Cozy home with beautiful view. Very small bathroom, but adequate. The ladder leading upstairs is an accident waiting to happen, but we did not use the upstairs at all. It was a wonderful 3 days as far as the weather was concerned. Good location away from the bustle of the downtown area, but close enough that a short drive will get you to town. We would return if we had the chance.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, adventure seekers.

The location, yard, views and comfort of this house were unbelievable. We originally came to the beach for the weekend to go to the Art Fair in Cannon Beach and didn't even make it there! We ended up having a BBQ with friends, enjoying the views, the beach and soaking up the sun. We only left the house to go to the beach. The house is dated, but very comfortable. Our weekend could not have been better. We will definitely be back as soon as possible! I've already inquired about it for another weekend in the near future.Recommended for: Families with young children, families with teenagers, sightseeing, age 55+, adventure seekers, girls getaway.
Owner response: Glad to hear you had such a great time. Thank you for the fantastic review :)

The house was a perfect getaway for my family along with our dog. There were more kitchen amenities than the previous review but I brought my own anyway. The outside grill was great and they had a spare propane tank in case it was needed...good planning. The house was clean, plenty of towels, good wifi and a great fireplace with wood available out in front of the house. The kitchen is small but manageable. My 76 year old mom insisted on sleeping upstairs so that ladder works for the older crowd as long as they're careful...I worried though. Lovely views, quiet neighborhood and all in all a great house to rent. Thanks very much. One note about the beach--there are lots of rocks to the south and a small creek to wade through on the north so there isn't much space to walk unless you want to get wet up to the knees. Teenagers with Xboxes....the TV's are too old to accept USB or HDMI plugs.Recommended for: Families with young children, pet owners, romantic getaway, age 55+.

We enjoyed our four-night stay in Arch Cape. However, this was despite the accommodations, not because of them. Let it be known now, that we are not picky folks. We don’t need much. We’ve traveled quite a bit and stayed in some nice places and some so-so places. So we were more than willing to overlook the general aged look and feel of the place (think old, rusting appliances, dated bathroom, generally shabby appearance of most everything). Heck, the view was great and it was nice and snuggly if not a bit run down. What got to us, though, was the total lack of hospitality shown by whoever is managing the place. Would it have killed you to put some salt in the saltshaker (it was empty)? For that matter, there were no condiments of any kind, save for a couple of nutra-sweet packets lying in the cupboard and a 100-year old can of breadcrumbs. There was literally one match in the matchbook. No garbage bags were provided (can you believe that?). The remote control lacked a battery, rendering the DVD player useless (we found it the next day behind the furniture next to an ancient pistachio nut). There was a single roll of toilet paper provided for 4 days and nights (we had to go buy some of our own). There were no coffee filters. There were only a few towels (though, on our fourth day, we found some, still damp, in the dryer where they had been left). There was no firewood. There was no house “handbook” despite website instructions to close up according to the handbook. Pots and pans were still dirty and had to be washed before being used (yuk!). It was freezing when we first arrived and took hours to warm up. Some light switches worked; others didn’t seem to . . . . it was as if no one could bother to make the place welcoming to guests. On the positive side . . . . did we mention the great view?.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 6/6

Spent another 3 wonderful days at Arch Cape. Never ended up eating out because the kitchen was well appointed and we loved being at the house. Great running on the beach at low tide and watching sunsets from the back yard. The kids loved playing on the grass when we weren't investigating the tide pools at Oswald West State Park. Really relaxed and unwound. Hope to be back soon!Recommended for: Families with young children, families with teenagers, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing, age 55+, adventure seekers, girls getaway.
Owner response: Alway great to have you back. Thanks!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this beach house. The view is spectacular! We spent a good amount of time just lounging in the front room watching waves and enjoying the peace and quiet. Experiencing the sunset out on the lawn was the highlight of the weekend. Great proximity to the path to the beach. Would definitely rent this one again!Recommended for: Families with young children, families with teenagers, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing, age 55+, adventure seekers, girls getaway.
Owner response: Thank you JM! Those are a few of our favorite things to do too!

This house has an amazing view....nothing but ocean out your living room windows! Certainly the biggest part of any trip to the beach. For those of you who are planning on cooking, the kitchen is small, oven and stove very old. If you plan on doing a lot of your own cooking, you may want to know that. Also, the bathroom is very small, but meets basic needs. The property overlooks the beach and ocean atop a cliff/hillside. Overall, a great place to stay with some little inconveniences to be aware of.Recommended for: Pet owners, sightseeing, age 55+, girls getaway.
Owner response: Although the kitchen has an older stove/oven, the appliances are in great working order, very reliable and fully adequate for preparing any meal. The bathroom is small but comfortable. The oceanfront location of the home is wonderful, enjoyed through the picture windows of the living room and from the spacious lawn overlooking the beach.
