Our experience at Bella Vista was a wonderful experience. The cottage was well equipped and very clean. The view from the deck is especially beautiful in the morning. All activities were conveniently located and local people were very courteous and helpful. I would recommend to anyone planning a vacation in the Smoky Mountains.

The house was clean and had everything we needed and the info Lisa provided for dining and supplies was so helpful. The cabin really did have everything we could want and was just as it looks and is described on the website. I LOVED that it was dog friendly. Scout loved sleeping in bed with us just like she does at home & dozing on the chair in front of the fireplace. it meant the world that she could really relax and be on vacation with us. Someplaces say they're pet friendly, but the pets aren't allowed on the furniture, have to stay outside, etc. This place was very pet friendly & just what we were looking for. We were here for our honeymoon and have already talked about returning, either for another romantic getaway or with family and friends. I especially Loved the hot tub. it was so easy to use, we were in it a couple of times each day. And the Sleep Number bed was such a treat! We played some of the board and card games provided as we sat in front of the fireplace and we both enjoyed the books and magazines in the cabin. We thought we might venture out more but in the end just really enjoyed our borrowed home in this lovely town. We did go to Ashville one day and loved eating at 12 Bones BBQ (voted best BBQ in the nation by Good morning America.) Also, the used bookstore in Maggie Valley is a must for book lovers. SO many books they were literally PILED in front of shelves. Neat experience and we left with some new books. There were lots of places to go horseback riding in the area too. Simply put, you get more than you pay for, it's beautiful and has all the amenites and we'd love to come back.
Owner response:Thank you so much Kathleen. I work very hard to make sure my guest are very pleased with the accomodations. We hope you can return again in the future. Lisa Ankrom, Owner

The house was clean and well-appointed. The owner did an excellent job of preparing me by sending a list of supplies I might need (like soap, paper towels, etc), maps, restaurant listings, and other general information about the house and the area. I'm glad I had the supplies just in case, but I did not need most of them, as they were provided. There is about everything you could want in the kitchen. The owner also provided menus from local restaurants, which was very helpful when we wanted to go out to eat. The gas grill on the deck was very nice, and even has a side burner you can use for other cooking if you don't want to heat up the inside of the house. We used it to saute mushrooms to go on top of the steaks we cooked on the grill. They have a big hot tub on the deck, but we chose not to use it - it was the middle of the summer after all. So I can't comment much on the hot tub. The view from the deck is awesome, and we ate out there most nights and breakfasts. The beds and bathrooms were clean. The only down side we had was there was no air conditioning. We knew that of course, but at 3500 ft, we thought it would be a little cooler. We were there on one of the hottest weeks of the summer, and it generally did not get much above low 80's, but still - inside a house, that can be warm. On the upside, there were ceiling fans in every room and an extra floor fan. If I were renting in the middle of the summer again, I would take a couple more floor fans with me. Overall, I would highly recommend this house for vacation. We hope to go there again! Oh and for older folks - there are hardly any steps to deal with.
Owner response:Linda, We did have a week of unseasonable hot temperatures. For the past 10 years we have been booked for the entire summer months and have never had anyone have an issue with the unseasonably warm weather so after reading your review, we immediately went out and purchased additional floor fans for the cabin. Thank you so much and we hope to accomodate you again in the future.

There are many wonderful things we could say about Bella Vista. The view of the mountains was breathtaking, the house was exceptional very clean and well maintained inside and out, the house was totally stocked with everything we needed. The area was very special the friendlist little town we've seen in awhile. We had such an awesome time and the golf courses are beautiful unlike any we have played before. I recommend this home to anyone looking for peace and serenity.
Owner response:Thank you so much Susan. We are so happy you enjoyed your time at Bella Vista as we want to make each guest feel very much at home in our wonderful mountain retreat. Please let us know if we can help you in the future. Lisa Ankrom

This is our second visit to Bella Vista, our first being in November of 2010. This time we decided to visit in the spring....what a beautiful time of the year in the mountains. We saw new life everywhere...flowers, plants, shrubs and wild life that we had not seen or heard in the fall. My favorite being, after my year round favorite the birds, the chipmunks. The weather was beautiful and it was a pleasure to sit on the deck and listen to the birds sing and nothing else.....The evenings were cool and the days warm and sunny. Keith and Lisa, as always, saw that everything we could possibly need was in the "HOME AWAY FROM HOME" The house is immaculate and all amenities are in place...We will try to return earlier in the fall next year to see the leaves...Thanks Keith and Lisa for sharing with us.

