CABIN AND MAIN FEATURES
The home has a large deck from which you witness the spectacular view by day of the Shenandoah River and Shenandoah Valley, which is surrounded by mountains full of forests. On the same deck by night you witness the starry night seeing the sky full of stars and planets! Also you can appreciate of all of these marvelous views while enjoy being in a nice hot tub. The home is locally known as “1 Little Vineyard by the River”, since it has a small and developing vineyard and as a result you will see this theme reflected inside the home through its decor. The kitchen, remodeled with marble counters, comes with most of what you need to cook or simply to serve prepared food you bring from area eateries. The living room has a nice flat screen TV and surround sound system where you and your kids can comfortably enjoy different shows or movies or simply play some nice music while you cook or enjoy conversations with your family and friends.

Guests come to either rest or to enjoy the many activities the area offers, which include fishing, hunting, biking, hiking, mountain climbing, swimming or kayaking or canoeing. Those into the civil war will find many important historical sites or battle locations very close by. Guests have access to a private entrance to the Shenandoah River, which is just across from the home. The home is easily accessible from Washington DC or from Northern Virginia. Flights from anywhere in the country are usually reasonable so travel cost should not deter you. Those coming from outside the area will find it easy to travel to the area, since you have three major airports serving the area: Dulles International Airport, Washington Reagan Airport or Baltimore International Airport.
Come and enjoy the peaceful environment here at the home and at the same time have easy access to such notable places as the Smithsonian Museums, Capital, and the White House. Alternatively, you can simply drive down the famous and breathtaking Skyline Drive operated by the U.S. National Park Service, which is minutes from the home. The town of Luray is also an easy 15 minute drive from the home and there you will have access to shopping, restaurants and to the renowned Luray Caverns.
LAYOUT OF CABIN
The cabin sleeps up to 12 persons. For those wanting to know how private the bedrooms are, here is a description of cabin’s layout.
Keep in mind that the cabin is an A-frame cabin with a loft. The cabin has four bedrooms; two bedrooms have total privacy with doors, one that is the loft and offers some privacy and a smaller bedroom with no doors and therefore with little privacy. Here is a further description.
On the main floor is the master bedroom with a door that closes making the bedroom private. It has a queen size bed. You will find the master bathroom right in front of the master bedroom at the end of the hallway.
Also, on the main floor is a smaller bedroom that is between the A-frame portion of the home and the living room and kitchen area. It has three twin size beds, which are ideal for children, teens or single adults. This bedroom does not have a door.
The bedroom in the loft does not have doors, but yet the area is relatively private, since you have to be on the top floor to have clear view of the main bedroom. The loft has a full-size bed and a queen size futon.
The basement is finished and it has a private bedroom with a queen size bed and it has a door that closes with a living area right outside with a couch that converts into a full-size bed. The basement is not closed in, but rather is at the level of the driveway. It has its own private entry and sliding glass doors. So it’s not claustrophobic.
The kitchen is a large kitchen with all the basics provided for doing basic cooking (micro, dishwasher, fridge, dishes, pots and silverware).
The main living room is next to the kitchen and there is where you will find one full bathroom. The living room has a fireplace, flat screen TV (50') with cable and surround sound system.

Fun Relaxing Getaway!
Fun Relaxing Getaway!
My friends and I recently traveled down to celebrate my birthday at this property. We loved the location and the privacy! While the house itself needs a little updating, it provided all that we needed. Great access to the beautiful local Shenandoah Mountains, as well as Luray Caverns. We used the fire pit every night too! The owners were, for the most part, easy to contact and were great when it came to assistance with my refund of my rental deposit. We already can't wait to go back- would highly recommend.

Our group enjoyed our stay at the Little Vineyard cabin. River access was a short walk away, tubes provided were great. Kids enjoyed foosball table. Kitchen was very well equipped with everything we needed to cook. Disappointed in the cleanliness of the cabin. Bedding and towels were fresh and clean, but entire cabin needed a good dusting and a run through with a vacuum. Second bath very cramped. Downstairs bedroom hot and uncomfortable due to no a/c. Cabin is best for smaller groups. Owners very nice and answered emails promptly.

We had a wonderful time, even with the unexpected snow causing our driving time to double. The house was very clean and had everything needed "just like home". The best was the hot tub in 20 degree weather with the snow falling. We will be back.

Relaxing Fall Girls Weekend
Relaxing Fall Girls Weekend
We enjoyed this cabin for an annual girls weekend. At first the house seemed strangely laid out, but we soon appreciated that there was plenty of room for us to spread out. We also enjoyed congregating in the kitchen/dining room for talking and laughing. The kitchen was well stocked with all the dishes, pots and utensils that we needed for our meals. We appreciated the coffeemaker and the gas grill. We found the house clean and comfortably furnished and decorated. The cabin is located in a very scenic area. The Shenandoah River is right across the road and it was nice to listen to it at night, especially from the hot tub! I also enjoyed watching the shadows of the clouds move across the mountain ridges. Several of us took walks down the road. The house boasted an extensive DVD collection, many books, and some puzzles and games. However we overwhelmed the wifi with our laptops and phones, and it hardly worked all weekend. We also learned a lesson the first night when a mouse chewed into and ate two packages of bagels and a package of tortillas. We put our food into a plastic bin at night, after that. Overall it was a great place for a relaxing girls weekend. I can imagine that it would also be great for one or two families with children.

