Bella Vista - Clean Cabin with Hot Tub & Wonderful View

Year Purchased: 1999

Why the Owner Chose Maggie Valley

For about 15 years, we have been frequent visitors to Maggie Valley, North Carolina. We were so impressed with the area and it's beauty we decided to buy a home, not only for our few visits a year but to have a retirement home in the future. In December 1999, we became the proud owners of Bella Vista which means “beautiful view” in Italian.

We fell in love with the view and that fact that there is easy paved access to the cabin was such a bonus, especially in the mountains where the gravel roads can be a challenge.

Because our primary residence is near Tampa, Florida and we cannot enjoy Bella Vista all year long, the next best thing to do was to open our home to you. We hope the name is fitting and that you enjoy the view as much as we do! We are both avid golfers and find rest and relaxation by visiting the links. We usually travel to Maggie Valley with 8 or more fellow golfers and have had great times playing Springdale CC, Laurel Ridge CC (Lisa’s favorite for the view) and Maggie Valley CC.

The Unique Benefits at this Private Mountain Cabin

We hope the name, Bella Vista, is fitting and that you enjoy the view as much as we do! We are both avid golfers and find rest and relaxation by visiting the links. We usually travel to Maggie Valley with 8 or more fellow golf couples and have had great times playing Springdale CC, Laurel Ridge CC (Lisa’s favorite for the view) and Maggie Valley CC.

While not on the course, we enjoy watching the birds, chipmunks and other small creatures that visit us. The wild turkeys often come for a visit. The peacefulness and serinity is wonderful. We love having dinner outside on the deck and watching the day slowly turn to darkness while sitting in the rockers on the deck.

    • My husband, brother and I vacationed at Bella Vista early June, 2009. We really enjoyed our stay. The house is in close proximity Waynesville, Dillsboro, Harrah's Cherokee Casino, and Asheville. It is also in close proximity to shopping and restaurants. Lake Junaluska is just down the road. The house we comfortable, loaded with all the conveniences of home. It was nice to relax at "home" after a long day of sightseeing. I would highly recommend Bella Vista for the comfort of home vacation travel.

      Homeowner Response:
We agree with the proximity of the cabin to all the surrounding activities are in the area. Lake Junaluska also offers a wonderful morning walk. Thanks for recommending us!

    • My husband is a CPA so we always take an "after-tax-season" vacation, and Bella Vista was a great place to relax and rejuvenate. The view from the living room is so beautiful, and the house is so cozy and comfortable, with everything you need. We enjoyed the hot tub on the deck a lot! We also found the WiFi connection very helpful. Bella Vista is very close to Smoky Mountain National Park, and to Waynesville and Asheville, where there were lots of art galleries and restuarants. We had a wonderful time, and I would recommend this rental highly.

      Homeowner Response:
Darshan, We are so glad you and your husband were able to relax at Bella Vista after tax season. May can be such a wounderful time in the mountains when all the foliage on the trees has opened from the cold winter weather. We hope you can return again someday for more rejuvenation and to enjoy the surrounding area. Keith and Lisa Ankrom

    • We stayed at Bella Vista in April and what a perfect place. We were looking for a nice quiet place for some "R & R". The fireplace was wonderful and there was definitely plenty of fire wood. We really enjoyed the view from the deck and watching the birds and squirrels. The house was very clearn and stocked with everything anyone would ever need to be comfortable. We most definitely would stay there again.

      Homeowner Response:
Stephanie & Mike, We are happy to hear that the cabin had everything you needed, including all the firewood, to make your stay even more comfortable. We hope you return again. Lisa Ankrom

    • We had a wonderfull time at your cabin in Maggie Valley. We asked around beforehand and were told that if you choose to go to the Great Smokey Mountains, the best place to stay is in Maggie Valley. We would definately agree. It is centrally located to all there is to see, and the Blue Ridge Parkway is just up the street. The view from the cabin is wonderfull. The cabin was very clean and a perfect size for a family. We especially enjoyed the sunken family room with a view and a fireplace. Thank you so much and we plan on returning to the same location very soon. I have recommended Bella Vista to two of my friends and they plan to book some time for this summer and/or fall.