Our family has stayed in many vacation homes over the years, and Bella Vista is definitely one of our favorites. It truly is a home away from home. The kitchen was well stocked with paper goods, garbage bags, condiments, etc., upon our arrival, as were the bathrooms. This saved me a late night trip to the grocery store that first night and was a welcome surprise. Other positives about Bella Vista: -The birds and the squirrels are an absolute delight. I loved watching them fight over the bird seed on the deck. -The beds are comfortable and the home is clean and well-kept. We truly felt like guests in a friend's home. -Location, location, location. I have literally spent my life traveling around the Great Smoky and Blue Ridge mountains of Tennessee and North Carolina, first as a child traveling with my parents and now as a parent myself. Maggie Valley is definitely one of the best places to stay. Its away from the more "touristy" areas, yet there are plenty of restaurants and shopping nearby. And access to the National Park and Blue Ridge Parkway is close. I absolutely recommned Bella Vista.
Owner response:Thank you so much for the wonderful review. We are so fortunate to have returning guest like your family. We work hard to keep the cabin clean and stocked for the next guest and it's so nice to know it is appreciated. We look forward to your next return. Keith & Lisa

What a view! You have a lovely "home away from home"! Everything from the well stocked kitchen to the easy drive up, the location, the view...all the ammentities anyone could ask for! It's private, it's peaceful, it's very tastefully decorated and it offers an amazing view! Great place to stay for anyone wishing for relaxation! And if you can't stay away from work, the wireless connection will keep you plugged in! That was a very nice ammentity as well! Highly recommended!
Owner response:We are so glad you were able to take a few days off from your busy schedule and enjoy some R&R at Bella Vista. We hope you get to return again in the near future --- just watch our calendar since we do tend to book up in advance, but would love to accomodate you.

We spent 3 glorious weeks at Bella Vista in August 2009 and will be back for the whole month of August 2010! Obviously we loved it! The kitchen is so well stocked with dishes, mugs, knives and appliances (actually, overstocked!) that there is hardly room for groceries! As everyone else has said the view is spectacular, the hot tub super relaxing, and Maggie Valley is a fun place to explore as well as Asheville and Waynesville. We'll be back!

10/2009-This is our fourth stay at Bella Vista. The amenities just keep getting better. We arrived in the rain on a Saturday, which turned into snow that night, in the higer elevations. When the Smoky Mtn. Pkwy.(441) was opened, we saw a lot of snow. A first for us in October. The furnished firewood was appreciated. First time we didn't use the hot tub though....too cold going to and from. There wasn't anything we needed that wasn't already there. We will return!

My husband, brother and I vacationed at Bella Vista early June, 2009. We really enjoyed our stay. The house is in close proximity Waynesville, Dillsboro, Harrah's Cherokee Casino, and Asheville. It is also in close proximity to shopping and restaurants. Lake Junaluska is just down the road. The house we comfortable, loaded with all the conveniences of home. It was nice to relax at "home" after a long day of sightseeing. I would highly recommend Bella Vista for the comfort of home vacation travel.

We just spent two weeks here and this place is perfect. The owners have provided for everything and have left instructions covering every possible eventuality. The cabin (it's actually a very nice house) is in a picturesque setting and located such that many, many wonderful day trips are easily accessed from here. It was immaculately clean and well-provided for. The hot tub was a wonderful respite after a day of hiking or tubing on the Nantahala River. We highly recommend this wonderful mountain home!

