Our family (7 adults: ages 72, 68, 44, 41, 38, 36, & 35) and 5 children: all boys ages 10, 7, 6, 3, &1) stayed in this wonderful home from March 20 through April 1, 2013 when we all skied at Snowmass. We had good snow conditions so we were able to "ski in" and use the drop-off 1/10 mile away. It was very convenient, especially wonderful to enter our car in the garage, drive down to the parking garage after dropping off the small children at the Tree House, and return home and just open the garage with the remote. The close garage was also useful when we brought groceries home. No great length of steps to climb. It was very convenient with very little walking. The older children and adults returned to the house via the Green Cabin Run. We loved the large dining table as we ate in every night. There was so much fun at these family dinners, everyone just talked. The hot tub was perfect for an after-ski activity for the children, who also loved to build and play in their snow fort outside. We ate breakfast at the kitchen table and it was great to have that choice. The small table in the living room was fun as a work table for the children. The spaciousness of the house provided lots of room for everyone. We even had an Easter Egg Hunt in the Living Room on Easter Sunday. We watched one movie in the Lower Level and were glad that there were not televisions everywhere. This is an older home and not as expensive as others, and that was wonderful, too. We took our family picture on the upper deck and it will always be a reminder of our wonderful family vacation in 2013. We thank the Oakley's very much! Del and Mary P.S. Also, the local agent was very responsive and helpful in answering our questions. The fabulous vista from the house of the Snowmass mountains will stay with us in our memories forever.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: I agree, it is the perfect home for all ages, large or small groups and what a fun place for an "Easter egg hunt"! The home is luxurious and at the same time "family/kid friendly". The arrangement even allows smaller groups a "cozy" feeling in a large house. This home has hosted many family reunions, work retreats, weddings and large gatherings, as well as couples. The snow this year was amazing, and I bet the "snow fort" will be a special memory as well. This home is great year round, with the autumn colors and summer green with the majestic views and so many activities all year long. Come see us again!

We stayed at this beautiful vacation home in Snowmass for a weekend, it had this panoramic view of the mountains and ski slopes. We brought friends with us, who were pleasantly surprised by how beautiful and luxurious our accomodations were. We all discovered the beauty and magic of Snowmass in the comfort of your home away from home. The sure beauty of the mountain makes every ski day here unforgettable. We skied and had fantastic time. There are never lines and the amount of diverse terrain is amazing. On our third day we endured a winter storm that brought so much heavy snow, it covered our landscape. But, we were indoors on that particular day. I mean, who doesn't enjoy a nice, relaxing snow day, just sitting by the fire, in a secluded, secure snow cabin...right? The living room offered large view windows with panoramic vistas and a relaxing mountain decor. There is also a wonderfully decorated kitchen & dining room (very well supplied with more than enough utensils and dining ware), a game room with a large screen TV, a private outdoor hottub with majestic views, 2 car garage, and the most spacious, comfortable bedrooms (some including fireplaces!). We had a great time, very relaxing! We cannot thank you enough for our little dream vacation, in you lovely home!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, people with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: I agree! The views are amazing from every angle. The home is so comfortable, relaxing and cozy, even though is it nearly 5,000 square feet! The design makes each level feel inviting and private. Being at nearly the top of the mountain makes it feel "secluded" even with neighbors around. You don't have to be a skier to enjoy this "home away from home." Thanks for the nice comment.

We just returned from a 6 day ski trip with 3 teenage boys and stayed in this wonderful home. With more than enough space to spread out, we still felt cozy and very comfortable. The property was clean, well maintained, and had all immediate supplies needed before we had to make a trip to the grocery store. The owner was delightful and kind, and more than helpful in answering any questions we had prior to the trip. We mostly skiied Snowmass as we were right on the mountain--gorgeous views!!!--but Aspen was only a short drive away. Fantastic skiing and a warm and inviting place to come home to made this a very treasured and memorable trip for us. Thanks so much for sharing your home!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with teenagers, families with young children, sightseeing.
Owner response: This home is great for teenagers, as they can "hang out" in the basement entertainment area (with the outside hot tub close by) and feel completely independent, yet the gathering spaces are perfect for large groups and "get togethers." The views are indeed stunning and the home is inviting and welcoming! This home lends itself to all ages and ski abilities-some even like to just enjoy the views, hot tub and a good book! Thank you for your comments.

We are a group of 4 men who have gone on week long ski trips together for over 30 years. We have stayed in many mountain homes, and this one certainly rates as one of the best! This house and the accommodations were excellent and satisfied all of our requirements. We enjoyed the common areas together and could retreat to the privacy and comfort of our separate bedrooms; each on separate levels.Owner response: I agree, the house is great for meeting (large groups or small) and the design of the house lends itself to privacy as well! The skiing and year round views are truly "majestic." This comment "says it all", thank you!

