Location: Longville, Northwest, Minnesota, USA (Located Near Longville, About 45 Minutes North of Brainerd)
Accommodations: Cabin, 3 Bedrooms + Loft, 1 Bath (Sleeps 6-8)
Our cabin is located 3 hours north of the Twin Cities. We built it in 2007 on 3.5 acres of wooded land with 225 feet of lakeshore. The cabin is very private and away from any busy roads, yet within 5 minutes of Longville, making it easy to get groceries (or ice cream cones;).
Longeville is a small town that has a lot of character. Longville offers many things: Gas, Groceries, Marine Shop, Movie Rental, Antiques, Ice Cream Shop, Restaurants, Mini Golf, Tennis, Golf and most importantly Turtle Races every Wednesday during the summer.
Little Boy Lake is well known for its excellent Fishing: Walleye, Muskies, Small Mouth Bass and Crappies. Little Boy is also connected to Wabedo Lake which is similar in size. The water clarity is excellent for water sports and swimming.
Kids will love the hard sand bottom swimming area of our lakeshore without any weeds! Our property is close to county land, publicly used for ATVs, snowmobiling, hunting, hiking, fishing, and cross country skiing.
Even on rainy days there is plenty to do: Play cards, games, watch movies, foosball, darts or go to town shopping.

Owner's Profile
Owner Description
Year Purchased: 2007
My husband and I grew up in the "Land of 10,000 Lakes" (Minnesota) and are very familiar with northern Minnesota. We fell in love with "Up North" because of its beauty, wildlife and the relaxation that it brought us. For many years we would simply visit other friends at their cabins. Then one year we rented a cabin and found out how wonderful it was to have time with just our family "up north." That's when we decided to build our own Cozy Cabin on Little Boy. We hope you too fall in love with "Up North." Liz and Troy, Minneapolis, MN
Why the Owner Chose Longville
We chose just north of the Brainerd Lakes Area for its beauty and specifically wanted a lake that was large enough for watersports in addition had good water clarity and excellent fishing. We found Little Boy Lake to be the perfect combination. Little Boy Lake is also connected to Wabedo Lake, providing an additional element of exploration. We found a 3.5 acre lot that was very private and had 225 feet of excellent lakeshore without weeds, just hard sand and boulders. This spot was also only 5 miles from town which has been convenient for groceries and gas (and the daily ice cream cone).
The Unique Benefits of this Cabin
Walking out to the lake in the early morning with coffee in hand. Taking a hike in the woods or down our driveway and looking for wild raspberries. Taking a nap in the hammock with room for two ;). Lake activities all day; kayaking, canoeing, fishing, water sports, swimming. Going to town for an ice cream cone or to play tennis/golf/mini golf. Watching the sunset over the lake at the end of the dock. Story telling by late night campfires. On rainy days; playing cards, games, foosball, darts, movies, or going to town for antique shopping.

We enjoyed our stay. The property and amenities were better than described online. Nice, quiet, and relaxing. Correspondence with the owners was super easy and efficient. Well thought out accommodations etc...The price is right on and if you want modern furnishings and privacy this is your next vacation. Our fishing was excellent and we definitely recommend following the lake maps and suggestions from the locals. Not having internet, tv, or AM radio was not that bad except the morning severe weather rolled through. (we picked up FM stations but they are not as informative as AM) It was somewhat uncomfortable not knowing those conditions immediately. Air conditioning would have been nice but plenty of fans help circulate the air. We plan on coming back in 2011 with more of our family in tow.
Recommended for:Families with young children, romantic getaway, sightseeing, adventure seekers, girls getaway, families with teenagers, pet owners.
