Mullins Bay House is a spacious, comfortable and stylish 4 bedroom family vacation home just a short stroll from Mullins Beach one of the best on the West Coast.
The house is available with only 3 bedrooms if you do not need all four. 2 extra bedrooms are available in our Garden Apartment which stands in the grounds.
It has a large pool and sits in an acre of superb tropical gardens filled with coconut, banana and golden palms, sweet scented frangipani, mango, lime and avocado trees. There are hardwood loungers and chairs around the pool which is set amid palm trees.
Mullins Beach is only 350 yards away and has a great restaurant, loungers/parasols, waterskiing and other water activities. Speightstown, the second biggest town in Barbados is just over a mile away with restaurants, shops and banks.
There are some 20 restaurants and eating places within 2 miles of Mullins Bay House. We can also arrange a cook if you want to get some meals prepared for you instead of going out.
The house is very spacious and furnished with hardwood furniture and stylish modern fabrics.
A large living/dining room opens out onto a big deck overlooking the gardens with outdoor dining table and club chairs.
The kitchen is very well equipped with dishwasher, fridge freezer, range cooker and a smaller table for children's meals. A second living room has satellite TV. There is a piano in the large entrance hall. The bedrooms all have air conditioning.
We have wonderful staff who are highly praised by all our guests. Anthea the housekeeper and Andrew the gardener have been with us for years will make you feel really at home on this beautiful green and friendly island.

I stayed at the main house at Mullins Bay House in May - and while I'd been to Barbados on two previous occasions, I'd never been in anywhere so impressive! The location is just a couple of hundred yards inland from the main road on the West Coast, so it's a good base from which to explore the island, and an easy walk down to the (very good) local beach - yet MBH and its large walled garden are a tranquil haven. The house itself is very spacious - our party didn't fill it - and very well furnished in a modern style. My room was large and cool, with en suite bathroom. The staff were very friendly and efficient: it's clear that Simon and Sarah pay close attention to what's going on, and have got a good team. The scale and style of the garden, with some impressive shady trees, set MBH apart. I enjoyed the pool, and most of all just sitting on the large verandah, relaxing and sipping beer... All in all, strongly recommended, and I hope to return!Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers.

We all thought this was the perfect place to stay in Barbados. The setting is superb with very big gardens, a nice pool and good beaches very close. We took Mullins Bay House and the Garden Apartment as there were 12 of us celebrating a special family birthday. The house and apartment are really well kept and had everything we needed. The staff were really nice and interesting to talk with. Somehow they manage to be laid back and still get all the work done. Speightstown is a nice little town close by whicvh had eveything we needed. Casareep Cafe gave us several very good value lunches on the beach. Mangos by the Sea was a good place for dinner as was the Fish Pot restaurant a bit further north. In Holetown we had good meals at Ragamuffins and the Mews and a fantastic meal at Tides on the birthday itself. On the South Coast Simon & Sarah steered us towards Shakers which was a great little restaurant. We brought home happy memories of friendly Bajans, relaxing days and some great food. This was my 4th visit to Barbados and the best yet.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, girls getaway, families with young children, age 55+.

We had a highly enjoyable and relaxing week's stay at the delightful Mullins Bay House which is in a quiet spot but only a few minutes walk from the excellent beach which also has a good restaurant. There's an enticing range of other restaurants and bars within a short driving distance. Mullins Bay House has all the amenities you could wish for, we were well looked after, there's a good swimming pool, and evenings sitting out on the verandah overlooking the lush garden were an added pleasure. I can really recommend it and we would happily stay again.Recommended for: Sightseeing, people with disabilities, girls getaway, families with young children, pet owners, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

The First Brazilian Family at Mullins Bay House I stay with my parents and sister at Mullins Bay House in September. We really loved it. The house is more beautiful than the photos in the site. It includes also the pool and the garden. The taxi driver was waiting for us at the airport with the key, as agreed with Simon. Anthea is very, very nice. She gave us a lot of attention, and was very patience, trying to understand my parents (in Portuguese!). Even the car rentals that Sarah indicated me was great. Barbados was really a very good experience to us, and Sarah and Simon house had contribuited so much to it. We are very honored to know that we are the first Brazilian family to stay at the house. And, for sure, next year, we will come back. This time, with more people. My brother is jeaulous because he could not came with us, because my sister in law is pregnant. Talking about it, the house is lovely for children. There is one very charm bedroom to them. Sarah and Simon, thank you again for sharing your home with us.Did you find this review helpful? This was our first visit to Barbados and the house is pretty central to most of the places to visit along the West coast. There were 9 of us using the house, an additional 4 in the garden apartment and some people we didn't know in the pool apt - none of which made me feel crowded - there's always somewhere to go if you need some personal space! Buses are really handy to get around if, like me, you want to fully rest on your holiday - but my friends hired Sarah's car for a few days and enjoyed exploring further afield. Mullins is lovely - a great place for families, safe, close to the beach and you wouldn't have to go anywhere if you didn't want to! We had Anthea cook for us one night - and were still eating the macaroni pie 2 days later - she cooks a lot of food! Was delicious though and I would recommend it. She also comes in to clean, tidy, change the sheets etc and that's a real bonus - particularly if you have kids! The pool area is gorgeous but you will need to wear shoes crossing the grass - that stuff is sharp! We have loved our stay in Mullins and Barbados in general and woul recommed our friends to stay here if they're visiting - I think that's the best satisfaction measure for anywhere - don't you?Did you find this review helpful? This is a wonderful place for a group holiday. The location is nice and quiet but convenient for beach, shopping etc. Mullins beach has loungers and a great bar/restaurant but we really liked Gibbs because it was so quiet. The staff are very efficient. We loved all the little touches - it was all so organised and well looked after. We enjoyed good chats round the pool with the other guests. The guides and factsheets we were sent were really useful in pointing us towards some very good restaurants. We will return for sure.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 4/5