Oakley's home was great. Plenty of room for our families from Colorado, California, Arizona and Illinois to reunite for niece's wedding. Kitchen well equipped. Great spaces for all activies and lots of seating. Art work was wonderful - especially enjoyed the handmade tiles in the kitchen. It felt like home. Thanks.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Thank you for your comment. This home is perfect for weddings with plenty of space and seating for large groups! The artwork throughout the house reflects the southwest and brings that feeling to Aspen. A family artist hand painted all the kitchen tiles! It truly is spectacular and unique as well as "homey."

We had the most wonderful time staying in this beautiful home. It was spotless and comfortable. We spent a lot of time sitting on the deck, looking at the gorgeous view, surrounded by golden aspens. The home is perfect for families. We loved hiking and fly fishing nearby. While there are good restaurants close by, after full days of activity, we just wanted to relax and enjoy the comfort and beauty of the home and the views from the deck. We had an amazing time!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: I agree, sitting on the deck and admiring the view is right up there with the best entertainment the area has to offer. It is so gorgeous during the late summer and early fall when the leaves begin to change, almost surreal. The hiking and fishing are amazing too!

My organization had the privilege of staying at this beautiful home in Snowmass during our staff retreat. This was my second visit to the Oakley home. Last year was a blast, but this years’ experience was even more special. I have a lot on my plate, and the ability to get away from the non-stop action here in Denver allowed me to truly envision BIG ideas for my organization's success. I have lived in Denver my entire life, but my family has never been to the mountains. The beautiful mountain views from various locations at the home were truly a sight to see. At night the stars seem to shine much brighter than in the city. The kitchen and dining room designs are unique, yet welcoming to make you feel at home. The living room has a beautiful valley view, and the bedrooms were comfortable and spacious. Our trip wasn’t all work. There are so many attractions, shops, and restaurants to visit. I went mountain biking for the first time as well. What a great experience that was! I can’t thank you enough. None of this would have been possible without you. You’re the best!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Thank you for your comments. The house is indeed unique and difficult to describe. The views from all over the house are stunning. The most recent addition is the view from the front living room window of the reservoir where the prehistoric dig took place. History all around us and just a few hours away from Denver. It is a great escape from the city and allows us to relax and recharge.

The house was very large, nicely decorated and so comfortable. Adults and children in our group really liked the large living room and kitchen area with lots of seating for everyone. The deck had lots of seating too and very nice views of the area. Our entire family enjoyed the rafting on the Colorado River and the rodeo at Snowmass with our one granddaughter winning the mutton busting contest. We also enjoyed hiking in the area. The owner was very accommodating and answered any questions we had very promptly.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Thank you so much for your comments! There are so many activities to do in the summer including the rodeo, hiking and rafting among other activities and of course the views in the summer (and all year long) are amazing. I agree that the house allows for large groups to get together with ample seating for everyone. It is a large house, but each level has a cozy feel to it. Keep us in mind for future travels. Sue

The Oakley's house is a GREAT place for 2 families to vacation together. The common space was awesome, the kitchen roomy and very well equipped. Fantastic to watch the sunset over the mountains from the hot tub on the deck after a day of skiing! Skiing-in is fairly easy, skiing out a little trickier -- especially if there isn't much snow. All-in-all-- a fabulous vacation rental!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children.
Owner response: Thank you so much for the comment! It really is perfect for large groups, or even couples! The mountain views are indeed stunning, especially the sunsets. I am so glad that you enjoyed your stay. I appreciate your comment about ski in/out. It is challenging, but as some have said, "quite the adventure". Come and see us again! Sue

Our family has stayed in the beautiful Oakley home in Snowmass twice (summer and winter). The location is perfect, easily accessible, and with stunning views of the majestic mountains of Snowmass. We were lucky enough to stay here this Spring Break for unbelievable skiing, and loved every minute of it! The home is elegantly decorated and maintained, down to every detail. It is well-designed, and spacious enough to accommodate several families without feeling crowded. Loved the kitchen (pre-stocked, they thought of everything), and the expansive living area with a beautiful fireplace has mountain views right out of comfy red chairs. Hard to beat the decks at this house, which overlook the ski area, perfect for barbeques and soaking up the sun. The teenagers and kids absolutely loved the huge den (movies, bumper pool, games), which also had a full-service wet-bar. The hot tub (state-of-the-art), has its own deck and was perfect touch at the end of the day. During the summer, the wildflowers in this area are simply spectacular and we hiked, explored, went to town (quick access) and returned to enjoy drinks and dinner with amazing sunsets. The owners are wonderful, gracious, and have thought of everything! We’ve stayed at numerous Colorado ski destinations, hotels, and VRBOs, and this is by far our favorite!!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, people with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Thank you for the review! I am glad that you have had the chance to visit during the summer and winter, as every season is gorgeous. You have summarized the property and area accurately and I appreciate your comments. Come see us again!

