LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION, PLUS CONVENIENT! This beautiful, non-smoking, fully-finished chalet is located on a very quiet private dead-end drive, 1/8 mile off the popular Northwoods Beach strip. Grab your coffee in the morning, and take the kids and dog for a nature walk down the heavily wooded private road while you talk about your plans for the day on the lake. You'll feel like your in the middle of the woods, yet everything you need is close by: Gas is now also available on the lake just a few minutes down the shore. Gas, groceries, fish licenses, boat/pontoon rental, and boat supplies/repair are 1/2 mile away. (Plus more dealers and rental shops 10 miles away with Jet Ski/pontoon/boat/water trampoline/snowmobile rental and repair). Enjoy plenty of restaurants, resorts, amenities less than a mile or two away by boat/walk/bike/car. LCO Casino and Hotel is 5 miles away and has national acts/entertainment. Like live music? The all new beautiful Trails End Resort is only a couple minutes down the shore, and offers live music, food, drinks, gas on the lake, and a sandy beach with playground. The original Famous Dave's is only 12 miles away. Or take a ten minute drive to downtown Hayward for shopping, museums, mini golf, go carts, wineries and more.
Enjoy 5 premier Golf Courses -most less than 10 minutes away, tons of restaurants and resorts nearby, and miles of ATV & Snowmobile trails surrounding. Arguably the best lake in Hayward for pan fishing, musky fishing, water skiing, jet skiing, pontooning, sailing, music, and more. This lake is big, but is very quiet.
The yard is beautifully landscaped with rock retaining walls, new shrubs, new sod, walkways. Enjoy the sunset while sitting around the huge fire pit overlooking the lake (plenty of chairs provided). Take the winding steps down medium elevation to the lake and the new private 'L' dock with 100' of private frontage. Seasonal neighbors on both sides are friendly and have huge lots with plenty of mature trees, so there is plenty of privacy.
A complimentary lift for your pontoon, boat, or PWC is available at no extra charge; inquire with owner. Lac Courte Oreilles can have 3 foot waves during storms; so this is an important amenity since it makes the difference between having to take your boat out, or having major damage to your boat or dock.
Interior is immaculate and tastefully decorated with a northwoods cabin feel. Knotty pine ceilings and walls throughout, and hardwood floors in great room, dining, and kitchen. Two fireplaces, attached oversize weatherproof 3 season porch with lake view, and patio/lawn furniture (seats 10-12, plus plenty of lawn chairs provided). Ceramic tile in all three full bathrooms (one on each level). Adults can enjoy peace and quiet on the main level, while kids can enjoy the fully finished walkout basement with video games, air hockey, foosball, movies and 2 cool log bunk bed sets. This place has it all, too much to mention.
Sleeps 11-13. Bedroom Layout: Master Suite in loft overlooking lake has queen log bed, Main Level bedroom 1 has queen log bed, Main Level bedroom 2 has queen pine bed, Kids bedroom in walkout basement has 2 log bunk sets totaling one full and 3 twins beds. Also a full sofa sleeper is available in oversize basement rec room. All adult mattresses are high quality and comfortable.
Lac Courte Oreilles is over 8 miles long and at over 5000 acres is the largest natural lake in the county and is well known for excellent fishing, sailing, exploring and water sports. Lac Courte Oreilles is also connected to Grindstone Lake which is over 3000 acres, and makes for a great day trip with light shallow hull boat or pontoon. The bottom gently tapers from nothing at shore, to 3 feet deep at the swimming area at the end of the new 30 foot 'L' shaped dock with large sitting area. From there it continues to gently taper out to about ten feet deep, and stays level for approximately 40 yards. This water is absolutely crystal clear ALL year long -drop a dime off the end of the dock and you can still see it!
You will be hard pressed to find a finer vacation home in the area, and the location is perfect for all types of entertainment on water and off.

excellent house with tons of creature comforts. beautiful views of the lake. close to hayward but still feels like you are "away from it all". The photos do not do the property justice. it is more wonderful in person. very clean with lots of space for everyone. would be perfect for two families.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children.

