  Amazing location, walk to the harbor to Beach Bums and other restaurants and plenty of shopping. Good central location to hop in the car for short drive to Kihei or Lahaina. Overall this is a lovely condo. There were some minor issues that can be taken care of by the property manager who was very easy to work with. (we left a note about the items needing repair) The weirdest thing was the day we left, the party renting the condo after us was at our door at 7:45 AM telling us he was the next renter, but not to hurry! That made us feel rushed even tho we didn't have to be out until 11 AM

  We rented this condo for 8 nights in July and we were delighted with our stay. We had a direct view of the sea and could fall asleep to the sound of the waves. The building is located in a secure neighbourhood; from its location, we were able to visit the island. The condo is very clean and very well decorated, spacious and very well equipped which allowed us to take most of our meals there and do our laundry. It is also pleasant to deal with Barbara whose main concern is that her guests have an enjoyable stay. For all of these reasons, we strongly recommend renting this condo.

  This is just a LOVELY condo, we highly recommend it! We recently spent 10 days here with my 79 yr. old dad & all thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Lauloa, #302. The condo is beautifully decorated,(even better looking than pix show!) comes immaculately clean & fully equipped with everything you could need (and then some!) to make your stay in paradise comfortable. Condo was VERY quiet & very cool...we were never were uncomfortable from the heat as it has plenty of cross ventilation to let those winds blow the 'hot' out..we only used the fans, no A/C, the entire stay. Has a TV, stereo (for those aloha CDs you will buy & want to enjoy) along with dvds to watch- but who has the time! The lobby has a stash of books if you need reading material & an outgoing mail box to drop your postcards in- convenient! Condo even has a little 'nook' for yr. laptop if you need to stay 'connected' as we did. The view from the lanai is WONDERFUL- day AND night. Perfect view (directly overlooking) of the very clean pool, & also of the Maalaea Pipeline wave action, & the morning sunrise peaking over Haleakala. You will constantly hear the relaxing sound of the nearby waves crashing on shore & at night- the twinkling lights from across the bay & up the mt.side will help relax you even more as you sit & enjoy it all while lounging on the comfortable lanai furniture. If you look upward you will see just BEAUTIFUL stars shining in the dark sky..all of this combined makes your stress just melt away- just what we all come to paradise for! The Lauloa grounds is kept immaculate, the elevator makes it easy to access the condo, & the open parking was never a problem for us. Maalaea is such a central location- makes it easy to quickly hop on the hwy. in either direction to get to all of your planned activities/siteseeing. The condo is on a deadend street- no noisy traffic here..just sugar cane fields on one side, the ocean on the other..& a GREAT beach to walk just at the end of the condo's street. Loved that. We have rented from Barbara, the renting agent, several times before- she is just a delight to work with! She's most helpful & very knowledgeable if you need any area info. Her units are always clean, & very well equipped..when you arrive at the condo, tired from traveling, she has a little collection of aloha goodies to welcome you- including coffee & a loaf of island banana bread. Such a treat! We can't WAIT to return, thanks for a GREAT stay Barbara!

  This condo has everything that anyone would want. The kitchen has everything! It was clean and waiting for us! We saw whales off the lanai and the telescope was great. Just follow the whale watching boats and then look around where they stop. The beach at the end of the street was great for strolls and sun-bathing. The pool at the complex was clean and good size (unfortunately it was closed for 3 day during our stay for routine maintenance). It is quieter here and we enjoyed that-it is an easy drive to wherever you want to go. I would stay here again! Thanks Barbara for such a wonderful place and and for the treats you left us and all the island info....it was appreciated!

