High Mountain Lodge was everything and more from what Donald and Lynn described in their reviews. The house was immaculate and was so cozy and warm. We loved all their furnishings inside and out. We enjoyed the hot tub and rocking chairs on the porches. The views were awesome of the mountains! The beds were very comfortable and having 3 master bedrooms with attached baths was wonderful for 4 girls! We had so much privacy when we needed it. Donald and Lynn are great communicators and the experience went very smoothly. If we return to Gatlinburg, we will stay here again. Thanks so much Donald and Lynn for sharing your special home in the mountains.

My stay was a wonderful experience. The property was as described, everything was very clean and neat. The property is located in a very nice community and easy to get to from Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. Our party of 11 was very comfortable And the cabin is spacious. We cooked various meals as the kitchen is very well stocked. Thank you for sharing your cabin with us, we will definitely come back and we will highly recommendthis cabin to family and friends.

My family decided to go away for a Holiday weekend. A total of 3 families went along with us. The pictures and reviews of the cabin were very impressive, but we were even more amazed when we got there. It was beautiful and felt like home. We certainly could have stayed much longer. All the rooms were very nice with King Size beds in all 3, each room was on its on level giving you added privacy. The cabin is beautifully decorated, 1 of the nicer places we have stayed in Gatlinburg. The owners are great to work with and easily accessible, we would certainly recommend this cabin and we will definitely come back.

We stayed at this beautiful cabin in Ocober 2011, right at the peak of fall. We enjoyed our stay so much we cannot wait to return. The owners take pride in every detail. The beds were huge and comfortable. Comfort were a major concern, but be slept like winter bears. The kitchen is gorgous and neatly stocked. The views were so amazing, and access to the park is right up the road. We even drove the back way into North Carolina, to see the elk herds. It was very easy to access everything, and we appreciated the lovely hot tub after our long hikes. One day it rained, and we went to the aquarium, which was 5 minutes away. There is a game room with all the amenities for gamers. We had the best steak and burgers ever 4 minutes away at the Alamo Steakhouse. The owners were so easy to talk to and they even called to check on us, we really reccommend this cabin, for comfort and views, and the works. It is really a 5 star property. The pictures are great, but seeing the place in person was astonishing.

I would definitely recommend this property to others! It was very clean and the kitchen had everything you could possibly think of. Our children loved playing pool and PSIII. It was close to Gatlinburg and the entrance to the Smokey Mountain National Park. There was so much detail put into the decor. The owners were very easy to work with. We are looking forward to coming to Gatlinburg in the future and will book this property again! We felt like we were at home and were not ready to leave.

My family, friends and I just concluded our weeks stay at High Mountain Lodge, and no one is happy about it! No one wanted to leave! Not even the 14 year old girl - who had no one her age to "hang" with. We found the cabin delightful - PERFECT setting for our annual Christmas in July party. We found the cabin beautifully and comfortably decorated. The beds and linens were wonderful! Kitchen was fully stocked with high-end utensils and cookware - enough for us to prepare "Christmas" dinner. Even our "Christmas" trash was removed stealthily by "elves." We found covering the covered pool table perfect for spreading out craft supplies giving everyone space to decorate stockings for the deployed soldiers - what a fun time that was! The environment made even the men join in - and enjoy it! The view from the deck inspired this comment from a friend: "I always thought I had to go to the ocean to feel peaceful, but you can't get any more peaceful or closer to God than this." We were able to watch the fireworks from the deck, which allowed us to avoid the crowds (although we did go downtown for the midnight parade on the 3rd!). We enjoyed breakfasts on the picnic table on the deck. We rocked in the rocking chairs in the evenings - and weren't consumed by mosquitoes. We soaked in the hot tub - which was immaculately clean. In fact, the entire property was immaculate. Lynn was a joy to deal with. She made herself available 24/7 for questions or concerns from the moment I expressed my interest in renting. She was amazingly prompt with any communications, and very polite and personable. It has been our plan to go different places each year for our "party," but the votes are already being cast: High Mountain Lodge is a firm forerunner for next year! The memories created at High Mountain Lodge were priceless. Thank you, Lynn, for everything. You (and HML) are the greatest!

My daughter and grandchildren all have a birthday the first couple of weeks of June. This year we decided to take a birthday trip to the mountains to celebrate. We were delighted when we arrived at High Mountain Lodge! The house is everything and then some. The views were wonderful from the porch each morning for coffee and each afternoon for cocktails. The children loved having the basement floor as their own private domain and didn't let one day go by without visiting the hot tub. We had a full day of activities each day we were there and High Mountain Lodge was a wonderful place to come home to each night. The kitchen was specatcular and equipped better than any rental I've ever stayed in. Even the two mornings it rained were awesome. It was great having the washer and dryer on site so we didn't have to take dirty clothes home. I highly recommend High Mountain Lodge for a memory filled, enjoyable vacation spot.

The cabin was very nice to stay at, we enjoyed every part of it the hot tub, pool table, and texas shuffle board. The view was great day and night, We cooked all our meals there and also used the grill. there was plenty of dishes and pots and pans to have home cooked meals. We also loved the big 60 in tv in the living room and nice to have the tv's in the bedrooms when you wanted to get away. I also loved the swing on the lower level wished it was on the first level it was very comfortable. Hope to come back.

