The Matterhorn is conveniently located on the beginner run, Shotgun, at Big Powderhorn Mountain with easy ski in/ski out access for you and your kids.
The house is a two story with an open cozy feel, great for a large group. The main level features a large ski/boot room to hang up all your gear after a long day on the slopes. The main level also offers a sunken seating area convenient for your kids to play along with a gas fire place, a large seating area with new leather sofa, new flat screen TV with DVD player, WIFI, dining area, and a newly updated large full kitchen with granite counter tops.
The two bedrooms on the main level contain queen size beds with attached newly updated full bathrooms. You will also find a sauna and large hot/soaking tub on the main level for a relaxing soak after a chilly day of skiing. Adjacent to the main level is also a large deck great for watching the skiers go by or for grilling up dinner on the new gas grill.
The upper level contains four bedrooms, two with two sets of bunk beds each and the remaining two containing queen size beds. All bedrooms have newly updated attached full bathrooms. You will also find a loft area with a table for the kids to hang out and play games.
There are always lots of activities going on at Big Powderhorn Mountain. Look for them on the Events page of their website. You can also find many snowmobile trails, cross country ski trails and biking trails in and around Bessemer.

Why the Owner Chose Bessemer:
Our family has been skiing at Big Powderhorn Mountain for over 35 years and love the variety of terrain it offers. We decided to purchase the Matterhorn because of it's convenient ski in, ski out access for us and our kids and because it's large enough to accommodate our extended family comfortably each time we visit.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
We love to ski into the Caribou Lodge bar area for lunch when our whole family is out on the hill. They offer a great atmosphere, the kids enjoy the juke box, the pool table and video games, and we like the food. The Alpen Inn is also a great choice on the other end of the mountain. In the evenings, we also like to head back to the Caribou for dinner in the restaurant and the kids like to go down and play miniature golf while we are waiting for our food. The pizza is great as is the Friday night Fish Fry.
