WELCOME TO PARADISE!
Located in the most eastern tip of the island of Puerto Rico and only 45 minutes east of San Juan, Fajardo is known as "La Metrópolis del Este" (Metropolis of the East), and a major tourism and recreation area. The location is ideal, with easy access to the archipelago of Vieques, Culebra and the nearby day-sailing cays of Icacos, Diablo, Palominos and Palominitos. In addition, there are a number of large marinas in the area as well as an airport and a major nature preserve. The 316-acre Las Cabezas de San Juan nature preserve features a lighthouse that has been in continuous operation since 1882, is one of the oldest lighthouses in Puerto Rico and the only one used for nautical reasons in the entire island. The tour of this area includes the lighthouse, the mangroves and the Bio luminescent Lagoon, one of the few Bio-Bays in the world. Reservations are required to enter the grounds and take the tour.
We have the best of worlds, the El Yunque Rain Forest and the beautiful coastal beaches. The panoramic views from the apartment are spectacular and breathtaking. From the front, The Marina and the El Conquistador and Caribbean Sea and on your left an impressive, gorgeous panoramic views of El Yunque National Rain Forest and the Puerto Rican mountains. The sunset and sunrise are stunning. Seven Seas Beach (5 minutes from the apartment), with spectacular crystal blue waters and a white sand beach is located at Las Croabas, Fajardo, Puerto Rico. One of the top beaches of the world, Seven Seas is a popular beach for snorkeling around the coral reefs, and water sports. The clear waters are teeming with vibrant tropical fish and coral reefs and are protected by offshore reefs. The region is part of the National Parks System and is considered a "World Blue Flag Beach". In order to obtain the Blue Flag distinction, a beach has to comply with a set of very strict standards in terms of water quality, safety and services, environmental education and information. Blue Flag Beaches are continually monitored for water and land environmental safety.
Luquillo Beach (my very favorite in the whole island) is only 15 minutes away. Its turquoise colors are something to behold!
With access to the world famous "El conquistador Resort Country Club Hotel and Casino" Fajardo is popular among tourists, especially local tourists, because of its seafood, hotels and closeness to the smaller islands. Fajardo is the hub of the majority of recreational boating in Puerto Rico and a popular launching port for the many daily trips that are available to Culebra, Vieques, and the American and BritishVirgin Islands. It is also the home to the largest Marina in the Caribbean, called Puerto del Rey. Fajardo is well known for its excellent day sailing, snorkeling and diving. The day-sailing trips normally take you to one of the nearby cays for a day of snorkeling, sun bathing and feasting (food and soft drinks are part of the deal). These are; Icacos, Palomino and Palominito and Diablo among other uninhabited coral islands which provide even more opportunities for fantastic snorkeling, hiking and exploring. For the divers, there is excellent clear water all around the cays, with plenty to explore. Of course, the seafood in this area is fresh and delicious. Local companies or at local Marinas you can get and organize guided tours to take you for a fun day. Especially popular are the Kayak Tours of the Bioluminescent Laguna Grande, which is in Seven Seas Beach and next to Palma Vista Villa. Also 7 minutes by car and in the town of Fajardo ferryboats can take you to Vieques and Culebra, with more places to explore and World-renowned beaches to enjoy. Vieques and Culebra can also be reached by air from Ceiba Airport. Ceiba Airport, which is a 20-minute drive from our apartment. Where else can you hop on a ferry to visit two small islands, go on a catamaran to snorkel, drift on a phosphorescence river, go to a casino, play golf in a challenging course, delight yourself with best local cuisine, minutes away from an outlet?
Seeing more of the island is easy when you take a side trip to see its natural attractions as a part of a day at the beach. A perfect example is El Yunque National Rainforest, which is 22.8 km (14.2 miles) from our apartment. The variety of places with the best seafood you will enjoy is overwhelming using local fresh ingredients and produce and always a perfect service and a smile. From local traditional cuisine to international high-end restaurants at the Waldorf Astoria El Conquistador Resort, just 2 km (1.2 miles) from Palma Vista Villa.
Some interesting places to visit close by: Loíza (bomba y plena), Canóvanas (the racetrack), Río Grande (fabulous golf courses and El Yunque, the Caribbean National Forest), Luquillo (the best-known beach on the Island, Balneario de Luquillo), Fajardo (day sailing to the cays of Icacos, Palominos and Palominitos), Culebra and Vieques (exquisite beaches), Ceiba (the Ceiba Forest), Naguabo (the seaside boardwalk), Humacao (a strip of excellent seafood restaurants), Juncos and Las Piedras (local artisans), Yabucoa (Lucía Beach) and Maunabo (the start of the Luis Muñoz Marín Route).
The minimum rental period for the property is five (5) days and the maximum occupancy is six (8) persons.

