Set on one hectare of land, Les Pains Perdus is nestled among olive, almond and cherry trees. Lavender plants line the driveway and a large cypress tree shades the house.
The house has a well-equipped kitchen and both indoor and outdoor dining areas. In the main house, there is a bedroom with a full-sized bed and another bedroom with two twin beds. A toilet room and separate shower room are in the main house, as well as a separate bath room adjacent to the master bedroom. A loft overlooking the living room has a twin bed and a fold-out couch. The chambre d'amis, with its own entrance near the pool, has a double bed and its own bathroom with a shower.
A large laundry room has a washing machine and a fold-out couch for additional sleeping quarters.
Outside, a porch with a dining table and wood grill overlooks the swimming pool. The pool is large and deep (a caution to those with very young children) with two immersion pool alarms. There is also a ping-pong table and pètanque balls for leisure fun. Indoors, there is a stereo with iPod hook-up, a new flat screen TV with DVD player, and Orange wireless "livebox" for internet access. There are a variety of books and games for children and adults alike.
Les Pains Perdus is situated below the medieval village of Saignon. Walk the village’s narrow ruelles; breakfast at Chez Christine; have a drink at the Auberge du Presbytere in the Place de la Fontaine; dine or lunch in one of the several excellent restaurants.
Apt, a town of 11,500, has all services, including supermarkets, cafes, restaurants, an excellent wine shop (La Cave du Septier), banks, bakeries, book stores, movie theater, art supplies, cheese shops, butchers, etc. Apt lies just 4 km West of Saignon.
En plein Luberon, you will find hikes of varying intensity and length and excellent cycling routes. Le Mont Ventoux, Ile sur la Sorgue, Bonnieux, Lacoste, Menerbe, Cereste, Foracalquier, Roussillon, Gorde and Avignon are all within 1 hour of Saignon and offer a variety of sites and experiences of Provence. We have four adult and 2 children's bikes with helmets available for your use.

Dennis and Annabelle, Sadly we depart tomorrow morning from Provence. We have truly enjoyed your lovely home. Your home has been a fabulous base to enjoy this area. We have visited Aix, Avignon, Menerbes, Saignon, Les Beau, Orange, Chateauneuf Du Pape, many other villages, Cassis, Boat trip to Les Calanques, Routes des Cartes, had amazing picnic lunches, enjoyed CdP La Nerthe Cuvee des Cadettes wine with dinners on your beautiful outdoor patio, played boccee ball in your yard, kayaked on les Gords, and did a hot air balloon trip from Jancou. Your home really met all our needs and I see why you chose to be here. We are so jealous!! We are off to Paris tomorrow for four nights. Thank-you again for sharing your lovely home.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Dear Annabelle and Dennis, We spent an amazing week in Provence. The weather was perfect, the natives were warm and your home was inviting. Thank you for sharing with us your wonderful paradise tucked away in the mist of greens, villages and the smells of lavander. "Les Pains Perdu" is quite a unique place and I am interested to know how you came about this and about the renovations involved. We followed your suggestion for visits to Roussillon, Gordes, Menerbes, Buoux,Vieux Opede, and of course made it a point to discover the lovely village of Saignon. Leo and Camille especially liked having a swimming pool with toys all to themselves. Kinds regards, ElizabethDid you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Dear Annabelle, We had a wonderful holiday at your house and I wanted to thank you very much.It was all just right - the house, the garden and pool and the area. We enjoyed our walk to Saignon each morning for our baguette - feeling good about the uphill climb! Charlotte was great - my brother had a crisis with his teeth and I phoned her to see if she could help with a dentist - not really expecting anything in the short time he was there. But she managed to get an appointment with an excellent dentist - it wouldn't happen at home! Ian would like to add that the pool was fantastic and we swam most days. We are now in Paris for a few days, missing Provence! I shall be in touch when we get home, Best wishes, And thanks, AmandaDid you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0
