  We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this cottage, and we were sorry to leave. We felt so rested and rejuvenated by the time we left, it was hard to believe we had only been there for 3 nights. I thought it might have been so refreshing because not only did we feel like we were getting away from it all, but we also felt like we had stepped back in time. The house did remind me of my grandmother's house, except it had all the modern conveniences. It was the best of both worlds. On our second night, a fierce storm rolled in that lasted most of the night. The winds were howling and rain was blowing against the house really hard, but the house was like a rock. That is one sturdy little house, and we felt very safe there. Monica, the owner, was very gracious to us and was always just a phone call away. Because it got so cold during our stay, we wanted to light the fireplace, but we were having trouble doing so. Monica came over and got it going. The fire in the fireplace made things unbelievably cozy on such a cold day. And I can't forget about the baked goods, all homemade. We even got homemade wild grape jelly for our biscuits. There was also banana bread and Panforte (I think that's what it's called). All was totally delish. We enjoyed going to the "Peachtree Tea Room" for lunch, and we also went to the restaurant at "The Herb Farm". The Pioneer Museum was very interesting too. The town with all the shops and restaurants was only 10 or so minutes away. We are city people and had never spent time in the open countryside. Before arriving, I didn't know what to expect or how I would like it, but I have to say this turned out to be one of my favorite vacations that I can remember.

  We had a wonderful time. Everlything was as described and we are looking forward to another visit. We expecially appreciated the snacks and treats that were left for us. I would certainly recommend staying here to our friends.

  We absolutely fell in love with this clean, quaint, cozy cottage. It was so peaceful and secluded yet close enough to town and all area attractions. We stayed here with another couple and the set up was perfect with the 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms with to die for champagne spa tubs. Monica was such a delight and she really strives to make your visit great. Her home baked goods (pear muffins, cherry chocolate cake, buttermilk biscuits, and a blueberry coffee cake) were so delicious. She even stocked the fridge with Blue Bell ice cream, milk, eggs, orange juice and cereals. I think we all gained 5 pounds over our stay here! Monica's attention to detail is outstanding from stocked candy jars & York mint patties by each bed to plush bath robes and showers with 2 shower heads. The big flat screen tv with Dish satellite was great and came in handy as we had one rainy day that kept us in for awhile. Be sure to take the short walk to the Pedernales River and keep your eye out for deer - they are everywhere! We also enjoyed the Wildseed Flower Farm and driving the Willow City Loop. Monica, you are the best and we will definitely be back again!

  We came back for our second stay at Among The Crepe Myrtles. We had our girls trip last April and loved the little house so much we brought back the hubby's for Valentine's Weekend, We so love the attention to detail and the cleanliness of everything. The house is just gorgeous and all the little areas to sit and relax were perfect. We did the Wine Lovers Trail and we ALL had so much fun. (even the guys) Monica is a perfect host and her homes are amazing! We will always be back.

  Just spent a long weekend at Among the Crepe Myrtles and we got to bring our dogs! We ALL enjoyed it! Among the Crepe Myrtles farmhouse is so charming, quaint, very clean, inviting. It's like stepping back in time BUT with ALL the modern luxuries! The owners did a fabulous job with the remodeling, the bathrooms are out of this world -- better than the photos can show! Monica answered all of our questions before the trip and made sure we had a way to contact them if we needed anything! Very accommodating and friendly! AND she spoiled us with the best home-made biscuits, zucchini bread and brownies - YUM! & Thank you! The property is on land with areas for walking and enjoying the outdoors, such a peaceful environment and private. Our stay was all that we wanted and better than we expected -- relaxation, the quiet peace of the outdoors, good food, good times... and it is close to many wineries! I kept saying... I want to live here!! :) Highly recommend. We'll be back!!

• The perfect getaway!

  My husband and I just recently visited "Among the Crepe Mrytles" this past weekend for my birthday. It was the perfect getaway! When we arrived,there were delicious homemade baked goods waiting for us with a personalized note from the owner, wishing me a happy birthday. The house was very clean and had great character. Each bedroom has huge champagne spa bathtub that is super relaxing! My husband and I woke up early each morning to take a walk around the ranch. There is river that runs through the property that is a short walk. Very peaceful. The property is about 10 minutes from downtown and litteraly 5 minutes from all of the wineries. Perfect location! The house is equipped with a grill and cooking utensils. So, we ended up grilling dinner at the house one night and had a candle lit dinner overlooking thousands of stars. Afterwards, we enjoyed the large hot tub on the deck! I would recommend this place to anyone that is looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city. It was a great romantic getaway!

  From the time I made the reservation to the moment we left was a great experience. Talking to Monica on the phone was so pleasant and I felt she really wanted you to know she was there if you needed anything. The house was beautiful, clean and stocked with nice snacks. My wife thought I told Monica what to stock for us to snack on since all of it was my favorite i.e. chocolate ice cream, chocolate candy, homemade bisquites, eggs and a variety of cereals. So plenty of sweets, nice hot tub in a nice romantic setting, great deer to take pictures of and I was able to watch the Texas Rangers play some good ball on TV. Very peaceful and our friends from Iowa could not stop raving about how much they loved the time we spent there. Thanks Monica for a great place to relax and enjoy your hospitality. We will try to stay here every time we visit that beautiful area. Thank You again for you being such a great host. Ken Taylor

  Wow! What an amazing experience. We traveled here with our friends from Texas for a two night stay . We arrived on our motorcycles and took a step back in time with all the modern conveniences included. It was beautiful, relaxing and quaint. Personal attention had been given to every fine detail - stocked refrigerator, bedside York mint patties, full candy jar, homemade bread, biscuits and jelly on the table. It was like visiting your favorite relative! Loved all the outside areas to relax in, especially the hot tub. Already trying to figure out when we can comeback, Thanks again !

  We got lost arriving late Tuesday night, out under the stars and the quiet fields with the cooler summer breeze. Didn't matter. The house was ready for us. All the lights were on, even the mini-bulbs around the hot tub. Everything was pretty as pictured on their website. My wife loved the bubble tub. I voted for the hot tub. Our daughter chose Blu-ray and TV. Whichever. Do-em-all. Put on the Hawaiian, Celtic, etc. ambiance music found near the TV. The bedrooms and the bathrooms felt like a city hotel but in the country, and with little candy treats that my daughter loved. There were buttermilk muffins and zucchini bread left under glass in the kitchen. The barn had an old horse drawn carriage, ping pong table, and fire pit. There are chair & tables, enough for many to relax outside. We had no need to go anywhere...except to buy the local wine and desserts...and kickback. Someone please grill the steaks on the BBQ cause I'm busy? The front porch was perfect for reading and sipping. Was ready to call work and tell them I was sick. Needed another week away, the space industry can wait.