My family stayed at your cabin for three nights and it was awesome. We loved the beautiful cabin. It was clean and comfortable with everything we needed to make our stay memorable. I have no complaints at all. The view was gorgeous. The kids loved the game room. The location was perfect for a quick trip into Gatlinburg and back. It was, without a doubt, the most enjoyable vacation we have had in a long time. Nobody wanted to go home at the end of the week. We would highly recommend this cabin to anyone and will most definitely be back.

Our family gathering at High Mountain Lodge was definitely enjoyable!! The lodge was roomy and comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked with items (not food of course) needed to prepare meals on our days "in" and the beds and linens were wonderful. TVs and gaming items were plentiful as indicated. We never heard a single "I'm bored" from the grand children and the adults were able to relax and catch up while enjoying the views from the deck and listening to the chatter of happy children. Local area attractions were conveniently close. A great time was had by all. We would definitley recommend your lodge to others! The only problem we experienced was a bit of confusion with the directions once we reached Gatlinburg. Once that was sorted out, it was fun and relaxation for all. Thank you.

My husband, myself and 2 other couples spent a relaxing four days at High Mountain Lodge in May. The lodge was clean, well equipped and so comfortable. We especially loved the porches with their mountain views. The photos were very true to the lodge Black Bear Falls is a terrific location for all you can do in Gatlinburg. The area is also very quiet, if you just want to kick back and relax. We all agreed that we would pick this lodge the next time we visit Gatlinburg. I have mentioned it to some of my friends.

Wonderful view - nothing obstructing view of the mountains since this was the 2nd house from "the top." Fully equipped kitchen had everything we needed. We have very young children, so having each bedroom on a different level made sleeping arrangements difficult. However, the property is wonderful and exactly as advertised. Note: This would be an excellent rental for families with teenagers, since the basement has two TVs, several gaming systems, and a pool table, with a separate King suite on that level.

My family had a fabulous getaway in the Smoky Mountains! And this cabin was a large part of what made it so wonderful. My daughter, who has travelled all over the world, described it best when we arrived: " This place is UNBELIEVEABLE!" Very warm, comfortable and rustic. Beautifully decorated while keeping a homey feeling. Black Bear Falls is a beautiful community and very conveniently located. We visited the Food City often and cooked our dinners in the cabin after days on the trails in the National Park. Evenings we enjoyed the hot tub while we were amazed at the views. I only wish we had more time to enjoy it! Next Time!! Thank You Donald and Lynn for sharing your home with us!

Our family of 5 traveled down to High Mountain Lodge from Chicago and stayed 4 nights in this wonderfiully decorated, warm, clean, fun 3 bedroom cabin. We had loads of room with 2 adults and 3 kids 9 and younger. The views from the wrap aound porch were beautiful and we all enjoyed the Hot Tub. We cooked/ grilleded dinner 3 nights in thh very well appointed kitchen, everything is there that you need. We had lots of things to do inside during those few rainy days wit the pool table, XBOX, playstation and several TV's. The kids had fun playing board games on the porch too. We did go white wayer rafting on the little pigeon river and horseback riding in the Sugarlands stable in The national park, two things our kids have never doen and they had a ball. We spent most of our time in the National park and High Mountain Lodge was a wonderful "home away from home" to come back to after a busy day of hiking and exploring. The owners were really wonderful to work with and their direction were very easy to follow. Can't wait to come back and we may be sending some more friends from the windy city to stay!!

My family of 6 stayed at HML from 3/29/2011-4/3/2011 and had a great time! The house is completely loaded with high end electronics and wonderful kitchenware. We cooked 4 dinners at the home and never had any trouble finding utensils, bowls, pans, etc. The kids really enjoyed the xbox 360, texas shuffleboard, hot tub and the king size beds. My husband and I enjoyed the swing, hot tub, pool table and the big screen tv in the main living area. My 85 year old mother loved the mystery books, kitchen, rocking chairs outside and the gorgeous view. The neighborhood is easy to maneuver and only a few minutes away from the grocery store and restaurants. When we return to Gatlinburg we will definitely stay at HML again.

We spent three days in March at High Mountain Lodge. From the beginning as we made our arrangements for the rental, the experience was enjoyable. The owners are very efficient and prompt with all paperwork as well as responses to our questions. They were readily available for our every need. The direction packet was very detailed and instructions easy to follow. We checked in and found a gorgeous cabin with a very well supplied kitchen which is a plus since we cook a lot. The owner called the first night to make sure that check in went well and wished us a good stay. Well, it was. The view is splendid and we spent many relaxing hours on the porches. High Mountain lodge is located close to town so we did not have far to travel to be in downtown Gatlinburg. It was a sad time for all of us when we had to leave, but even sadder when we discovered that we had inadvertently left behind a bag of clothing!!!!! I called the owners who were more than helpful. They located the bag and made arrangements to have it shipped back to us. WOW! How's that for care and great service. That was just above and beyond what any business rental agency would ever do. It is nice to know that the owners are real people who really care that their clients are happy. We will be back to rent again but next time, we will stay longer. Thanks again to the owners who are really great people!

