This is our second year staying in this house. We came back for location & size but were really disappointed with the high booking fee for a re-book, that really left a bad taste in our mouth. We didn't have a booking fee last year. Many major things were wrong with the house and some of the problems were resolved after multiple phone calls and a personal stop at the rental office. When we arrived with groceries for 22 people the elevator didn't work. That problem wasnt resolved until 3 days later. The pool was dirty, master bed fan didn't work ( and looked like it was from the 1980's) and the bathrooms & kitchen were very poorly cleaned. When we arrived the cleaning people were sitting outside for 45 minutes doing nothing. Trash was in the kitchen trash can and the refrigerators were not clean. Blood was on the wall of one of the bathrooms and the shower door fell off in the master bedroom the first time we showered. It did not seem as though the upstairs was vacuumed. The grills are full of old pans of grease. The washing machine was loud and sounded like an airplane taking off and the dryer wasnt drying well. Some of the burners don't work on the stovetop and the oven doesn't seem to be heating properly. The handrails going down the steps werent attached which was dangerous. Some of these problems were resoved during the week. The bottom line is this house needs to be deep cleaned and some things updated. We are very upset with the condition of the house - it seems like it needs some tlc besides a good cleaning. Not worth the price!!!Owner response: We take all the reviews of our properties very seriously and take immediate action, as needed. Based on this review, we took the following actions: • We will be engaging a new cleaning service so no future guests will be subjected to a house that has not been cleaned thoroughly. • The washing machine has been replaced. • The stovetop replacements have been ordered. • The elevator is no longer available for use. • The pools are cleaned twice a week, and the maintenance company will make extra trips as needed. Please remember to use VRBO to book your rentals. When a guest books the house through the property management company, as in this case, they pay an additional commission that can be avoided through VRBO. Thank you to all the guests that have taken time to give us feedback.

Location of the house was great, our stay was one week and there were more things we wanted to see and do in the Charleston area than we had time. Upon arrival, we found the swimming pool in need of a good cleaning and a couple of the bathrooms were not as clean as they could have been as well as some of the bedding. There was also a dead sea creature in a bucket on one deck that was not pleasant smelling. We called immediately and shortly someone came to remove the bucket and clean the pool. We took care of the bedding and showers ourselves. We also had to call for propane for the BBQ grill and chalk for the cue sticks. While seemingly minor, these things were disappointing to us for the amount that is charged for the house. After these things were resolved, we ended up having a great time. Go to the Seabiscuit Cafe on the Isle of Palms, great food, great service!Recommended for: Tourists without a car, families with young children, age 55+.

Our extended families (14 people) really enjoyed staying at the Casa Margarita! Everything was set up so well for a large group. We rented stand up paddleboards and bicycles, since the property was right on the beach, and enjoyed the use of the pool for volleyball games. Some of our group went to Luke and Ollie's for lunch a couple days since it is within walking distance. My sister and I played tennis at the public courts as well (get there early if you want to play!) Charleston has so many fun places to visit and we all love to go to Coast restaurant.....great food!!! So much to do and so little time to do it! This was our second summer vacation to the area, having stayed at the Casa Flamingo last year. Once you have a table large enough to seat the whole group, you don't want to seperate the group.Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers.

Spectacular location, great layout for large group. Some of the posters and figures were not G rated, but everything seemed to fit the personality of the house.Eclectic themes in the 10 bedrooms were very interesting to say the least.Best thing I can say is that we booked it again for next year even though it is a bit priceyRecommended for: Tourists without a car, girls getaway, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers.

10 friends gathered together for a scrapping beach getaway over 4 days/3 nights and had the pleasure of staying at Casa Margarita. The owners have decorated each of the 10 rooms with fun, kitschy and interesting items to really give you a sense of being immersed in that theme! Even the bathrooms are decorated! Perfect set up to have two or even three families come and still give everyone their own space/privacy and plenty of 'come together' space as well! Some of the decor leans a bit towards PG-13. One interesting item to note--much of the furniture is bolted to the floor so if you need to move it for any reason, it is staying put. Would NOT work for someone in a wheelchair, but would likely be fine with a walker. I would hesitate to have young children who do not understand not to touch or bang (glass top tables) but well behaved 4 and up would have an amazing time! RIGHT on the shell covered beach, but VERY quiet inside! A pod of dolphins frolicked just a few yards offshore one day and at least a dozen para surfers were out the following day. House was very, very clean, clearly well cared for, well thought out and the bright green color makes it easy to spot if you have wondered down the shore and not realized quite how far you've gotten and and easy beacon to return to! Many little shops and eateries are within walking distance as well, so if you did not have a car for the duration of the time there, you'd be just fine! High tide was basically from dusk to dawn when we were there so it took care of anyone wanting to hang out on the beach at night and possibly making noise after hours, which was a very nice plus! Right over the bridge there is a Target and a number of other shops so anything you forgot, you can easily pick up without having to go too far. Would heartily recommend bringing your bikes--Isle of Palms is a cyclists delight! Interior was very smartly designed. It is 1k sq. ft. bigger than my personal home but felt far more spacious. I had to double check the listing. It walks more like a 6500 sq. ft. house than 5200. Third floor is a fabulous bonus! The giant fridge in the butlers pantry is fantastic and truly allows you to grocery shop for a week and have a place to store it all! This place is very addicting, I know we'll be back!!Recommended for: Tourists without a car, girls getaway, families with young children, romantic getaway, families with teenagers.