We had the pleasure of staying here this summer for 5 nights with a large group and it was absolutely perfect. The views are stunning, enormous kitchen, bedrooms and baths are all very tastefully done and the layout of the home was ideal for a large group. Huge deck that overlooks the slopes and it was a perfect starting point to mountain bike or hike on the mountain, with the hot tub awaiting afterwards! Snowmass Village with its shops and dining was great and the proximity to Aspen was nice as well. A terrific property all the way around.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, people with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Thank you for your comment! This is an accurate portrayal of this majestic home. It does lend itselt to a large group and the proximity to Aspen is nice.

This is a fabulous home with incredible views of Snowmass. The house is big enough to have privacy but cozy enough to sit in the livingroom in the overstuffed chairs and relax in front of the fireplace. The kitchen is great for cooking and is right next to a large dining table big enough to accommodate everyone. You can walk to hiking trails, mountain bike or just hang out on the porch and read. It is a perfect mountain retreat.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Thank you for your response! I love the overstuffed chairs too. It is as wonderful in the summer and fall as it is in the winter during the ski season. There is always something to do!

I recently had the opportunity to visit Snowmass in the summer and stayed at this beautiful home overlooking the ski slopes. The house is spacious and comfortably decorated. There's lots of space for relaxing. A fantastic deck and a great room with large fire place. The master bedrooms upstairs are very large and have their own bathrooms. The two lower-level rooms are great for kids and the beds are comfortable. The kitchen is a great size and overlooks the dining room. The open floor plan is perfect for large families or gatherings. Also, the house is very well accessorized - you'll want for nothing in this fantastic mountain get-away!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Thank you for your comment. I agree, it is a great home for large families and gatherings. Kids of every age can have "adventures" in and around the house year round!

My wife and I recently stayed at the Oakley casa in Snowmass, and we had a wonderful time. The pictures of this home don't do the house or the location enough justice; it is far more spectacular than you can imagine! For starters, the layout of the house is expansive and well-designed. You can easily host a family reunion (as we did of sorts) or invite a group of friends to share the experience of the house without bumping into each other. The kitchen is huge and pre-stocked with everything you need for cooking everything and anything. There is a large gas grill on the deck out back that we used almost every night we were there, which also doubled as a great place to make S'mores. Speaking of decks, the main deck opens up from the dining room french doors and overlooks the main ski slope. The master bedroom has a private balcony as well, where I spent some time reading and drinking coffee early in the morning in complete privacy. Oh, and the master suite has its own fireplace (I think there are gas fireplaces spread throughout the house - but since we were there in the summer, we didn't use them). Of course, there is also a huge hot tub on its own deck that is connected to the bottom level. On that level, there is a huge den that can seat a dozen people or so to watch movies or make drinks at the built-in wet bar. And this isn't a small, stand-alone bar in the corner; it is a full-service bar with sink, shelves, and glasses. There is plenty of hiking, quick access to the town village, and fun gondola rides to take in the evenings. The sunsets are amazing, which we watched every night while eating dinner on the back deck (did I mention there is a swing built out of a ski lift on the back deck? Pretty fun for the kids). Overall, this is one of the homiest, roomiest, and funnest places we've ever stayed and we'll definitely be back. You will definitely not regret staying here!!!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Thank you for your comment. I hadn't thought of having S'mores on the grill before! Great idea...I agree that pictures do not do this home justice!! One has to be there to appreciate the majestic beauty. The deck at sunset or sunrise is absolutely stunning. The full bar downstairs also includes a mini fridge (unstocked) and I agree that bar/entertainment room is large enough for a big group and at the same time is very cozy! You expressed the beauty of the house very accurately.

This place is absolutely gorgeous! The views are breath taking! There is nothing better than to sit on the patio or balcony with a warm cup of coffee to watch the sun rise over the mountains. I can't wait to go back!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Thank you for your response! I agree that it is a "home away from home" with the ammenities and cozy feeling, yet privacy and ample space. The views are spectacular from any of the decks (bedrooms and dining room) any time of day! The sunsets and sunrises are breathtaking!

What a beautiful home to spend time in for my 4 days in Snowmass. Every room is decorated to elegant and I felt I was right at home. The view is breath taking. I could have sat in the huge, comfy red chairs all day, but you can't help but get out and play, whether it be with the leaves or snow. You also can't help but love the hot tub. Great for cooler nights or just to relax. Loved the size of the house. Enough to have adventures but not too big you get lost. And most importantly the owners are so wonderful, who wouldn't want to visit this relaxing vacation home in any season... and I've seen it through every season.Did you find this review helpful?
