Imagine.....
Waking up to the haunting call of the loon across the shimmering moonlit water, fresh morning coffee on the deck surrounded by trees alive with bird calls and animal chatter. Perhaps catching breakfast pan fish off the dock or rowing out a short distance from shore.
After a hearty meal around the old family table, a pleasant hike to the east side of the lake to visit the grounds of Camp Courage, back for a refreshing swim and a little sunbathing as the day warms. Maybe a nap follows lunch, or quiet time for reading, before more water fun... boating, canoeing, water skiing? Then, lawn games like croquet or boche ball, or a short walk to Schroeder Park where there is playground equipment and volleyball on their sandy beach.
Dinner....corn on the cob from a nearby field, burgers grilled on the deck, watermelon...you remain outdoors to bask as the setting sun dazzles the dancing water as well as the sky. Dropping into bed, that haunting cry of the loon again as visions of a perfect summer day entertain your dreams.

Owner Description
Year Purchased: 1943
Bob's parents built the Cedar Lake cabin in 1943; he grew up spending summers "at the lake." He and Karen honeymooned there in 1963, and their three children also spent summers growing up "at the lake." Following retirement from teaching, Bob and Karen moved north to Grand Marais where they have a small cabin on the Gunflint Trail. With children scattered, the Cedar Lake cabin is only used occasionally, so it is time to share this opportunity for others to spend idyllic summer days "at the lake."
Why the Owner Chose Annandale
Bob's parents selected the Cedar Lake location because of its proximity to the Twin Cities metro area and for the size and quality of the lake. They had the foresight to buy an additional lot to provide space and privacy. High on the bank of the lake, the view is spectacular and the old trees provide shaded habitat for wildlife.
The Unique Benefits of this Cabin
The Lohn family cabin exudes charm and history. An original slat wall holds a collection of hats gathered through the decades. The front picture window from a local meat shop still reveals a faint trace of lettering in certain light. As the family grew, so did the cabin as a bathroom, a porch, and a deck were added. Old charm provides a true "cabin" experience, the feel of the woods with a sense of privacy though close to the city and to other activities.

I am going to have to agree 100% with Munce, this cabin was wonderful. We loved everything about it, and it made it the best girls weekend ever. We look forward to spending another weekend there next year! Even though we did not have our children there, it would work great for a family vacation, which we are thinking about doing next year as well.
Recommended for:People with disabilities, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, sightseeing, tourists without a car, pet owners, age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, families with young children.

This cabin is an absolute haven! We had a much needed "girl's weekend" and could not have chosen a better place. The cabin is adorable and welcoming, the lake was clear & warm, and the owners could not have been more accommodating! This is a little gem for sure!!!
Recommended for:Families with teenagers, girls getaway.