My husband is a CPA so we always take an "after-tax-season" vacation, and Bella Vista was a great place to relax and rejuvenate. The view from the living room is so beautiful, and the house is so cozy and comfortable, with everything you need. We enjoyed the hot tub on the deck a lot! We also found the WiFi connection very helpful. Bella Vista is very close to Smoky Mountain National Park, and to Waynesville and Asheville, where there were lots of art galleries and restuarants. We had a wonderful time, and I would recommend this rental highly.
Owner response:Darshan, We are so glad you and your husband were able to relax at Bella Vista after tax season. May can be such a wounderful time in the mountains when all the foliage on the trees has opened from the cold winter weather. We hope you can return again someday for more rejuvenation and to enjoy the surrounding area. Keith and Lisa Ankrom

We stayed at Bella Vista in April and what a perfect place. We were looking for a nice quiet place for some "R & R". The fireplace was wonderful and there was definitely plenty of fire wood. We really enjoyed the view from the deck and watching the birds and squirrels. The house was very clearn and stocked with everything anyone would ever need to be comfortable. We most definitely would stay there again.

We had a wonderfull time at your cabin in Maggie Valley. We asked around beforehand and were told that if you choose to go to the Great Smokey Mountains, the best place to stay is in Maggie Valley. We would definately agree. It is centrally located to all there is to see, and the Blue Ridge Parkway is just up the street. The view from the cabin is wonderfull. The cabin was very clean and a perfect size for a family. We especially enjoyed the sunken family room with a view and a fireplace. Thank you so much and we plan on returning to the same location very soon. I have recommended Bella Vista to two of my friends and they plan to book some time for this summer and/or fall.

There's not a lot we can add to all the comments previously posted except to say "Amen." We realize that others have described, quite eloquently, what we've now also discovered: that Bella Vista is a wonderful place and Lisa Ankrom is a joy to deal with. Unlike many of the owner's guests, we wanted a complete getaway; no computers, phones, people, noise, activities, etc. Bella Vista proved to be just what the doctor ordered. We got snowed on sitting in the hot tub, read, listened to music, ate well and enjoyed our wine. This was a perfect off-off season retreat.
Owner response:Thanks, Dave and Jan for your nice comments. We hope you can return again in the future for some more rest and relaxation. -- Lisa

Very comfortable, nicely furnished cabin, especially the kitchen. Good internet, and tvs. Warm and cozy, with a working fireplace giving lots of heat. Not sure about the drive up if the weather goes with ice or snow. Close to a lot of activities. Be sure to visit the shops in Waynesville downtown. We really enjoyed them. I don't think you will find much in your home, that is not in this cabin. It was four of us, and our pets, we were not crowded. The owners contacted us mid-week to make sure all was ok.
Owner response:We are so glad you enjoyed your Thanksgiving week stay and the cabin was equipped with everything you needed. Winter can be a challenge, but luckily if a storm blows through, it only last a day or two before it melts away. We hope you visit again and can enjoy the another season at Bella Vista. We stayed at Bella Vista November 2008. There are not enough words to describe Bella Vista. It was the best vacation we had taken in our 26 years of marriage. We had planned our visit for nearly 10 months and our vacation far exceeded our expectations. The cabin was warm and cozy and we were referring to it as "home" before our 8 days was over. We had family and friends join us the last couple of days of our visit. We preferred to stay "home" where we cooked and entertained. Our guests were as much in awe as we were. We proudly showed them our "home away from home." The views were absolutely georgeous and we layed awake at night looking at the lights on the mountain. We were fortunate enough to plan our vacation during a full moon. The hot tub was fabulous. The owners were a joy in accomodating us during our stay. We have to admit, this was the first vacation ever that when it was time to leave, we didn't want to go. We could have stayed at Bella Vista forever!! Thanks for sharing your little piece of paradise!! Laurie & Rick Funderburk, Milton, FL
Owner response:We are so pleased you enjoyed your stay at Bella Vista. We want our home to be "your home" while visiting the mountains. And yes, the views are simply georgeous.

I can sum up our stay at Bella Vista in one word - 'WONDERFUL'!! We felt at home as soon as we walked in the door, and the view was nothing short of amazing! The house was so clean, the furnishings cozy and the kitchen was so well-stocked it almost inspired me to cook while on vacation (well...almost..). We shopped, went sight-seeing, hiking, and then came 'home' to relax in the hot tub while watching the sun go down...it just doesn't get much better than that. I plan to highly recommend Bella Vista to all my family & friends...thank you SO much for sharing your beautiful cabin with us.

