navigate the enormous Ponderosa Pines. Then the 'Ah-ha' moment is to see the lush, grassy meadow stretching out to the intensely blue lake only a 2 minute walk from our unit, a classic Woody or two creating a distant wake, the Mountain Chickadees in their tiny birdhouse, Stellar Jay's approaching in the hope of a handout and chattering squirrels chasing up the pines. Children are immediately having fun: tossing paper airplanes, running and tossing balls - waiting for a croquet game to begin. Next is the historic Chambers Landing bar (famous for Chamber's Punch) with snacks for children and a chance to roam the beach and peek in the pool area. Meals are close by either at our very own pier or within a ten-minute walk, either direction. Also awaiting are boating in all directions, picnics, hiking and waterfalls at nearby state parks. Don't overlook tennis as well as bike paths immediately in front. Bliss!
Ah, yes, the facilities: upscale, comfortable, colorful, tasteful and interesting. There is nothing not to love.

What an amazing place to vacation with the family! From sunny mornings on the lifeguarded beach to evening sunsets with hassle-free burgers and cocktails on the landing, everyone in the family had time to relax and unwind. We were thrilled to find access to the kid-friendly bike paths right out the front door: the house is in a perfect location for short rides with the kids to the ice cream shop, or more challenging mountain bike rides on spectacular single track. We'd follow up our daytime adventures with peaceful dinners on the deck, overlooking the gorgeous meadow and lake below. As for the house itself, it's so tastefully furnished and has a wonderful cozy feel to it. Can't wait to go back and sip my morning latte on the sun-dappled window seat!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, families with young children.

The property is lovely and perfect for active families who want privacy and many recreational options, from the fabulous beach/pool area to enjoying the mountains. We were looking for privacy and luxury outside the "hotel" atmosphere and found it in this lovely cabin. We loved having a view of the lake but the meadow right out the back door was the best part. The kids loved playing baseball & soccer and we thought Croquet at cocktail hour is the best. The Chamber’s Landing bar on the dock is a close second though. We loved being just minutes from Tahoe City for walking around town and going out to dinner. Loved the peace and quiet!!! I can't wait to go back!Did you find this review helpful? Our family of seven has stayed at this Chambers Landing unit for the last several summers. WE LOVE IT! Every amenity is provided, grounds and interior are meticulously cared for, plus we value the magic and convenience Chambers Landing has to offer: the pier and attendants, bar, cafe, pool and instructors, tennis, and meadow. We do it all. Too, with 13 acres to roam around in, our children and grands are safe. The bike path and nearby hiking are favorite activities, after the beach.Did you find this review helpful?
