ACTIVITIES AND ATTRACTIONS
While the setting of Harbor Island (approx. 1700 acres) provides a relaxing atmosphere, the active minded can readily take advantage of the Island's Beach and Racquet Club. It offers tennis courts, an Olympic sized swimming pool, a wading pool for infants, beach volleyball courts, Children's playgrounds, and fitness center with state-of-the-art equipment.
For golf enthusiasts, nearby Lady's Island Country Club offers access to 36-hole course designed by Gary Player. Additionally, Hunting Island State Park (containing South Carolina's only light house open for public viewing within) is adjacent to Harbor Island.
Within just a few miles of Harbor Island, the city of Beaufort awaits you with an abundance of history, art, culture, and natural beauty. It is the second oldest city in South Carolina, with more homes on the National Historic Register than any other town its size.
Carriage, walking, or motor tours are available within the downtown area providing you with background history of the "Spanish mossed" neighborhoods where homes date back to the 1700's. Also, the downtown area provides you with a shopping district where antique stores, galleries, and boutique shops abound along with casual eateries, cozy bistros, and world class restaurants.

This is by far truly a jewel. I have rented homes and condos through VRBO but this home was truly the best I have every stayed in. The owners provide everything you could possibly need from kitchen accessories to beach towels, children's wagons and toys to bicycles and golf cart, all you have to do is pack your clothes. Within walking distance (but you don't have to walk because they provide a golf cart and bicycles) from this home is a beach access, pool, exercise equipment, basketball, tennis and more, but is also a peaceful quiet area that that is appealing to the young and the older, young at heart. It is close to outlet shopping and the area is full of historical sites. My mornings began with a cup of coffee on the porch listening to the birds singing, which was so peaceful. Cudos to the owners for what they have provided for others to enjoy. Thanks for a great vacation. :)Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children, romantic getaway, adventure seekers.

Excellent place to stay. I would highly recommend this place. It comes with everything you need but your swimsuit. The only improvement would be the occasional "Go Gamecock" sign - then it would be heavenly.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, age 55+, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children, romantic getaway, adventure seekers.

Just returned from a fabulous family vacation! The house was well equipped and maintained. Everything we needed was available. The favorite meal was our low-country boil we made after a full day on at the beach. We loved Harbor Island!Recommended for: Families with young children.

We had a wonderful stay. This home is beautiful, has a great location, and is very well equipped. The owner is extremely attentive and helpful too.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children, adventure seekers.

It Includes: New Construction (2008), House located within subtropical maritime forest, Outside color (sea mist green/white trim), parking for multiple vehicles underneath house, landscaped yard with sprinkle system, palmetto, oak, and palm trees in yard, new appliances and furniture (2008), all hardwood (except tiled bathrooms), queen sized bed in two bedrooms, full size bed in two bedrooms, and full size pull out sofa, master separate shower and tub, guest bath combination shower/tub, full linen supplied with rent, fully equipped kitchen/dining area, large family room with vaulted ceiling, washer and dryer, TV with DVD (TVs in all bedrooms), electric fireplace, two screened in back porches with marsh view (eating area with chairs) in addition to spacious deck, ceiling fans in all rooms, charcoal and gas grills, short distance to the beach, golf cart included with rental fee, wireless internet, Harbor Island community pool and Beach and Racquet Club within short distance.