We had a fantastic stay at Mullins Bay House. It was just what we wanted - somewhere close to the beach with its own pool. The property was very well kept and had masses of space inside, out on the decks and in the gardens which were great just to wander around and looking at all the lovely tropical plants and flowers. It is well located with Speightstown a mile or so away with a good range of shops and a supermarket. The staff were first rate. We enjoyed lovely waterside dining at the Fish Pot and Mangos in Speightstown which both had very good fresh fish but our favourites for local atmosphere were JuJu's beach cafe a couple of miles South and Dazzlers Bar & Restaurant which is up the hill a mile away with wedgies to die for. No chance of dieting here! We are missing Harry the Gardener's Rum Punch now we are back in England. Best trips were the catamaran cruise up the West Coast with lunch on board and swimming with the Turtles and a hop over to the East Coast to Crane Beach.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, girls getaway, families with young children, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

We were celebrating my husband's 50th birthday with 3 generations of the family gathered in this wonderful place. It was a fantastic 2 weeks which worked well for all age groups. The children had a ball in the pool for hours on end. The older generations relaxed on one or other of the decks with a glass or three of Harry's infamous rum punch. It was a joy to be here. The staff were brilliant and the house and apartments were just as described. Dazzlers Bar & Restaurant was our favourite - about a mile away. And for the birthday dinner we went to the fishpot about 4 miles North andenjoyed the waterfront dining and some excellent local fish. We will be back.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, girls getaway, families with young children, age 55+, families with teenagers.

Review Submitted: May 25, 2009 Date of Stay: May 2009 We thought Mullins Bay House was first rate and the gardens were wonderful - so many different trees, plants and flowers - all very popular with the humming birds and green monkeys which were regular visitors. We found the peace and the general atmosphere very relaxing. The house is very well equipped and comfortable with everything we needed. Our favourite memories are: enjoying the sunsets on Mullins Beach with a rum punch in hand, the excellent food at the Fish Pot restaurant and the warmth of the welcome from the staff who made us feel completely at home.Did you find this review helpful? I cannot recommend Mullins Bay House highly enough. The owners are wonderful and the house is great. Mullins beach is lovely and really close. It made a real difference staying in what felt like a home away from home. We ate a lot at Casareep Cafe in Speightstown. Great food and good value. I recommend the “Sea Eye” - a glass-bottomed boat with a difference! My 4 year old loved it and got a chance to swim with the turtles as well.Did you find this review helpful? About the owner: Hi and welcome to Mullins Bay House which is owned by Simon & Sarah Ellis, not forgetting Katy (11) & Sammy (8). We live in Cambridge, UK and visit Barbados several times a year for our vacations. We have owned rental property in Barbados since 2000 and now have 2 houses and 3 apartments on the West Coast. As well as the information on this page you can click through to see more pictures and details on our own website. We can also send you maps and fact sheets about the area if you email or call us - or if you prefer we will call you at a convenient time to answer any questions you may have.
Why the Owner Chose Mullins Bay:
We fell in love with the beautiful gardens at Mullins Bay House the moment we walked through the gate. We knew the neighborhood well from owning an apartment there since 2002. The combination of a quiet location with lovely beaches, restaurants and shopping all nearby makes it a perfect location for vacations.
The Unique Benefits at this Villa:
Watch green monkeys scamper along the fence - they visit us most days, especially when the mangos are ripe. Enjoy memorable sunsets on Mullins Beach. Dine overlooking an acre of gardens. Pick your own mangos, limes, coconuts and bananas. Go to the local fish fry at Half Moon Fort. Relax by the pool and watch the humming birds. Breathe in the wonderful scent of frangipani trees. BBQ freshly caught Marlin, King Fish, Tuna and Barracuda from our local fish market.
