  We stayed here for a long weekend when we traveled from upstate NY to Lake Lure for a family wedding. Rick, the owner, was friendly and helpful.The house was clean and well stocked with plenty of room for the 5 of us. The ranch style layout, with no steps to navigate, was perfect for my elderly father - exactly what we were looking for! Thank you. :-)

  The property definitely lives up to its name, "Viewtiful". The view of Lake Lure, nearby Rumbling Bald Mountain and Hickory Nut Gorge from the family room and rear patio is stunning (the actual view looks nicer than the pictures). The home was clean and the grounds were nice looking (including the Koi pond). The home sits on over 7 acres and offers a nice sense of privacy, yet it is located close to recreation (hiking, golf courses, boating), casual restaurants (Point of View, Larkin's), a grocery store (Ingles), and Lake Lure/Chimney Rock restaurants and funky shops. The area's atmosphere is laid back and rather enjoyable. The owner and manager were informative and helpful. I would definitely recommend this property to friends and family. I've stayed twice there and would do so again, with pleasure.

  We stayed here for two weeks and didn't want to leave. It is in a great location with a great view of the lake. My 85 year old mother and 7 year old daughter both loved it. It was relaxing for the adults and there were many activities nearby for my daughter: zip lines, rafting, horseback riding, rock climbing, fishing and of course, swimming. All of our dealings with the property manager and owner were very pleasant and they were very responsive to any questions. The house was clean, had every amenity and was very comfortable. Overall, a great stay!

  This is an amazing house for families with kids and dogs. We had a great time. House had everything one needs. Close to a lot of fun activities for kids and adults. The lake Lure fireworks were Spactacular and we felt like we had the best seat in the house. Direct view from the backyard with the firepit and s'mores. We couldn't ask for anything more. We also appreciate that even small hick ups were handled promptly and professionally. We hope to be back soon.

  My family had a quick weekend at Lake Lure. It was terrific. We hiked up Chimney Rock and saw Hickory Falls, then we went swimming in the Broad River, in a great swimming hole behind a motel. We then drove into Asheville and had a great dinner at "Fishbones". I'm sure we'll go back someday. Thank you so much. The house was great!

  My family and I decided to take my 80 year old grandfather, who is in a wheelchair, to the mountains. Rick the owner, and the house manager where two of the most polite and sweet people I have ever spoke to. They let me know that they wanted my family and I to have a great time, and they made sure we did. The house is great, it is very clean and secluded on a little private peak! The views are breathtaking! The beds were very comfortable, and the fire pit was great for making s-mores! My husband and I feel asleep in the hammock listening to the waterfall while the sunset, man I wish I was still there! The layout of the let allowed me to let my dogs off leash, they loved it as well! I am telling everyone I know about how great this place was! I will be back!

  This review is a bit delayed! But with the military and such, we have been just so busy and we honestly kept putting it off! But here is a much deserved review! My husband and I were married here on October 31, 2010. So needless to say, this place will always hold a special place in our hearts. Lots of beautiful memories here. The cabin was so beautiful and perfect for our wedding. We had a small intimate ceremony outside by trees and ivy. The spot was absolutely magical. Our ceremony was nature/wiccan based and we could have never asked for a more perfect place. Our wedding photos came out wonderful with the mountain back drop and the long curvy drive covered in fall leaves. The owner left us champagne chilled and 2 champagne glasses and a cheesecake for two that said, "Congratulations!" on the counter. So when we arrived it was there and it was a very sweet thing because we didn't have a wedding cake made or anything. So thank you for that! We really appreciated it! Also, our dog is our baby and we were so thankful that this place offered everything that we wanted, including allowing our dog to be there with us for our ceremony! She goes everywhere with us! We definitely want to stay here again for our anniversary or just to stay there. Thank you for the wonderful cabin rental! We began our life together as husband and wife there, it will always be so very special to us!

  Thanks, Rick, for allowing us to stay in your lovely cottage. It was so well appointed, it felt like being at home! Plus the cottage was convenient to Chimney Rock Village, Chimney Rock State Park, and the Lake Lure town walking trails. Our kids and our dogs had a wonderful time scouting around the property and the evenings on the terrace making smores while overlooking the mountain and lake vistas were perfect. We will definately be back next year, if not before. Thanks again!

  If you're looking for privacy and a fantastic view - stop right here. This home is exacly as described - everything you need has been provided. It's very easy to get to (no long and winding roads) and you can pull your car right up to the home, which makes unpacking, coming and going very easy. We enjoyed ending our days on the patio overlooking the lake, with the gentle sound of a waterfall filling the koi pond. You're only about 10-15 minutes from the towns of Lake Lure and Chimney Rock. Be sure to eat at Genny's in Chimney Rock and LaStrada in Lake Lure. You will not be disappointed. We've already recommended this home to several friends and look forward to visiting again. Thanks, Rick for providing a wonderful retreat.

  more beautiful than we thought it would be. everything we possibly needed or wanted was supplied, which is hard to find if you go to some of the eastern Tennessee cabins. quiet, beautiful, restful. we spent Thanksgiving there and it was perfect. the kitchen had VERY nice appliances which is something else missing in other properties, so we cooked as if we were at home. we actually took our Christmas card picture in the back yard with the lake and mountains in the background! t his spring/summer we plan another trip.