  OUR FIRST MORNING - WHALES!!! - We arrived at the condo late at night, did a quick snoop and went to sleep. I woke up to my husband saying he just saw a whale breach. We were still in bed so I thought he was joking, I looked over his shoulder and sure enough our whale watching had begun. This was within the first 30 seconds of waking up in Maui, a great start to our holiday! We stayed 12 days in 302 Lauloa and saw whales everyday. In 16 years of travelling to Maui we had our best whale viewing from this lanai. We didn't need binoculars to watch the whales pec slaps, tail slaps, and breaches. I often was watching 2 or three different groups at the same time. In fact, the tour boats leaving the marina would frequently be right out infront of our condo. OVERALL - Pictures for the listing don't let on how bright the unit really is. Bright but cool. It has been updated very well. 302 is very inviting and crisp. There is no carpet anywhere in this unit-love it. It has beautiful tiled floors, tiled bath and shower, and granite counter tops. All of the lighting has been updated, nearly everything is on a dimmer switch-great ambiance. MASTER - Is on the ocean side of the unit with a set of sliding doors to the lanai and French doors to close for privacy. We slept with the slider open and it was wonderful to fall asleep to the sounds of the ocean. The master bath has a double shower and is very spacious. KITCHEN - Very well equipped and is actually larger than it appears in the photo. Lovely oceanview while cooking at the stovetop. Washer and dryer are tucked away in the kitchen. The dining room seats 4. LIVING ROOM - Easily seats 6. The living room furniture is very comfortable. BEDROOM 2 - Is spacious and we had the twins made into a King. Our son laughed at the fact that he had a king bed while his parents had a queen. Both bedrooms had large closets and tall dressers. Both bathrooms had loads of hooks and towel bars to accomodate damp suits and towels. LANAI - Had nice sized table and 4 chairs that are perfect height to enjoy the view. Also has a reading spot with chair and footstool. AIRFLOW - With both sliders open the air flow from the winds was great. We didn't have AC on once. There are fans in each of the rooms. FEW NOTES - Never had an issue with parking, pool is oceanside and was very quiet, 5 min walk to shops/restaurants. We have found our new favorite hide away! If you like peace and quiet 302 is the place for you.

  We had a great time. My parents wanted a place that was big enough for 4 people, on the ocean, clean and quiet. We found that and more with this condo. The owners have clearly made a real investment in the remodel and it looks great. Everything was clean and comfortable. Well stocked kitchen, all the supplies, etc. Internet is very much appreciated. The view is great. Water is so close that you could throw a rock from inside the condo and hit the ocean - probably 30 feet to the water's edge? The grass below looks like carpet. Groundskeeping comes once a week on Friday mornings. Other than that, there isn't any noise in the whole development - and we were 3 floors above the pool! Back to the view --- this view is neat because it has character. Instead of being ocean front and looking straight out over the water into oblivion, this view looks out over the bay that is in front of Kihei. We could see Kula and Pukalani on the hillside, Kihei below, Wailea and Makena and in the distance, open water, Molokini, Kahoolawe and more open water. Lots of whales, too. At night the lights on the hill make for a neat sight. All in all, probably the best condo at Lauloa. I recommend it and would go back again. There's an elevator in the building, plenty of parking, 5 minutes by car to shopping, 12 minutes to Kahului airport.

  We've stayed in the Maalaea area on Maui several times. We like that the condos are built oceanfront on a dead-end street, so this is a relatively quiet area. If you're looking for nightlife, this is not the place for you, but if you just want to chill out and enjoy the views, this is the place. We love the morning views of the sun rising over Haleakala, and the activity in the bay. Fishing boats and snorkel tours are heading out in the morning, outriggers and paddle-boarders paddling by, the whale activity(in season, of course). It's a nice scene to enjoy on your lanai, with coffee/breakfast and the morning paper. The condo does NOT have a sunset view, if that's important to you. Also, there is not a beach directly in front of this condo. There is a beach for walking, a short walk down at the end of the street, but it's not a beach for swimming/snorkeling. Maalaea Bay gets some fresh water run-off from the sugar cane fields, so the water close to shore is often a little murky. One of our favorite Maui restaurants, the Waterfront, is within a short walk down the street, as is the Maalaea Small Boat Harbor, so you have easy access to boat trips(whale watch, sightseeing, fishing, snorkeling/diving). You can also walk to the aquarium, The Maui Ocean Center. The condo itself is nicely appointed, and recently "modernized". The furnishings are comfortable for 4 people, and the kitchen has new appliances and granite countertops. There's a nice HD TV, but no HD service is provided. We wish the Master Bedroom had a King-size bed, rather than the Queen, but the bed is very comfortable, and space is at a premium. A King would be a very tight fit in that room. All in all, for our needs, we really liked the place, and would stay there again. The rental agent, Barbara, is very conscientious, and does her best to insure you'll get what you need for a pleasant stay at Lauloa. She's the best we've encountered during our stays in Hawaii.

  We thoroughly enjoyed our 2-week stay in this lovely condominium. The complete remodel was very tastefully done with great architectural details, beautiful updated lighting, a very complete kitchen and new furniture well suited for this tropical setting. Lots of attention to detail throughout. Some of the best whale watching we have ever had in over 35 years of vacationing and living in Hawaii. We definitely plan to return to this "two bedroom oasis."
