St. Helena house description
MAIN HOUSE NOT AVAILABLE AT THIS TIME. ONLY THE 2 BDRM GUEST HOUSE WILL BE RENTED OUT AT A NIGHTLY RATE OF $650-750. This spectacular vineyard estate is 10.3 acres of absolute splendor! The ambiance of country living couldn't get any better. Located right off the Silverado Trail in the prime wine district of the Napa Valley, and close to downtown St. Helena, 5 minutes from Meadowood Country Club and golf course. And only 30 minutes over the hill to Santa Rosa. The house is built to resemble a Tuscan Villa. Besides the sweeping vineyard view from the terrace, the natural and planted landscaping has several gardens, fruit trees, olive trees, roses, and lush green lawns surrounding the property.
The main house is 5000 sq. ft. with multiple French doors opening out onto 4500 hundred feet of gorgeous flagstone terraces. There is a beautiful cement balustrade railing surrounding the vineyard side of the terrace. Vineyard views from this terrace are breathtaking, which also include the swimming pool and tennis court down below. This is where you can really capture the magnificent space surrounding you. There's an old limestone fountain directly off the rear of this terrace near the entry to the master bedroom which also has a large outdoor wood fireplace with seating area, plus table/umbrella and chairs. A perfect place for that late afternoon book to read and glass of wine. Past the fountain and rose garden there is a Bocce Ball court beneath the shade of old Oak trees.
Entering the inside of the Villa from the front door, one feels the size of the rooms immediately! Straight ahead is the living room with exceptionally high ceilings, an enormous fireplace and mantel. Further beyond is an elegant dining room which can seat 12 people. The floors have large glazed clay tiles throughout the house which have radiant heat. With its many French doors surrounding the rooms, it brings the outside in. There are 2 entrances from the living room to the gourmet kitchen which is 45 ft. long, with high ceilings, fireplace and den. Adjacent to the kitchen is another foyer with a back door entrance from the courtyard. This room houses the laundry closet, and a full guest bath. From this hall you would enter a seperate closet to a stairwell that goes up to the loft. This is a large comfortable bedroom with a queen size bed, large desk, dresser with night stand, and flat screen TV. The entrance to the master bedroom quarters is also in this vicinity. There is a large master bath, separate double head shower, and a separate room with toilet. The walk in closet is large, open, and airy. The master bedroom has an impressive 30 ft. ceiling, with windows and 2 French doors that go out to the terrace. There is a wood fireplace and high mantel which really add to the magnificence of the room. The beautiful carved wood poster king size bed is firm with plush padding. You can hear a pin drop sleeping in this wonderful domain!
There are French doors leading outside from the kitchen to a beautiful courtyard with another fountain, rose/herb garden, charcoal BBQ, and eating area with table/umbrella and chairs.
The Guest House entry is located off this courtyard upstairs above the garage. This very comfortable 1600 sq. ft. apartment has 2 spacious bedrooms, full bath, kitchen and living room with comfortable sofa. All windows have great views.
This is the ultimate destination for peace and quiet. The perfect time of day to experience the magic is early in the morning as the sun is rising or early evening when the sun is setting. Breathtaking views are reminiscent of a Maxfield Parish painting! Besides fresh eggs, we also have our own Crystal Springs well water which is absolutely the best tasting water out of the tap! During the summer months there is an abundance of fruit from our many fruit trees. We also have a vegetable garden which include tomatoes and fresh basil.
This is the perfect family retreat. Great for couples too. We are located in the very heart of the best wine region. Crystal Springs Road is directly off the Silverado Trail on a quiet country road that is perfect for walking, hiking, jogging, and biking. Calistoga and St. Helena are both just 8 minutes away.

The house and property are way better than the photos! Drive up past the chickens and horses and leave your cares behind (but you’re still just a 5-min drive to St. Helena)! The vineyard setting, the gorgeous pool (where we spent much of our time—plenty of pool towels provided!), the tennis and bocce courts, the many outdoor seating areas and patios (with twinkle lights, barbeque, and outdoor fireplace for those relaxing evenings at home). Now venture inside: beautiful tile floors throughout, large and comfortable living room, dining room, enormous master bedroom and bath, comfy small bedroom up front. The twenty-somethings stayed in the loft bedroom (ladder too steep for elders!) and were thrilled with their upstairs lair. Then there’s the kitchen…fabulous! We hung out here a lot. Two ovens, two refrigerators, two dishwashers, big gas stove top, butcher block prep area, and all the tools, platters, bowls, etc. you could want, which we did, as we celebrated my husband’s milestone birthday in amazing wine country style. Oh, and I forgot to mention the separate but adjacent apartment (we called it the “casita”…it’s up a flight of stairs right off the patio with the barbeque) with beautiful tile floors and lovely living room, kitchen, bathroom and 2 bedrooms, where more family members stayed in total comfort. Like the previous reviewer, we had some minor TV issues (but didn’t really care about watching, so it wasn’t a problem), and would have preferred central A/C (they’re supposedly putting it in). One more bathroom would have been welcomed as well. But these are truly small quibbles…the place is immaculately maintained, very well equipped, and beautifully situated. It’s the perfect place to go bliss out in wine country. We just didn’t stay long enough, so definitely must return!

We just spent a long 4th of July weekend at this house and had a fantastic time! We had several families staying with kids ages 12-16. The basics: house was very clean - impeccable bedding and towels, clean fridge, pool ready to swim in, outdoor furniture clean and ready to use, etc. HIghlights for us: - Spacious and comfortable interiors. Common rooms (living/dining) are large, but honestly we spent very little time in them. We were either hanging out in the kitchen or outside or sleeping! The nice thing is that if you have a larger group, there are common spaces to be together or the house is big enough that you can get away from the group if you want some quiet. - Kitchen is large and well-equiped - two refrigerators side by side, two dishwashers, two ovens and a big gas stove. Our families love to cook so this made things nice and easy. Outdoor bbq is on the patio right off the kitchen. We were able to pick ripe peaches and figs from the trees on the property and ate fresh eggs from the hens every day! - Outdoor areas are awesome! The pool is terrific - 80ft. for swimming laps but wide enough that the kids had room to play. My favorite spot was the vine-covered arbor over the pool chairs. It was perfectly situated so that you always have shade but are right next to the pool. There are also many different seating areas outside. We could have drinks and apps down by the pool near the vineyard while the kids played bocce ball up above, eat dinner off the kitchen, and have a night-cap and star watching from the patio with the fireplace. - For us the location was perfect. It is rural yet still quite easy to get in to St. Helena (about 5+ min. by car). The road in front of the house is quiet and flat and perfect for bike riding. There was a quick hike up to a reservoir or you can just go for a stroll on the road. Things to consider: - Does not have central air con. There are portable room air con units, fans and the most amazing built in door screens. We caught a couple days of an unusual heat wave (100+) - it was pretty warm in the house but we just spent more time by the pool. Once the heat wave broke it was perfect! - TV system was glitchy and remote didn't work (though I think will be fixed soon) - it ended up being great since the kids couldn't park in front of the TV! - The loft (3rd) room in the main house is up a really steep ladder/stair. Awesome for older kids but not for the really young/old. We all agreed, we would go back anytime!

Why the Owner Chose St. Helena:
It is very picturesque with the many colorful trees and mountain views surrounding the property. This area has very rich soil. It also has a lot of Black Obsidian, thus the name nearby 'Glass Mountain'. The climate is perfect for the vineyard. Some of the best wine comes from this region.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
Total privacy and very quiet, flowers abound, fantastic views, wide open rural space, beautifully decorated!