Our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay! We came from Florida, Chicago, Madison and Turtle Lake to celebrate the Life of My Sister, who passed away in October, and Christmas. Tom put up a huge Christmas Tree in the living area and decorated the house for Christmas...With all the snow outside, it was the prefect Christmas picture! The photo's and property description are very accurate. There was plenty of room for 9 of us and the boys enjoyed spending time in the lower level playing Video games. The kitchen had anything that would possibly be needed to prepare all of our meals. Tom was very responsive when we had initial questions then allowed us to live in the house as if it was our own. The house was close to town which has a great grocery store and meat market. We would recommend this property to anyone who is looking for a place in the Hayward area. We hope to return again sometime in the summer or fall.Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

the house far surpassed expectations - the pictures simply do not do it justice! we had 12 people come up for a bachelorette weekend (10 adults and 2 kids). We easily could have accomodated a couple more people who couldn't make it. The kitchen was spacious and had most everything we needed. What we forgot, we were only a 10 minute drive from town, so we weren't stressed. Other than that, once we'd arrived, no one wanted to leave. Tom had a number of offers for roommates should he so need them! We played lawn games on the Saturday accomodating 5 different games. Plenty of room for people to run around and enjoy themselves. The lake was a bit cold for most of us though 2 girls did take the plunge. While we didn't make it to the lodge, Tom assured us it would have been a good time. Given his responsiveness, that he met us when we got there, and his friendly persona, I definitely trust his opinion. The overwhelming reaction to the weekend was that we should do more of them - specifically at Tom's :)Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.

We just left after 2 weeks at Tom's place. He has a beautiful home, meticulously maintained, well eqipped, and set majestically above Anchor Bay, which has some of the best fishing spots on Lake Couderay. And to boot Tom is a real gentleman. IMHO this is the gold standard for vacation rentals in the Hayward Lakes area.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

The house was better than the current photos. Great view of lake from house and fire pit. New furniture and TV's were just installed prior our arrival. The kitchen was fully stocked with the needed utensils and equipment if you want to cook. The house was clean and welcoming. Home had baby gates which was great for the kids which was a plus. The owner was prompt in communication and even sent back items that we had left at the house accidentally. We were able to easily rent a pontoon boat and dock it at the house. We used it to travel to Trails End Resort for a beach and play area for the kids. We would definitely stay here again.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children.

Tom has a terrific lodging set up high overlooking the lake - it's a beautiful vista with a spacious, open interior easily accommodating a large group. It was a perfect place to get away and provided foosball and air hockey for entertainment as well as plenty of comfortable spots to nestle in and read a good book or watch a movie. I would recommend it to anyone. Hope you get a chance to enjoy it too.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.

This property was beautiful, clean, and it had everything anyone could possibly need in the kitchen!! The beds were very comfortable; six adults went (three couples) and all indicated the beds were very comfortable. flat screen TVs in two of the bedrooms and one in the living room. Plenty of room in the refrigerator and we used the fireplace in the living room, very nice! We enjoyed the pizza at Anglers, delicious! We stopped in at Trails Inn for a bit and enjoyed a very good band, even danced a bit! Thank you Tom for a smooth/no problem rental, everything was wonderful.Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

About the owner: I've lived in NW WI all my life and have spent the last 8 years in Hayward.
Why the Owner Chose Hayward:
I purchased this brand new chalet in June of '09. The Hayward area is beautiful and has endless recreational opportunities. I enjoy meeting people from WI, MN, IL, IA, etc; and they are all so interesting, easy to talk to, and in a friendly vacation mood. Lac Courte Oreilles is the largest natural lake in the county; at over 5000 acres there is so much lake shore, I don't think you could see it all by pontoon in one day! Plus, it's connected to Grindstone lake at over 3000 acres. Both lakes are primarily sand bottom, and crystal clear year round. Neither of these lakes have a lot of boat traffic, so it is perfect for sailing, water skiing, relaxing etc.
The Unique Benefits at this Chalet:
My favorite thing to do is spend time on the water; whether it be waterskiing, jet skiing, or meeting people at the public sandbar. For lunch I like to take friends over to Anglers Haven Resort and enjoy the owner entertaining guests with magic tricks and jokes. In the evening it's over to Waterfront Restaurant for dinner/drinks to catch up with old friends and meet new people from all over. After that, it's back to the chalet for a bonfire as the sun sets; then later take the pontoon for a moon lit ride a mile down the shoreline for live music and drinks at Trails End Resort.
