My friend and I went to Lake Tahoe for a ski vacation and really enjoyed staying in the Pioneer Bungalow! We were 5 minutes from Alpine Meadows and 10 minutes from Squaw, so getting to the mountain was super easy. The bungalow could not be in a better location - we were able to walk to dinner every night and really enjoyed spending time in Tahoe City. It is such a cute quaint town with lots of personality. The bungalow was extremely clean and comfortable. The bedding was very cozy and the kitchen was equipped with everything we needed (coffee maker, filters, toaster, basic cooking utensils, etc.) We made breakfast every morning and packed a lunch for the mountain each day. It was the perfect fit for us! I definitely would like to get back to Tahoe City with my husband and plan on staying at the Pioneer Bungalow again.Recommended for: Sightseeing, romantic getaway, girls getaway, adventure seekers.

We planned a 3 night stay in September but due to a deluge of rain, we cut our trip short by a night. We would have stayed had the cabin been more comfortable to hang out in. Although the cabin is clean and well stocked, cute kitchen and bathroom, it is dark and there is no view or outdoor common area. My husband, who is 6 ft. 3, and I found the bedroom and bed to be very uncomfortable for the two of us. You can't beat the price and the location is great (except for the steep walk up the hill) and we enjoyed exploring on foot. Next time I think we would probably opt for a bit larger cabin with more light and a deck or yard. We agreed that this place is perfect for people who just need a clean place to sleep, who will spend alot of time out of the cabin and don't care about a comfy sleeping situation. Having said that, it is affordable and well worth the $ for a place its size right in town.Recommended for: Families with young children, tourists without a car, adventure seekers.

My wife, son and I had a great trip in Lake Tahoe! Matt and Tricia were wonderful hosts and the apartment was cute, clean, cozy, and convenient. They are certainly family friendly as they have young children but also fully respected our space and were willing to help with questions, etc. The apartment is about a 5 minute walk to downtown shops, the bus, jet-skiing (Tahoe Water Adventures), bike rentals (Olympia Bikes), restaurants, and about a 5 minute drive to Safeway and CVS. No complaints at all and we would and will definitely stay there again! Thanks guys!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children.

My husband and I really enjoyed our stay here. The bungalow was perfect for us for a weekend, birthday celebration get-away. It was fresh, clean, quiet, and the owners were very pleasant. It's very close to town and soooo much better than a hotel room. Highly recommended.Recommended for: Sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, adventure seekers.

The pioneer bungalow was perfect for 2 of us. May have been a little cramped for more people but probably would've been doable with a couple of small children. The decor was very tasteful and it was very clean. The location was awesome in a quiet neighborhood-walking distance to all the shops, restaurants, and bars in Tahoe City. I will be returning to this rental property.Recommended for: Sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, tourists without a car, adventure seekers.

We really enjoyed our stay in Tahoe City. The bungalow was very tidy, and tastefully decorated. It was nice to be so close to town. This house would be most ideal for a couple, but also worked well for our family with two young children. They slept on the futon in the living room, and we had the bedroom (the bed and linens were very comfy!). We would definitely stay again!Recommended for: Sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, adventure seekers.
