Yellow House on Bayberry Lane
Location: Southport Island, Boothbay Harbor Region Mid-Coast and Islands, Maine, 3-hours north of Boston Mass and 1.25 hours north of Portland International Airport.
Accommodations: The “Yellow Cottage” sleeps 7, with 3 bedrooms and 2 baths. Available mid-May through September.
The Yellow Cottage is a one-level, airy and light filled space. It has a large living room with a red Franklin stove and dining area, a fully equipped kitchen, laundry room, and spacious screened porch that sits dramatically on boulders at the ocean’s edge. Both the master bedroom, with king bed and adjoining bathroom, and another bedroom with queen bed have ocean views. There is a third bedroom with 3 twin beds and a full bath accessed via the hallway.
With the Rachel Carlson Sanctuary on one side and the Ocean on the other, this Property only has two homes on it, so it provides privacy and quiet. The property is situated on a private point with the Ocean literally 75 feet away.
The town of Newagen, with a small public library, is a half-mile away. The Newagen Inn, with tennis courts, swimming pool and restaurant, is within 1 mile. The Island Store, a small charming general store, is about 2 miles away. Robinson’s Wharf, for the best fresh caught lobsters around, is less than 2 miles from the house.
Nearby Boothbay Harbor has charming shops, great restaurants and a new 18-hole golf course. There is easy access to boat rentals in Boothbay or at Southport’s Boothbay Region Boatyard.
