Our philosophy as is that your vacation experience should be completely comfortable.
Top of the list: CLEAN. And we mean CLEAN in ALL CAPS! We are told over and over that our homes are the cleanest our guests have ever stayed in. It is one of Signature hallmarks and we take CLEAN seriously.
This near-ocean (two-minute walk down paved residential lane) classic cottage is spacious at 2,400 square feet and will surely become your family's favorite spot to return every year. We have filled the home with every amenity that you really WANT in a vacation home, and are usually disappointed NOT to find.
Things like a spotlessly clean and fabulously equipped kitchen are paramount to us and we know you feel the same. We have immaculate cabinets and drawers filled with crisp white dishes, heavy flatware and cookware, all matching glassware including wine glasses and even lucite wine glasses for the outdoor screened porch and decks overlooking the pool.
The home's decor is super stylish with a beach chic theme of cool colors and soft, inviting surfaces. The living room and den furnishings are both functional and comfortable, imperative for relaxing, and the dining room seats the entire family all at one seating.
Each bedroom is completely comfortable (a recurring theme ...) with the best bed linens we could find. We have all new sheets and super soft blankets, plus new pillows for you, our guests. Our ample supply of bath linens are just as cushy. These things are exactly what we look for in a vacation home for ourselves, so we know you feel the same.
Bedrooms: 2 Masters, each with King and private bath, 1 room with 2 twins that can use the Master#2 bath, or the hall bath, 1 room with queen, and 1 room with double and queen. 5 bedrooms total and 3 baths total (1 tub/shower combo and 2 walk in showers--1 all new!)
Attention to detail is apparent in the little (and not so little) things we provide like all new BIG LCD televisions (six in the house) and always-on Wi-Fi. The house is fresh and clean and completely comfortable. The large private pool is serviced twice per week in the busy seasons and is always chemically balanced and fun for the whole family.
Bringing two families or are the kids driving separately? No problem. Park and access up to 4 vehicles easily at all times, plus utilize an extra 1500 square feet of under house cover for bikes, wagons, and such. No need to bring your beach chairs, boogie boards, sand toys, or even beach towels. We have it all -- you just come and have fun!
LOCATION: See our map for exact location. Beginning at Coligny Plaza, the North Forest Beach streets are alphabetical and named for native birds (Avocet, Curlew, Egret, Gannett, etc.) Jacana Street is just far enough from the hub-bub to be quieter but still a quick bike ride into the center of the action.
FAQ:
BIKES: Biking is the BEST on Hilton Head. You can have adult and child-sized bikes, toddler seats, and pull-alongs, all delivered and waiting for you when you arrive. Please review our Guest Pak that you will receive when you inquire with your prospective dates of reservation.
BEACH EQUIPMENT: We have 6+ folding beach chairs at the house along with a big beach umbrella, rolling cart, sand toys and lots of beach towels. Take the umbrella with you to the beach OR, if you prefer, you may rent the traditional chairs and umbrellas directly from the lifeguards. Full information is in our Guest Pack which will be emailed to you when you inquire.
HOW FAR TO THE BEACH?: Walk out the front door and be standing in sand in less than 3 minutes! 10 Jacana is located straight down a quiet lane and you have your toes in the surf! It's an easy walk even for small children.

HOW TO CALCULATE YOUR TOTAL RATE: The published rental rate is a base figure to which is added 2 additional fees: (1) a 9% Resort/Amenity fee which covers such “must haves” as resort amenities, entry, parking where applicable, our Signature property preparation including full size, household (kitchen, laundry, bath) supplies and amenities, our fabulous Fili d’oro Italian bed linens and Signature stripe, all cotton bath linens, secure WiFi and complimentary 48-state long distance calling in all properties, and our unparalleled guest service including 24-hour direct phone line to a member of our team who will assist you with any issue or problem that may arise, (2) 10% sales and lodging taxes, and (3) damage insurance policy of $45 covering up to $1,500 in accidental damage when reported to BSSR before guest departure.

PAYMENT: a 50% deposit is required at time of reservation, with full payment at 60 days before arrival. My husban, two of our adult children and their families stayed for a week at this rental. It was the cleanest rental we have ever stayed in. Beautiful home with everything you need. All of the things for the beach was such a wonderful treat to have. Lots of beach chairs, umbrellas, sand toys, boogy boards, and a cart to take them to the beach. We experienced the first tropical storm of the season and Beverly was very helpful in answering questions we had about the storm. Great place to stay and hope we get to stay there again sometime.Recommended for: Families with young children, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, adventure seekers, sightseeing.

This very well kept up house had everything our multi-generational family of 9 needed. The house is very well equipped, even with many deluxe bath and beach towels. The pool was perfect, we were a 3 minute walk to the beach and a 8 minute walk to Coligny. Beverly and Pat were the most accomodating and personal rental agents I have ever worked with. They deserve an A +. Not to be overly "picky", but we would have liked 1 more bathroom (there were 5 women) and being one story, noise did carry especially when our 16 month old got up at 6:30 every morning!Recommended for: Families with young children, age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway.

