Family reunions can be stressful, but not here. My very large family had a spontaneous reunion here in March. Seven of the nine siblings made it along with one spouse and three children! There was more than enough room for everyone. We all love to cook. We saved a bundle with each sib making a dinner in the gourmet kitchen. Think Sub-zero refrigerator and six burners with griddle Viking range. My brothers loved the pull-out drawer coolers for their beer. There is a large gas grill on the deck. We all loved the low-chemical hot tub. There is nothing like sitting in the hot tub with a Margarita after a full day of skiing. We were able to pack light because the house has a full size washer and dryer. The house is 10 minutes to the main Vail parking garage. There is ample parking for 6-7 cars at the house. Not a thing was missing. Every kitchen gadget was there and enough gorgeous china and glassware to feed a battalion. We have used VRBO in both the US and Europe. This place tops everything else.Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

It is hard to describe this home because you could run out of superlatives. To begin, it is spotless: you can tell that the owner has high standards. Each room is lovely...I believe the write up mentions "designer" features but honestly, it is too comfortable and welcoming to be done by a designer. It is furnished and fitted-out by someone with extremely good taste and an eye for the small details that make a home, a home. Having said that, every appliance, fixture, material etc. is high-end which adds to the luxurious feel of the home. The rooms are generously sized and the patio is a place you will find yourself drawn to; not only for the hot tub but for the incredible quiet and peaceful surroundings. We were there in July and there was so much to do that it will take at least another trip; not to mention wanting to be there for the other seasons. The location of the home is great; easy access to resorts by free bus, taxi or car...not a bad walk either if you allow the time. Grocery shopping very convenient. This property is a real deal if you have a family or group. I just thoroughly enjoyed the stay and plan to go back as soon as possible.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, girls getaway, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

This Chalet is so charming that you will not want to leave, ever! The decor is warm but luxurious, with wonderful amenities. Whether you want to relax, cook, eat, or enjoy the scenery, there is a lovely spot in this home that's perfectly suitable. There is plenty of space for everyone to congregate, and also enough privacy so that you can steal away for some solitude. I would definitely recommend this property, in any season. I hope to return soon!Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

I just returned from a short spring guys bike trip to Vail. This was my 4th time staying at Vail Haus - my other stays were all during ski season over the past few years. The house is beautiful and the location is quite peaceful. I love sitting in the hot tub & on the back patio taking in the view in to the forest. The gardens are just coming into bloom and there were hundreds of daffodils and tulips in bloom in the yard. Being a professional chef and innkeeper originally from The Netherlands, I found the kitchen to be well stocked with all the necessary pots, bakeware, dishes, etc. The 8-burner gas range is fantastic. The owners have a great eye for details and provide so many little things that really made my family's stay so pleasant; all sorts of spices, welcome basket of goodies, soaps & shampoos, lovely linens, etc. The house is absolutely spotless and I highly recommend Vail Haus.Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

OMG we had the very best spring break ski trip with our family at your fabulous mountain chalet. We had 2 families for a week of snow fun. The house could not have been better for our group. There was so much privacy with 6 elegant bedrooms. There was a large lower gathering room for the kids to hang out and escape from the adults, which of course made the main living room a wonderful area for the adults. The ladies love to cook, and we had so much fun working together in the beautiful gourmet kitchen. It had every kitchen toy we needed and we loved cooking and eating around the cozy dining room table enjoying the views. Every night my husband and I took a late night hot tub to watch the stars. It was so quiet and peaceful. We saw deer most evenings at dusk in the back yard. The kids thought they were tame! The house was absolutely perfect. It was very clean and the linens were luxurious. The photos don't do justice to the charm of this house. We loved the house and recommend it to anyone. We can't wait to go back, and are already planning a get away in fall and next spring. Thanks for sharing your wonderful home. Perfect.Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

We enjoyed a very relaxing 5 days at Vail Haus in early January. We skiied, soaked in the large hottub overlooking the forest and cooked in every night. The kitchen is incredible! The beds and linens were so cozy. I felt so refreshed after our stay. We plan to make a return visit this August.Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

"We had a lovely Thanksgiving weekend in Vail. Your home is beautiful. The kitchen was perfect for preparing our Thanksgiving Feast. The huge Viking stove and double oven were put to good use. The hot tub was especially relaxing and the peaceful view of the forest from the hot tub was so calming. Thank you for your hospitality."Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

About the owner: With 6 bedrooms and 5 baths, our home has plenty of room for our large extended family. We love to cook and entertain both summer and winter. The large stone patio faces the National Forest and we try to be on the patio early in the morning and just before dusk to watch the deer go from the Gore Creek below us back to their Meadow home above us in the Forest. I have been skiing in Vail since 1970. My first date with my wife was a ski day in Vail in 1974 - the rest is history, as they say. We love Vail year round! Our favorite ski lunch spot is Belle's Camp at the top of Blue Sky Basin, with its 360 degree view. Bring a picnic - Vail even has grills set up so you can BBQ your own brats... Favorite summer picnic spot - That's a hard one. There are so many beautiful hiking areas... we will leave a list for you at the house.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
My favorite spots to relax in the house include the 7' long, comfy window seats in the breakfast room. I lay there and watch the snow storms roll past or soak up the sun. The porch on the highest level of the house is a perfect spot to roll out a camping mat and sleep under the stars in the summer. The radiant heated floors are great for plopping down a pillow and watching local TV8 to catch up on events in the Vail area or listening to my favorite jazz programs on local radio stations.
We have a unique, private location with a large yard which flows into the National Forest. There are 3 beautiful flower bed areas with native plants and trees and a 100' hill in the back with wildflowers.