      Homeowner Response:
We are so glad to hear how your family enjoyed the cabin and to hear that all the tulips we planted were on display. We hope you return soon as all the seasons are just beautiful. - Lisa and Keith Ankrom

    • There's not a lot we can add to all the comments previously posted except to say "Amen." We realize that others have described, quite eloquently, what we've now also discovered: that Bella Vista is a wonderful place and Lisa Ankrom is a joy to deal with. Unlike many of the owner's guests, we wanted a complete getaway; no computers, phones, people, noise, activities, etc. Bella Vista proved to be just what the doctor ordered. We got snowed on sitting in the hot tub, read, listened to music, ate well and enjoyed our wine. This was a perfect off-off season retreat.

      Homeowner Response:
Thanks, Dave and Jan for your nice comments. We hope you can return again in the future for some more rest and relaxation. -- Lisa

    • Bella Vista, The name says it all. Our weeks stay in December was perfect. It was like coming home. We thoroughly enjoyed the winter mountain experience, the roaring fireplace, the hot tub, the cozy atmosphere, great views, and most of all the solitude. Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful home with us. We'll be back again. Carl & Madeline Dixon

      Homeowner Response:
We are so glad you returned to Bella Vista. Being in a mountain cabin on a cold winter day and watching the fireplace roar is a wonderful experience. We look forward to assisting you on your next visit. Lisa

    • Very comfortable, nicely furnished cabin, especially the kitchen. Good internet, and tvs. Warm and cozy, with a working fireplace giving lots of heat. Not sure about the drive up if the weather goes with ice or snow. Close to a lot of activities. Be sure to visit the shops in Waynesville downtown. We really enjoyed them. I don't think you will find much in your home, that is not in this cabin. It was four of us, and our pets, we were not crowded. The owners contacted us mid-week to make sure all was ok.

      Homeowner Response:
We are so glad you enjoyed your Thanksgiving week stay and the cabin was equipped with everything you needed. Winter can be a challenge, but luckily if a storm blows through, it only last a day or two before it melts away. We hope you visit again and can enjoy the another season at Bella Vista. The spring and fall can be spectacular. Keith & Lisa Ankrom - Owners, Bella Vista

    • We stayed at Bella Vista November 2008. There are not enough words to describe Bella Vista. It was the best vacation we had taken in our 26 years of marriage. We had planned our visit for nearly 10 months and our vacation far exceeded our expectations. The cabin was warm and cozy and we were referring to it as "home" before our 8 days was over. We had family and friends join us the last couple of days of our visit. We preferred to stay "home" where we cooked and entertained. Our guests were as much in awe as we were. We proudly showed them our "home away from home." The views were absolutely georgeous and we layed awake at night looking at the lights on the mountain. We were fortunate enough to plan our vacation during a full moon. The hot tub was fabulous. The owners were a joy in accomodating us during our stay. We have to admit, this was the first vacation ever that when it was time to leave, we didn't want to go. We could have stayed at Bella Vista forever!! Thanks for sharing your little piece of paradise!! Laurie & Rick Funderburk, Milton, FL

      Homeowner Response:
We are so pleased you enjoyed your stay at Bella Vista. We want our home to be "your home" while visiting the mountains. And yes, the views are simply georgeous.

    • I can sum up our stay at Bella Vista in one word - 'WONDERFUL'!! We felt at home as soon as we walked in the door, and the view was nothing short of amazing! The house was so clean, the furnishings cozy and the kitchen was so well-stocked it almost inspired me to cook while on vacation (well...almost..). We shopped, went sight-seeing, hiking, and then came 'home' to relax in the hot tub while watching the sun go down...it just doesn't get much better than that. I plan to highly recommend Bella Vista to all my family & friends...thank you SO much for sharing your beautiful cabin with us.

    • Oct 18th thru Oct 25th 2008 I don't think that we have had a more peaceful and relaxing week that we had at your beautiful Bella Vista cabin in Maggie Valley. After a day of touring the Smoky Mountains and Gatlinlburg; climbing mountains to see waterfalls; or riding the Smoky Mountain train in Bryson City; it was a pleasure to come back to the cabin and relax by the fireplace and sip a glass of wine. Thank you again for letting us share your beautiful cabin with us. The Hammonds and The Woodards

      Homeowner Response:
We are so glad you enjoyed the peaceful setting of Bella Vista. We hope you come back soon.
