Awesome Value & Views

We are a 55+ couple that spent a week in the cabin. In short, we loved it. It was peaceful and quiet. There are other cabins nearby but we hardly heard anyone. The sunset views from the deck were worth every penny. The cabin was very clean and the kitchen perfectly equipped. When we arrived the access code to door wasn't set for us, but a quick call and voicemail to the owners was returned in seconds and the problem was fixed. Verizon cell service is surprisingly good. If you love the mountains, this place is for you. If you don't, then the 21% grade road to get to the cabin might be a worry. The access road is steep. We chose this cabin because it was pet-friendly so if you like to take long walks with your dog be prepared for some scenic aerobic effort or a short drive down to the bottom of the hill where there is a beautiful fishing pond and picnic area. There are plenty of grocery stores to stock up right on the main Wears Valley road and a Krogers in Pigeon Forge is only 10 miles away. We trout fished in Metcalf Bottoms and went to Cades Cove which is beautiful and where we got our first view of a black bear. Be prepared to tack on an additional 25% to your estimated driving times because this place is in the Smokies and the roads are very curvy and fun!

Young couple who had a good time. This Cabin has a great view and is very relaxing. When we first the arrived the bed sheets and some towels were not cleaned, we called the owner and he immediately had a cleaning crew come out and clean up and provide clean sheets. We were very pleased with the help he provided. We will definitely be staying in this cabin again.

Ain't Seen Nothin' Yet Cabin

Guest: Rich (Indiana)
Date of Stay: 11/24/10 Review Submitted: 12/07/10

My wife & I stayed in this cabin over the recent Thanksgiving holiday for 4 nights. The cabin is very nice and is very tastefully decorated. It's a very cozy place for 2 people (or even 4) to stay. The first floor is the living/dining/kitchen area along with a full bath. The wall facing west is all glass offering a spectacular view of the Smokies. There is a Murphy bed on this level as well. The deck on this level has a picnic table with benches. There are two rocking chairs as well as a charcoal grill. A wooden spiral staircase leads to the lower level where the king size bed is located. Another full bath is on this level. There is a pool table also located in this room. The deck on this level has a hot tub. Unfortunately I couldn't get the jets in the hot tub to work while we were there. The cabin has an internet connection which is handy to still stay connected. There are tv's mounted on the wall with DVD players on both levels of the cabin. Cable tv is provided. I would like to see an upgrade on the tv's to flat panel sets from the 19" crt models that are there now. The cabin was very clean and the kitchen was well stocked with all the necessary appliances and utensils. This is not a secluded location. There are several cabins in this area. There are neighboring cabins on both sides of this cabin within 50 feet. You can easily see and hear your neighbors from both of the decks. This wasn't a problem for us but I have stayed in more secluded locations in the Smokies. We visited the Cades Cove area in the national park. It was a crisp sunny fall day which made for a beautiful drive. Be prepared for slow moving traffic which will come to a complete stop if they happen to see any sign of wildlife. Smoky's Sports Pub & Grub in Gatlinburg was a great place to watch the Purdue-IU football game. The owner was very friendly and accomodating. The barbecue sandwiches were delicious. We also enjoyed the Smoky Mountain Brewery in Pigeon Forge. The Smoky Mountain Grocery just south of Happy Hollow Road on Wears Valley Road is owned by a fellow Hoosier and has reasonable prices. The owner there was also very friendly. Overall it was a great stay and a very relaxing get away for my wife and I.

Perfect Weekend

Guest: Anonymous
Date of Stay: 08/20/10 Review Submitted: 08/24/10

We were celebrating our 35th wedding anniversary over a 3 day weekend and wanted a cabin out of the main tourist area. We went to Cades Cove each day and drove the loop five times during the course of our three day stay. LOVED IT! Lots of bears, deer and other wildlife and spectacular scenery. On our last trip to the cove we decided to take the alternate route a former guest wrote about and although it didn't seem any shorter it was a nice drive and we enjoyed the change of scenery. A brand new convenience store opened up this weekend right at the bottom of the mountain... (turn right onto Hwy 321 and there it is). I believe the name is Smoky Mountain Grocery. We didn't have a need to stop but it appears to be the sort of place to have a little of everything you may need and is very convenient. Cabin was clean upon our arrival and just what we expected. The view from the decks was amazing and we especially loved the sunsets and early morning fog down in the valleys. The owners were easy to deal with and we would highly recommend this cabin. ~Linda & David~

We enjoyed our week at the cabin. It was located in a really good area away from all the noise and traffic. The views from the of the surrounding mountain sides were great. The cabin was clean and the interior was beautifully decorated as advertised. The owners were really good to work with on renting the cabin.

A Great Getaway

Guest: Ms Linda & Dr Joe (Sun City Ctr, FL)
Date of Stay: 06/05/10 Review Submitted: 06/13/10

We visited June 5-12. The cabin was as advertised. The views were great. The accommodations were as expected - kitchen size and amenities were perfect for 2 adults. Close to Wears Valley and Cades Cove Park entrance - a less tourist-heavy part of TN. The area was quiet and peaceful. The drive in off 321 is a little tricky but all paved and safe for summer use. Our cat loved the place too. We will be back.

Wow what a view!!

Guest: MD kids and dog (ILLINOIS)
Date of Stay: 05/28/10 Review Submitted: 06/10/10

We had a great long weekend in the cabin. The cabin is just as pictured. We enjoyed relaxing in the hot tub at night, the view is amazing at any time of the day. While in the area we found a lesser known entrance to the national park, thanks to the local convenience store worker. You turn on to Lyon Springs Rd, this becomes Little Greenbriar Rd then at Little River Rd(entrance to park) you can turn right to go to Cades Cove or Left to go to the sugarlands visitor center or newfound gap drive. We went horseback riding at the sugarland stables, they take pictures during the ride that you can purchase on CD for $25. American Pizza has great pizza and they deliver, I thinks they are located in Wears Valley. Brian was great to deal with, he put up with numerous calls and questions! Things to bring...extra garbage bags, paper towels, toilet paper, soap, dishsoap and laundry detergent. The nearest grocery stores were in Pigeon Forge, a good 20 minute drive.

A beautiful place to stay!

Guest: Rachel & Megan's Mom (Louisville, Ky)
Date of Stay: 04/06/10 Review Submitted: 04/10/10

Just returned from our 3 nights stay. The cabin was just as advertised. Very clean and comfortable. Nice view. Fairly easy to find. About a 12 minute drive to the main road. Lots to do for the kids nearby. Kitchen well equipped except when it comes to a frying pan. Only a very small one and most of the Teflon has been scrapped off by people using metal utensils when using it. I also recommend you bring your own pillows if you are particular. The place is dog friendly and Brian is a great guy to work with. Will plan on keeping this place in mind again when we return.

Owner response: I listen to my guests and have replaced all the pots and pans so you will be in total heaven, while at Ain't Seen Nothin' Yet.
