Beautiful Lake Front 4 Bedroom Home with Incredible Sunsets!

This gorgeous year-round home is meant to sleep 8-10 people. The house is centered around a 30'x18' great room that includes the living room and dining room. There is a fireplace in the living room for cozy wood fires. On one side of the great room is the master bedroom. It has a queen-size bed in it and has a bathroom with shower next to it. On the other side of the great room are two more bedrooms with two twin beds in each. These two bedrooms share a full bathroom. There is a fourth bedroom in the studio, which is a separate structure about 4 feet away from the main house. It is joined by a covered walkway to the house but you do have to step outside. This spacious bedroom has a queen bed and also a queen sleeper sofa, so possibly four people could sleep in this room. The studio has a powder room with toilet and a sink but no bath facilities. This bedroom is lined with bookcases full of books. It is great for someone who likes their privacy. The lakeside of the great room has floor-to-ceiling windows and beyond that, a 30'x15' wood deck that overlooks Lake Michigan and is wonderful for sunning, lake watching, eating or just relaxing. The house sits on a bluff overlooking the lake so you are almost at treetop level. The house also has a wonderful kitchen, fully equipped for eating and cooking. It even has a double oven, microwave, dishwasher, and more.
There are many other amenities to this house including a washer and dryer in the laundry room, outdoor grill, outdoor deck furniture, wood for fireplace, VCR/DVD player (no TV reception, but you can play movies), a library of books and other niceties. The house is beautifully decorated. I'm sure you would love this house. It is very peaceful and private. No other places are visible and it is surrounded by cedar woods. It is on the lake and gets fabulous sunset views because it faces west. You can see more pictures of the beautiful Young house on our website. If this house is too big, there are two smaller ones available. If you decide to rent the Young house, you might just decide to move to the island!
During the summer, we only rent the house by the week, from Saturday to Saturday. During the spring, fall, and winter, you can rent by the night, with a 3-night minimum. Guests provide their own sheets and towels. We provide blankets, pillows, bedspreads, and mattress pads. Pets are not allowed and it is non-smoking.

The Young house on Washington Island is a wonderful get away location. The house itself is nestled in the woods right on Lake Michigan. A very private and quiet location - just a short car ride (or walk) from town. We have an amazing time each time we visit. Great hiking in the woods, where you will always see deer, turkeys and more wildlife. It is fun to build a bon fire on the beach. The water is clear and beautiful. The house is very warm and homey feeling, brightly lite with all the windows, patio doors, and sky lights....and very clean. I highly recommend this property. You won't find a quiter and more relaxing place. I will definitely be back!Recommended for: Girls getaway, adventure seekers, sightseeing, romantic getaway.

I have to be honest that when another couple told us that they rented a place on Washington Island for four days & invited us, I was less that excited. That all changed when reaching the Young House. From the secluded drive to the house, to entering what felt like a second home, we couldn't have been more comfortable the entire time. This is as described in the listing....no neighbors in sight, well appointed & well furnished (great mattresses too), wood burning fireplace & a huge deck overlooking the water. Perhaps the best part is what the owners didn't mention...the afternoon bonfire on the beach while listening to a football game with the waves crashing 20 feet away. This turns into watching the sunset around the now growing bonfire & postponing dinner as we didn't want to leave the beach. Thank you & we will be back next year for sure!!Recommended for: Families with young children, age 55+, families with teenagers, people with disabilities, girls getaway, romantic getaway.
