My family (consisting of myself, husband, and adult children) stayed at this wonderful, quiet, clean home while attending a wedding in Hickory. Everything was as listed in the description. Not the easiest to find in the dark, but we made it, with the help of a gps. The beds were comfy, the home clean and easy to find everything we needed. The lake is calm, loved it. We even saw an osprey catch a fish, then a bald eagle tried to take it away! Would recommend!Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, families with young children, romantic getaway, age 55+.

Just spent a weekend at this very nice log home, and we had a very nice time. It is clean, right on the water, and comfortable. Kids had a wonderful time swimming off the dock, and the porch is a wonderful place to just plain relax. Owners very agreeable. I am pretty sure we will be back!Recommended for: Girls getaway, families with young children, pet owners, age 55+, families with teenagers.

We had so much fun at this lake house. It offers wonderful views all around. From the swings on the porch to the dock by the water. Our kids were able to jump right off the dock as if they were jumping off a diving board and then pulling back up using the ladder. The mornings were so peaceful and evenings were serene with beautiful sunsets. We even went adventuring in the community park one day and then hiking in the nearby mtns of Blowing Rock. Thank you for allowing us to vacation at your home away from home.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with teenagers.

We spent last weekend at this property. It was a comfortable and homey retreat by the lake. It is a handbuilt log home with the feel of a cabin in the Northwoods as you sit out on the porch swing watching the sun set over the lake, or sit by the fireplace with an evening glass of whatever you like to drink. You can watch the kids jump off the dock and swim as you sun yourself in the afternoon. We enjoyed making a group meal on the island in the kitchen. You can see the lake out the dining room window. We were outdoors on the porch and talked and watched the sunset while the kids played, and made s'mores after dark. Many vacation houses have a pre-fab white and beige vibe to them, but this property feels like a home. Lake Hickory is a clean and quiet lake and a relaxing get away in a peaceful house on the hill by the lake.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, people with disabilities, girls getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

We had a great time at this Lake House. The log home was clean and spacious enough for 2 families. The owners were easy to work with and it was simple to get in and out. We brought our Jetskis. There is a really nice public landing right down the road. Lake Hickory is beautiful and this home is located on big water with excellent views. The kids had a great time jumping off the dock and fishing. The shore area/boathouse could use a little clean-up but we didn't mind since the kids swam off the end of the dock. My 11 year old keeps asking to go back. I expect this will not be our only adventure to this property.Recommended for: Families with young children, families with teenagers.

The description of the house in the ad is right on point. This was a lovely cabin with a comfortable environment. My family was very pleased with the home and the amenities. Our guests ranged from 2 years to 68 years old and there were accomodations for all. There were even toys and books for my daughters - which they were thrilled about. The view from the porch was the highlight of our stay. The morning temperatures were perfect for enjoying coffee and breakfast with serene peacefulness. We look forward to staying there again!!Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with young children, pet owners, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.