We just got back from spending a week at this home, and we had a wonderful vacation! The way the house is set up was perfect for two families, as we each had our own side of the house - with the living areas in the middle. Having the second family room for the kids was a lifesaver! This is, by far, the most well equipped rental we have ever stayed in! Beverly and Pat have thought of everything! The proximity to the beach is perfect with just a short block and a half walk! Having access to a private beach was wonderful - no crowds! We are making this an annual trip, and we hope to be able to get this house each year for our stay!Recommended for: Families with young children.

We travelled with family members and shared this great home. Concerns over the air temperature and swimming were dismissed after the first dip in the heated pool! Water temperature was great when we returned from the two minute walk from beach. House had everything we needed for the week and the Island was once again wonderful.Recommended for: Families with young children, families with teenagers, sightseeing.

We came to HH for my brother's wedding. This house fitted our 3 families with no problem. Pat and Beverly were great to work with. They were very accommodating. Beverly's daughter also helped babysat my son. We didn't get a chance to use the pool because the weather was too cold even though Pat and Beverly heated the pool for us. We did, however, took advantage of how close the house is to the beach (1 1/2 block) and very close to stores. It was also very centrally located for all the wedding events. If we ever come back to HH, we will definitely rent this property again!Recommended for: Families with young children, age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway.

We have stayed two summers at this home and love it. The house is beautifully maintained and does not have the feel of a rental home. The location could no be better - quick walk to the beach and five minute bike ride to town. When we first arrived the Wi-fi was not accessible. I called Beverly and the problem was immediately solved. I highly recommend this home to anyone looking for a relaxing beach vacation.Recommended for: Families with young children, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing.

We had a family of ten consisting of two grandparents, two daughters and son in laws and four grandchildren. We found the house to be clean and inviting with a great floor plan, a well stocked kitchen, great beach towels and pool toys and a very short walk to the beach. The pictures were exactly what was there. We spent a great deal of our time in the wonderful pool which was very clean and clear. We really appreciated that there were enough pool chairs and the fact that at most times of the day there was a shady spot somewhere on the pool deck if someone wanted to relax out of the sun for a while. It was also a very short walk to the beach. The Welcome basket and the starter supplies were a pleasant surprise and something that we had not had on many previous visits to HHI. We would definitely like to return to 10 Jacana and would recommend it to friends and relatives. We visited Coligny Plaza several times for the cupcake store and the bakery, and of course Fresh Produce has the cutest flip flops anywhere. We love eating the best seafood a Skull Creek Boathouse and having dinner outside at Shelter Cove with live music at San Miguel's. Grandpa and Grandma hit Aqua for drinks one evening and the two other couples had a dinner at a bar at Coligny while we played games with the kids and feed them junk food. There were also a few trips to play miniature golf, a trip to Sea Pines and the lighthouse and beach pictures taken, as always by Legacy Design Photographers, but most of the time we relaxed at either the pool or ocean. We always enjoy our time at HHIRecommended for: Families with young children, age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway.

We have been going to Hilton Head for many years. As our family has grown, we needed a larger home. This one was perfect...3 min walk to the beach, great screened-in porch to enjoy morning coffee, clean and inviting pool, every little "extra" item in the kitchen, special touches throughtout the house. The kitchen is spotless and a pleasure to prepare meals. Two family rooms are great if you have kids...one for them, one for adults. The premises is inspected before your arrival. Temperature comfortable at 72 degrees set in the house. If there is a problem or concern, it's taken care of immediately...none of this "we'll look into it". Dependable service in every way at a responsible price. We know. We have rented at least 10 times in different locations, and have a time-share in HH. Hope to rent here again in the near future!Recommended for: Families with young children, age 55+, families with teenagers, tourists without a car, sightseeing.

The house and location were great. It was clean and well maintained. We had six adults and two toddlers and had more than enough space. The floor plan is really nice with the split bedrooms and two living areas. The kitchen was stocked with all the necessities and much more. It was great having the beach cart, beach towels, and toys to use. We encountered one problem with the wifi but it was resolved quickly after a phone call to Beverly. One negative: The week we were there it was in the mid 90s. The back two bedrooms on the beach side did not stay cool even when the overhead fans were turned on. This is such a great house, I would suggest adding extra vents to those bedrooms. I had the same problem at home and added the extra vents and it took care of the problem. My family is considering booking again; however, this problem is a concern.Recommended for: Families with young children, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing.

10 Jacana is a gorgeous property and the amenities were great. The home was much bigger than we were expecting and was the perfect floorplan for our 2 families staying together. Each family was able to relax in their own "wing" while also having plenty of common areas to interact in. The extra den was perfect for the kids and they were happy to have their own private area to play in. The outdoor area was great--the pool was fabulous and we loved all of the palm trees surrounding it. The location of the house was perhaps the best thing...a 2 minute walk to the beach! We found North Forest Beach to be a great central location on HHI and we could get anywhere in just a few minutes. If we find ourselves at HHI again, we would most definitely be happy staying here again.Recommended for: Families with young children, families with teenagers, girls getaway.