I would highly recommend this home to anyone looking for a place to stay near Luray. The kitchen was Beautiful with lots of space. Very easy access to river. Comfortable furnishings. Hot tub was very nice, even though it was too hot to use it. Sissy & Fernando are the nicest people. We had scheduled our stay for June but when we arrived there had been a large power outage due to a storm that had passed through the area the night before. The insurance we purchased would not cover acts of God but Sissy & Fernando were kind enough to allow us to re-book a different date free of charge! Thanks Sissy & Fernando :-)

Owner response: It is so heartening for us to receive such nice reviews like this one. We have the cabin because we love it and its beautiful setting and views. And it just thrills us when we read of others enjoying the cabin and its amenities. Sissy and I did much of the update on the kitchen installing the marble. We had the love of cooking in mind when we remodeled it. Every year we try to add new features that enhance the cabin and increase our customer's appreciation of it and its setting. And yes, sometimes mother nature does try to spoil our plans. While we have limitations in what we can do when mother nature strikes, we always try to put ourselves in our customer's shoes when they stand to lose a possible enjoyment. We love our guests and hope to continue to demonstrate our appreciation of them.
Our stay at the river house was extremely enjoyable. We had multiple families and everyone stayed comfortably. The house is so close the river where we kayaked, waded, and tubed (in tubes provided by the owners!) We made mountain pies in the fire pit, cooked on the gas grill provided, and enjoyed sitting on the deck with a beautiful view of the mountains and the sound of the river drifting by. There are several well-stocked entertainment centers with tons of DVD's and games. The house is within a short distance of Luray Caverns, Skyline Drive, civil war historical museums and sights, and much more. Lots do to no matter what the weather. The owner, Fernando, was extremely kind and helpful. I forgot a substancial amount of clothing in one of the dressers. He was willing to mail it back to me in a matter of a few days! He was very nice to work with.

I would recommend this home to anyone going to the Luray area! Very close to Luray Caverns and Skyline Drive. It was extremely spacious and clean! Beautiful views from the new hot tub! Wide selection of DVDs to view on cold evenings, by the fireplace. We enjoyed playing the super nintendo, cooking on the grill and in their large, fully equiped kitchen. We can't wait to go back.... it was truly a wonderful, relaxing vacation. PS Fernando, the owner, was extremely nice!!! We forgot some of my dogs favorite toys and he shipped them back to us quickly- My dogs and I thank you!!!

Roomy and comfortable!
Roomy and comfortable!
Lots of room in this family friendly cabin, perched on a small hill against the mountain backdrops. Enjoyed bunny sighting and the sound of the Shenandoah river gurgling by. The cabin was clean and comfy.

Owner response: Thank you so very much for the review! As owner, I try to think of the characteristics of the cabin that our guests would enjoy and sometimes we overlook such things as the bunnies and sound of the river. Bonnie our housekeeper will be so pleased to hear of her fine work! Thank you for pointing such things nice characteristics along with the cabin's family friendliness. Thank you! We look forward to welcoming you again in the near future! Fernando, Owner
Great Place Great Owner!
Great Place Great Owner!
A few friends and I rented this place over new years and it was fantastic! The house is quite roomy, and the views are really great. There's a super-nintendo in the lower part of the house, right next to the wood burning fireplace - which is a nice touch. The house is also equipped with a huge flat screen TV with surround sound - so bring those movies! If I had to say something negative, it would be that the foosball table is unusable and is quite old, other than that everything was great...oh, and the huge deck is awesome! I had to contact the owner after we left because we had left several things at the house by accident. He got back to me immediately and shipped the package full of our things. He is very responsive and friendly. I look forward to the hot tub he is adding to the house soon! I'd rent this house again.

Year Purchased: 2004
About the owner: I grew up on a ranch in a rural part of California. Traveling often to Washington DC I found it was a perfect place to stay in touch with nature and to be in a peaceful environment far from the busy urban world. Yet I liked having access to Washington DC, which has all the entertainment one can possibly have from any large city.
Why the Owner Chose Luray:
I chose this place because it is full of nature and beauty, which it affords access to the nation’s capital. Whether one wishes to take it easy and just let time stop or be active in water sports or hiking, this place is ideal for both. I cannot think of a more beautiful home for getting away from it all!
The Unique Benefits at this Cabin:
Guests have access to a private entrance to the Shenandoah River, which is just across the home. The area was recently designated a national landmark by the U.S. Department of Interior because of its beauty and historical importance. In particular, a favorite activity is to take the Skyline Drive, which is operated by the National Park Service. Alternatively, visit the Luray Caverns, which is just a 15 minute drive from the home. Shopping and restaurants are just 15 minutes from the home.
