This fully and newly renovated, cape style, Bayview home is on 3 acres, where you can enjoy playing horseshoes, volleyball, crabfeasts, and cookouts on our gas BBQ grill. Watch our commercial crabbers come in with their catch and buy crabs and oysters right off the boat at wholesale prices! Then have fun cooking them right in the backyard on our homemade steaming pot! Bring your crab nets as you walk knee- high and catch your own soft crabs. Fishing and crabbing is plentiful on the island. Bring your boat and do both,or you can arrange a trip on our local Fishing Charter Boats.( Boat ramp just minutes away.)
We are located in the best hunting and rockfish areas of North America. Also available duck and deer hunting properties. This Island Waterfront Community offers kayaking to the bird sanctuary. With binaculars you can see the Bald Eagles seahawks,Osprey, herons, swans, pelicans and other rare birds. Explore the shorelines and coves for indian artifacts, shells and sea glass.
Bike the island. Ride to Old Salty's for lunch, route 343, the route of the Eagle man Triathalon. The roads are flat and scenic, enjoyable to ride or walk your dog. Take a swim on our public beach as you look for arrowheads, or drive 70 minutes to the famous Ocean City Boardwalk and beach. The setting and solitude is exceptional, as you take in the tranquil views of the Chesapeake Bay. Drink your Am. coffee on the front porch, where in the evening you have the perfect 'open view' of the sunsets over the Bay! When it's time to retire in the evening curl up with a good book on our fully lit window seats. Spending the evening out?
Cambridge offers an array of dining choices, movie theaters, or the Hyatt Chesapeake for golfing or spa visits. Visit the quaint towns of St. Michaels, and Oxford. Our family had a great time on Hooper's Island. The house was cute and we loved the outdoor shower. The water in absolutely beautiful and the crabs were delicious! The owner was very willing to help us with everything we needed. She even arranged the crabs to be delivered to us! The boat ramp at Rippon's was really nice and easy to navigate. We had the river all to ourselves!Recommended for: Families with teenagers.

We had a fabulous time! Five adults and five children...something for everyone thanks to the owner. There are toys and games for the kids, swimming, equipment for fishing and crabbing, beach access, and quite evenings for the adults. The kids had great fun crab fishing and we had a bushel of crabs for dinner. We all slept like babies thanks to the cool, fresh night air and the quite area. The owners went out of their way to assist in making our experience one everyone enjoyed. Lots of wildlife! Oh, make sure you take bug spray…the mosquitos get a little aggressive if you are outside at dusk. Thanks for a wonderful experience! We will definitely return.Recommended for: Pet owners, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway.
Owner response: Thank you so much for your review of my Bayview Vacation Home!! You all did have such a great time, you were wonderful renters! Yes, I have had a lot of people tell me I have thought of everything for the house. It is really fun finding all the wildlife as they hunt, swim and fly!! I have had a lot of renter friends return for the second time. So I will see you again, maybe make it an annual family reunion event!! Thanks!

I loved all the fun things to do here at the house, the badminton and ladderball, etc. The house itself is so cozy and charming, I especially loved the upstairs window seats. Perfect for watching storms rolling across the bay. Walking along the bayfront road was one of our favorite activities, looking for crabs and other wildlife. Listen to Laura when she tells you to pick up some food/supplies in Cambridge or you will be driving to town again, which is at least 30 minutes each way. Emily's Produce is amazing!!! Best sweet corn I've ever had and giant cantaloupe!!! If you've never had softshell crabs before, be aware that they different from the "usual" crab and not for everyone. The beach here is not really a useable beach in the familiar sense. Lots of bridges and water along the road to get here. If you are nervous about either, be aware. We saw three baby deer, turtles, osprey, crabs, snails. Fun wildlife viewing especially for kids. Bring some heavy duty bug spray if you are in mosquito season.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.
Owner response: Yes, the home is cozy and charming, everyone says so!! Thanks! We are a 30 min drive from the hussle and bussle of the city life! Out in wildlife country, (Gods Country!) Beautiful, tranquil, and scenic. The drive is very eventful, first Emily's produce market with everything you can imagine, from fresh produce to all homemade jellies, jams, salsa, and many other homemade treats!! Then to Blackwater Wildlife Refuge, foot trails, bike trails, and visitor center a real nice learning experience of the area and Bay. (esp. for kids) Then keep your eyes open for the ospray nests, along with the Bald Eagle nests. You never know what your gonna see on your ride to the house, maybe a beautiful Red Fox, we have plenty of those!! Yes, woods off spray, good idea for the occasional buggy days. Then to the Chesapeake where you can fish, crab, and if lucky serve up a freshly caught seafood dinner!

I stayed here for a weekend in June for the Eagleman triathlon in Cambridge. It was a really nice house, with cable tv and a very functional, well-stocked kitchen. The bedding could be a little nicer but I enjoyed the house a lot overall.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0