Oct 18th thru Oct 25th 2008 I don't think that we have had a more peaceful and relaxing week that we had at your beautiful Bella Vista cabin in Maggie Valley. After a day of touring the Smoky Mountains and Gatlinlburg; climbing mountains to see waterfalls; or riding the Smoky Mountain train in Bryson City; it was a pleasure to come back to the cabin and relax by the fireplace and sip a glass of wine. Waking up to the beautiful mountains every morning was wonderful and the view was terrific. We really enjoyed the deck and hot tub, Oh so relaxing, especially after long painful walks. Bella Vista is in such a convenient location to so many attractions but also the perfect spot if you want total relaxation and to just be alone and enjoy the sounds of nature. Bella Vista is also very comfortable, cozy, and has everything needed to feel right at home. It was the perfect escape for us and I look forward to returning. The view of the ridge and valley was amazing. Waking up in the clouds was really breathtaking. The hot tub was the cleanest i've ever seen, it was like new. Great fire wood and plenty of it, we had a fire day and night, it was perfect. Being located in Maggie Valley is perfect distance to enjoy Cherokee, Gatlinburg, Waynsville, and all surrounding areas. It was the most stocked rental we have ever seen, you litterally don't have to bring anything but your clothes, it was amazing. Thank you so very much for letting us use your home for two weeks. WE RENTED BELLA VISTA FOR THE NEW YEAR AS WE HAD FAMILY FLYING IN FROM ENGLAND & WANTED TO TAKE THEM TO THE MOUNTAINS. LET ME TELL YOU BELLA VISTA IS ONE OF THE BEST KEPT SECRETS IN THE MOUNTAINS & EVERYTHING IS PROVIDED. IF YOU DO NOT HAVE A SCHEDULE TO KEEP I WOULD SUGGEST TO ANYONE WHO RENTS THE PROPERTY ESPECIALLY IN THE WINTER MONTHS TO DO WHAT WE DID & THAT IS TO LOCK YOURSELVES AWAY FOR THE DURATION OF YOUR STAY. BEING IN THE HOT TUB ON A COLD WINTERS NIGHT WITH SNOW FALLING & YOUR HAIR FROZEN IS AN EXPERIENCE.TO WATCH STAR CONSTELLATIONS ON THE DECKING THROUGH A TELESCOPE IS AN EXPERIENCE. HAVING A MID WINTER B-B-Q IS AN EXPERIENCE, & BEST OF ALL COMING IN TO WARM UP IN FRONT OF THE LOG FIRE. WE PLAYED SCRABBLE (PROVIDED) FOR THE FIRST TIME IN YEARS,TALKED, DRANK & THROUGHLY RELAXED TAKING IN THE VIEWS, AWAY FROM PHONES,PEOPLE,WORK & TRAFFIC.TO FALL ASLEEP IN BED WITH THE BLINDS OPEN LOOKING AT ALL THE TWINKLING LIGHTS ACROSS THE VALLEY WAS MAGIC. ONE WORD OF CAUTION THOUGH WE WOULD THROUGHLY RECOMMEND HIRING A 4WD VEHICLE IF YOU DON'T OWN ONE FOR A WINTER STAY, AS EVEN THOUGH OUR MINI VAN HAD TRACTION CONTROL COMING DOWN THAT SNOW COVERED MOUNTAIN ROAD WAS HAIR RAISING TO SAY THE LEAST.

We stayed in the cabin for four weeks in August, 07. Plain and simply, we loved the place. Great deck, great views and probably the best stocked rental we have ever seen. Also, our puppy, Max, love the place as well. He ran along the road in front of the cabin every morning. Final. the owners are charming and will do anything to make a stay wonderful. Oh, if you have a dog, the Bear's Den in Maggie Valley is very pet friendly.

This property is in a great location and we were so impressed at just how clean, cosy and welcoming the cabin was. We were there just three nights and the weather wasn`t too good but the Blue Ridge Parkway views were spectacular with the low cloud. The rain didn`t prevent us from seeing the elk one evening either. Loved the hot tub on the balcony each evening with our 'gin & tonics' listening to 'Abba' on the stereo. Will definately chose Bella Vista again, love the area and the cabin has everything you need including a kitchen with more pots and other utensils than we own and the selection of books,CDs and tapes is amazing. The cabin is such a wonderful retreat and our only regret was we couldn`t stay longer even if it was just to relax on the deck with the spectacular view.

