The area offers something for everyone including shops, nature trails, wineries, art and antiques galleries, and numerous restaurants. It’s just a half hour drive to Traverse City or Charlevoix and 45 minutes to Petoskey. Enjoy casino excitement at Turtle Creek Casino, less than 30 minutes away. Mackinaw City is just a "day trip" away! There you can visit Mackinac Island, Fort Michilimackinac, and the famous Mackinac Bridge - gateway to Michigan's Upper Peninsula.
Best known for its Golf, Shanty Creek offers easy access to five courses: Shanty Creek, Schuss Mountain, "The Legend," designed by Arnold Palmer, the "Cedar River" course designed by Tom Weiskopf, and "The Chief." The area also offers many championship courses located an easy drive away.
Just a short drive away are the Summit ski hills which include extreme tubing and a snowboard park. Or another short drive (or shuttle bus ride) away is Scheuss with it 450 vertical and another showboard park. Or Cross Country ski over 30 miles of groomed trails. There is something for every one!
