Recoleta apartment description

Maybe you've searched a lot, maybe this is your first listing. However, I know that everyone runs into the fisheye lens at some point. You know those apartments that are listed with fantastic (wide angle) photos showing a ton of space and light and as soon as you arrive you realize that it is actually half the size and only has one window? And, everything is made of plastic. Well, this apartment will be a refreshing surprise for you. It's one of few places that is impossible to photograph to fully express its true charm and size. Once you step through the front door you will fall in love. We did.

The total area of the apartment is 150m. The master bedroom and suite are located on the first floor and the guest room and bathroom are located on the second floor of the apartment. The ceilings are 5m high with exposed brick throughout the apartment. There are hardwood floors throughout the apartment, except for the entrance foyer which is done in a traditional red tile. The entrance foyer serves as a greenhouse for the apartment and is filled with plants and opens out to the small garden, the kitchen and the living area.

The living area is about 80m and includes a 51-inch flat-screen television, hi-speed wireless internet, basic cable, Sony Playstation and surround sound. There are three balconies in the living area that open out onto Laprida. The center balcony has a marble breakfast table and chairs. The other two balconies have flower beds and sun chairs. There is air conditioning throughout the apartment, space heaters and a working fireplace that heats the entire first floor. The kitchen is an open plan and fully equipped. There is a 6m long, 100-year-old wood table that runs the length of the dining and kitchen area. The table came in by crane and was previously used in a garment factory.

The master bedroom suite is accessible from the kitchen and the small garden. There are two sets of doors that allow the actual bedroom and bathroom to be private from the rest of the house. There is a walk-in closet. The ceilings here are 5m and the walls are exposed brick which have been painted. The bed is queen-sized, extra long, and temperpedic. The guest bedroom is only accessible from the staircase in the entrance foyer. It is completely private and has it's own air conditioning system. There are two twin beds which can be combined to make a single queen. The linen closet is stocked with over-sized Egyptian cotton towels and 1000 thread count sheets.

We have no special rental requirements concerning children. We would like to limit pets to small or medium-sized dogs. We are negotiable on this but need to be contacted first. We would prefer long-term rentals. We would like to avoid 'party rentals.' It's a perfect apartment for a family or for a business executive. The Finnish Ambassador to Argentina stays here frequently because he prefers to be closer to his office than his home.

We have maid service Monday-Friday. The apartment is located on a quiet street and has many amenities near, including a gym, three supermarkets, Abasto Mall, restaurants, delivery and plenty of taxis. We also have two cruiser bicycles with locks for use within the city. One is a women's bicycle and one is a man's.

This is a very special place. We bought it because we fell in love with it when we saw it. It is extremely comfortable and close to everything in the city. It's an excellent base for all your adventures and a wonderful place to come home to after partying all night or just exhausted after exploring Buenos Aires. There's plenty of room here for tango, for love, for fun, for everything you discover in Argentina. It's a very traditional home which has been filled with modern comforts and if your goal when on vacation is not to live like a tourist, then you've found the right apartment. Here you can live like a porteño.

                  About the owner: I live in Helsinki, Finland, where the summers are stunning and the winters are beautiful but cold and dark. So I escape to Buenos Aires every winter. This apartment is my home away from home. When I am in Finland, traveling or not coming for the winter, my place is available for rent.

It has the hustle and bustle and amenities of city life and the beautiful architecture, gardens and ambience of France. I saw thirty different apartments in Buenos Aires before I came to Laprida. Some were impressive and some were lackluster, but none had the personality that was immediately apparent at Laprida. This place has soul and I was sold. In addition, the location in Recoleta/Barrio Norte is perfect. It's a growing part of the neighborhood yet it remains quiet and peaceful and close to everything.