On our vacation we stayed first 5 days in Fajardo and then moved for 4 days to San Juan. To summarize our experience at this place - we didnt want to leave. Simply beautiful condo. Want to have a nice morning coffee with a beautiful view - there is a nice area by the window. Rooms are very nice. Must have a car. Ralph's Supermarket is 10-15 minutes away. Fresh food every day. Ferry to Culebra/Vieques - 10 minutes away. Very nice Luquillo Beach - 15 minutes away. Rain Forrest - 15-20 minutes away. We went to a different place every day and even came back to Luquillo beach after we moved to San Juan. Another important thing when renting on VRBO - the owner of the place is great! All communication was very quick and very helpful. If I am ever back in Puerto Rico - this will be absolutely the first place I will check on. Will also recommend to all friends who go to PR.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children, adventure seekers.
Owner response: Thanks for taking the time to write and post a review. In a nutshell you have described many of the wonderful sites and activities that are close at hand. Specially, I appreciate your comments on our efforts to be responsive and provide our guests with the information they need as soon as possible. Having rented from other VRBO owners several times I have learn how important good communication is to having a pleasant stay ...

The location was excellent because it was only a five minute drive to Seven Seas beach with many excellent restaurants along the way. We also went to other beaches 20 minutes away. The apartment provided very comfortable living with beautiful carribean art decor in all the rooms. We really enjoyed being able to see the spectacular viiews of the mountains and the sea from the 23rd floor. It is a short drive to a beautiful rainforest offering easy and interesting walks. We would definitely recommend this apartment as a vacation rental.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children, adventure seekers.

My husband and 2 adult children (ages 18 and 20) stayed in Dos Marinas apartment for one week. It is a spacious apartment with 3 nice sized bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. The living room opened up to the enclosed balcony and this spot was my favorite because of the spectacular views. The apartment is brightly painted with colorful paintings on the walls. The kitchen has newer appliances and was well stocked with a couple of exceptions. There was only a 4 cup coffee pot and as we are big coffee drinkers; we were forced to make at least 2 pots every morning. There was also no small saucepan with a lid for making rice or heating up something over the stove; but plenty of larger stock pots with lids. There is a great George Forman grill and a good blender too! The only places that had air conditioning were the bedrooms. I thought at first that this would be an issue but it really wasn't. There were great breezes since we were up so high and this cooled things off pretty well. The community pool is huge and a great place to hang out. We felt very secure as you needed keys to enter the grounds and parking areas as well as the common doors. One issue for us was that we only were given one set of keys and we had 2 adult children with us who would have liked to go out on their own a bit. To be fair though, we did not ask for another set of keys so perhaps they have them available if requested. The location in Fajardo is really nice and within driving distance of many area attractions (rainforest, Old San Juan, Luquillo Beach, Several Marinas and lots of restaurants. All in all a great experience! I would recommend this apartment to others.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children, romantic getaway.

Sorry it has taken me so long to write this review! No reflection on you, just a busy re-entry into life at home. I miss the slow pace of the east end of Puerto Rico! Thank you, Zoveida, for listing your lovely condo in Fajardo on VRBO. My husband, myself and our adult children and son-in-law stayed in your condo for a week. (ages 27-60) The photos with the listing were a great introduction to the property but did not do justice to the views from the condo. We loved the view from the sun room- the marina (with lots of big sailboats coming and going) on one side and rainforest on the other. We enjoyed the clean, comfortable furnishings. Nothing too fancy- just right! I especially appreciated the well equipped kitchen. Loved having 3 bed rooms & 2 baths! We spent many quite hours reading in the living room & playing Scrabble at the dining table. I must say that the location of the condo requires that you are organized when you shop. There are no store close by. One thing that would have been very helpful would be a notebook with maps, phone numbers, etc to beaches and grocery stores, drug stores, restaurants, etc available in the condo. There were a few brochures but that was it. We enjoyed the excursions we took. Thank you for suggesting El Yunque it was amazing. We saw the biggest snail & ferns ever there, got socked in in a ground-level cloud, wished we had taken bathing suits to be able to play in the waterfall! My claves were killing me the next day from all the hiking up & down the trails, but it was worth it! We went on a catamaran trip with Spread Eagle Catamaran- great group! You can actually see their boat from the sun porch window down in the Marina. The beaches close to Fajardo were beautiful. One of our favorite activities was kayaking in the biobay- we went with the vendor you sugggested called Enchanted Eco Tours. They were very professional & we all felt very safe. We loved old San Juan, exploring El Morro was very interesting. Two of our favorite restaurants in San Juan were St. Germaine and Café Puerto Rico. In Fajardo we enjoyed 2 that you listed in an email- La Estacion and Costa Maya. The ferry to Vieques runs to the "rhythm of its own drummer!" We did manage to eat at a very good restaurant called Bili during our short visit. We went to Catholic mass on Christmas Eve. the music was greatl! We had a wonderful time in PR! We would come visit again any time & will recommend your condo to family and friends!!Recommended for: Tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children, romantic getaway, adventure seekers.
Owner response: Thank you so much for taking the time to write the review and also thank you for your feedback and advise. What I strive for is for our guess to have a great time. Although we have a binder with brochures, I will make sure to put together a notebook with maps and tel numbers of various merchants in the area. Angela Zoveida.