This was our first visit to NC and we've been most impressed. Bella Vista is all we hoped it would be and more. It's a perfect getaway. We have taken day trips to Asheville, Brevard, Canton, and Waynesville and found Waynesville and Brevard our favorites. The Black Forest restaurant in Arden has great German food and just off Summit on 19, we enjoyed Buttes BBQ on the Creek - great port sandwich. The Pisgah National Park was great. THere isn't ONE thing that you haven't thought of here at Bella Vista-not one. THe views are etched in our memories. Thanks for such a perfect place to enjoy each other.

Well, we have to leave this paradise and we don't want to go. Our stay could not have been more perfect and I can assure you we will be back. I am afraid we spoiled the squirrels, chipmunks, racoons and crows witht the special food we bought them while here to keep them away from the bird feeders (it did not work - they gobbled up all in sight). We are going to miss them as much as they'll miss us. My favorite was the little hummingbirds that came to the feeder. We left a small one in memory of them. I hope everyone that comes here in the future enjoys it as much as we did! Thanks for a great stay.

You have a very comfortable home here at Bella Vista. My husband and I joined his sister and husband- Barbara and Dan from Alabama for a week of relaxation. I held my breath and closed my eyes everytime we went down or up to your cabin. Other than that, it was great - including the weather -- only one rainy day.

AWESOME 1 leaf falls, 5 leaves flutter, Mottled leaf clouds, High wind: fall carpet And, thanks for a complete house, a hottub that really works, for allowing our standard poo's to visit, for quietude. When the electric went out, we turned o your list on the fridge, called Progree Energy. 15 minutes later we met the repair truck coming up as we went down. NOw, that was mind-boggling service for us. We generally wait 4 hours - 4 days! Hope to meet your next year sometime.

Thank you for sharing your little piece of heaven on earth with us. After spending the past week sightseeing and being in awe of the ever changing leaf colors, we looked forward to quiet, cozy evenings by the fire. The chipmunks kept us entertained each morning scooping upo all the birdseed they've stored up for the winter; they'll need a membership to Weight Watchers! The trip to see the elk in Catalookee Valley was A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!! A must for anyone visting the area. Sadly we are preparing for our return home; however, the thought of returning to Bella Vista in the future makes it more "bearable".

What a Week! In our 8 years of retirement we have rented many places and none even come close to Bella Vista! We only left the house two times, cooked our own wonderful meals in the most adequately equipped kitchen EVER seen! The sleep bed was perfect for my bad back. The hottub, the view, falling leaves, soft fall showers, hummingbirds, cozy fires, numerous card games will stay in our memories for a long time. How could you think of so many little extras which anyone would have been impressed with? I am a bird lover-watcher so even on our last day I am still discovering some cute little bird I'd previously missed; the survey bird house is so cute. We will be back.

Bella Vista was a wonderful respite from life's daily chores! One can truly feel and see the "Awesome" creation of God! The hummingbirds were a delight. The quiet and serenity is theraputic for the body and spirit. Your home excludes warmth and comfort. We truly enjoyed our stay!

Thank you so much for sharing Bella Vista with us. We really enjoyed your wonderful cabin here in Maggie mountains. This place offered us the perfect retreat and allowed us to become familar with the area and it's people. We look forward to getting to know you better and to share this mountain experience.

We agree this is an awesome place to stay - the best place we have ever stayed in Maggie Valley. The house is beautiful and so clean! I love all the bird stuff. We fed the squirrels and I saw the male and female red birds, a junco, the Carolina Chickadee, lots of crows and a chipmunk. The best places to eat are the Mountaineer, Granny's Chicken Palace, and Sagebrush has a great cheeseburger. The blueridge Parkway is a must and Water Rock Knob has great sunsets. We did not care for Snappy's and Joey's is great. It was so nice to be away from the hot flat lands of Houston. Thank you for making your home, our home for a while.
