Originally built and designed for our own family, this unique and beautiful home on Pierce Pond truly is a “dream” home. It is situated on the edge of one of the most peaceful ponds in Downeast Maine. Shared with loons, herons, bald eagles and jumping wide mouth bass, Pierce Pond is one of the few bodies of fresh water that is not lined with camps and houses! And it’s also close to the magnificent coast. In 10 short minutes you can be in downtown Blue Hill or Castine and a ½ mile walk takes you to Northern Bay on the Penobscot coast.

The open floor plan has a large custom kitchen with granite tile countertop, stainless steel appliances and breakfast bar/island. Year Purchased: 2004
About the owner: My husband and I and our two children moved here in 2003. We are often pinching ourselves when we sit down and gaze over peaceful Pierces Pond. The tranquility here is difficult to describe. We chose this spot so that we could spend our summers swimming in the clean, fresh pond and still be close to the coast. Every summer we love to celebrate the return of the loons. They stay on the pond from early April to mid October. Bon fires and long days of swimming, sailing, kayaking and hiking are our favorite times here.
Why the Owner Chose Blue Hill: For its peace and tranquility.
The Unique Benefits at this House: Good clean water for swimming, and safe body of water for kayaking, sailing and paddleboarding.