Thank you for letting us use your lovely condo. The views were breathtaking and the afternoon breezes quite pleasant. My mom and I loved sitting on the glassed in patio, drinking our coffee in the mornings and watching the beautiful yachts leaving the harbor for their morning excursions. The location was great for the scenic beauty...rainforest views on one side of the condo, harbor and ocean views on the other. One day we even drove around the corner to the harbor fish shack and got some snapper that had JUST arrived! It doesn't get an fresher that that, and was probably the best fish I had ever had. The kitchen was appointed perfectly for what we needed. Thanks again, we will be coming back in the future!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, people with disabilities, sightseeing, families with young children, pet owners, romantic getaway, adventure seekers.

This was a nice get away for us. We were looking for something quiet, out of the daily hustle. Fajardo offered us quiet and beautiful environment. The marina is gorgeous; the views of El Yunke are spectacular; and Fajardo offered plenty of daily excursions to neighborhing islands. The apartment is gorgeous and well appointed. We would recommend this apartment to our friends.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children, romantic getaway, adventure seekers.

The location is around 45 minutes from San Juan; not far at all. But, a car is mandatory. There is almost nothing (other than a convenience store) in this vicinity. But you can drive for 5-10 mins and find plenty of groceries/shops once you are accustomed to the area. The owners rely on a local maintenance agent to keep the condo and manage rental logistics. As a result, not everything may be up to your expectation. For example, at a high floor and being exposed to the ocean (which provides good view) you may have hard time blocking strong winds. The windows and doors are old and don't seal well. Also, feel free to pack personal essentials as the local attendants may not stock those in the condo. First couple days you may have to hunt around for little-but-important items and buy yourself. During our stay, a broken blind on a bedroom window took 3 days to fix, despite all attempts from the owners to do their best. However, there are a lot of stuff in Puerto Rico that can keep you engaged for a while. The ferry to Culebra is a must-do; plan to book a bio-bay tour in advance so your seat is available. We thought the electric boat will be easy; but it broke down and we could not get another option. A very pleasant surprise was "Las Cabezas de San Juan Nature Reserve" tour. Don't even try to book over phone; it does not work. Go online and book a tour of your choice; it will be a 3-4 hour well-spent time that the entire family will remember. Needless to say, no booking = no tour. These trips are always full a few days in advance. Overall, a good experience in PR and will most definitely try to return. If this condo has been maintained better and a few over-due upgrades are completed, I will need to check in advance to ensure.Recommended for: Age 55+, people with disabilities, sightseeing, families with young children, romantic getaway.
Owner response: This building is one of the last tall buildings constructed at the water's edge. We recently purchased this apartment and we have been making upgrades as we have been able including redecorating, replacing the stove, micro-wave and air conditioning units. The remaining major item is upgrading the windows to better control ventilation and enclose the balcony. We have just signed a contract for this work which will be completed within the next two months.

Why the Owner Chose Fajardo:
We have lifelong ties to Puerto Rico, but we have always loved the Fajardo area. My two favorite beaches, Luquillo and Seven Seas, are a few minutes drive away. Outside the San Juan area you find less traffic, and a relaxed atmosphere. Fajardo has a small town feel and people are very friendly resulting in a wonderful quality of life. The combination of the lush vegetation on the mountains on one side and the turquoise of the sea on the other side force you to slow down and relax. A few years ago I visited a friend who lives at Dos Marinas and had the opportunity to see a family of manatees and a group of dolphins frolicking and fell in love with the place there and then!
The Unique Benefits at this Condo:
This corner apartment is one of the few 3-bedroom units in Dos Marinas.