We all enjoyed the great High Mountain Cabin at Black Bear Falls. It was all the things we needed...relaxing, spacious, private bedrooms, fun and clean. We loved everything about it. We wished we could have stayed longer to enjoy the hot tub and pool table more. It was close to everything and yet far enough away to feel secluded. In one word...Perfect. I would highly recommend this cabin to friends. The owners were concerned for our comfort and that means a lot to us. Thanks for helping us make some great memories in Gatlinburg.

I would like to thank the Farr's, for allowing me and my family to have had the opportunity to spend the 2010 Holidays in their cabin. Our family did the family trip/reunion in Gatlingburg this year over all we had three cabins and by far the nicest looking and most homely feeling came from our cabin. When I visit the Gatlingburg area again I will definitively seek out to rent this cabin again, I would even go as far as saying that I will schedule around it's availability. I again would like to say Thank You, to Donald and Lynn for our great and everlasting memories.

Our vacation included 3 couples and 1 toddler. This house was perfect. Each couple had their own floor with a great bedroom and bath. This gave us the opportunity to be together but still have privacy for each couple. The location was minutes from downtown while giving you a "far off the beaten path feeling". The views from our decks were awesome. When it rained you could see a beautiful waterfall near the top of Mt. Conte. At more than 6,000 feet, Mt. Conte is nearly the highest peak east of the Mississippi. The owners have gone all out to make this property a beautiful place. We put the outdoor grill to great use, cooking steaks, ribs and burgers. The only thing we could suggest to improve this great house would be to put lights up over the grilling area. The owners were sooooo nice! They were a pleasure to deal with and made themselves available via email and phone to assist us in making our vacation as perfect as possible. We wholeheartedly recomend this property for a dream vacation. I hope to return to "Simply the Best" for another great week. Its on my to do list for sure.

First off, before we even left to go to the cabin, Lynn was exceptionally attentive and flexible with our group of seven women. We wound up changing our dates three times! Many thanks to Lynn! Pictures do not even begin to show how wonderful this cabin is. There is definitely a 'wow' moment on arrival at how nice the cabin is furnished, how great the view is of the mountains, and how clean it is. The furnishings are very nice and home-like, if not better. I don't know anyone with as many tv's in their home. The sheets and towels were of very high quality that you don't often find in other lodgings. The kitchen was stocked with plenty of dishes, glasses, flatware and cookware. And, let's not forget the porches/decks, the perfect places to kick back and enjoy the view from one of the many rocking chairs, the hot tub, or swing. If you are looking for a great place to stay that is close to everything but off the beaten path enough to be quiet and relaxing, this is the place! You might even see a bear like four members of our group did!

It's the second highest cablin in the area, with obsolutely beautiful views of the mountains. The cabin was cleaner than the pictures can depict. This cabin was very well maintained, neat, and clean. It was slightly too far to walk to downtown, but had several trolley stops on the way there. The entire property was well maintained, and the owners put together a binder of local activities as well as anything else you may need (hospital location, grocery store location, emergency contact numbers, map, etc.) that was left for you. The owners were very helpful and friendly when booking, and overall it was absolutely a great stay and experience (the owners even called the cabin after arrival to make sure that we were settled and happy with everything). The neighborhood was quiet and the view was very good, and all bedrooms and common areas had TV's (the living room TV is huge). This place is definitely worth the money, cheaper than any comparative place I could find for what I got, and we will definitely be staying here again! The Bullfish Grill had the best dining of our stay, and Bubba Gump's had a very fun and lively atmosphere.

Simply put, HML is great. The listing description is completely accurate, but really doesn't do it justice. The cabin is roomy, comfortable and nicely decorated. Beds and linens are ultra comfortable, the kitchen is well stocked and the cleaning crew do a great job. Just the whole package -- walk in and you're ready to go. On top of that, Black Bear Falls is a beautiful development. We found it to be just what we expected - a quiet retreat that is close and convenient. So, to sum it up, we are hoping to arrange another trip to Gatlinburg next year and HML is where we plan to stay. PS The upper deck offers a great view of the Gatlinburg fireworks!

We very much enjoyed this cabin! Everything was very clean and in great condition, just as pictured and described in the listing. The beds and other furniture were very comfortable and the layout worked well for our family. Lynn was very friendly and easy to work with when the reservation was made. The location is gorgeous, and you have lots of deck space to enjoy the view...you are in the mountains! A zoom lens was not used in the pictures shown of the view! But, we were still very close to town and all the activities there. We very much enjoyed the well-equipped kitchen, the hot tub, the neighborhood pool, the pool table and the flat screen TVs in every room. We visited after cancelling a beach trip because of the oil spill, and my 5 year old son said he liked Gatlinburg more than the beach! I would recommend this property and Black Bear Falls to anyone and hope to stay here again!

We loved the wonderful views and sitting on the deck or in the hot tub and just relaxing. Also, we found the owners very easy to deal with and accomodating.
