Mountain Thunder Lodge and Townhomes is a sophisticated retreat ideally located on the side of the mountain, nestled in the pines at the base of Peak 8 in Breckenridge. The first-class property is comprised of two larger Lodge buildings and a collection of Townhomes. One of the newest luxury properties in Breck, Mountain Thunder offers ski-in / gondola-out convenience and easy walking distance to Main Street, seamlessly combining seclusion, accessibility and casual mountain elegance.
Mountain Thunder Lodge and Townhomes mix the slate, granite, cedar, moss rock, and rough sawn timber of Colorado's largest historic district with luxurious modern amenities like high-speed internet access, a year-round outdoor heated pool, state-of-the-art exercise rooms, and a full time concierge. The entire property offers a ski-in/gondola-out experience. The base of the gondola is a mere 200 yards away, providing fast and easy access from the townhouse directly to the base of Peak 7 and Peak 8. This mid-mountain base is also where you can find on-mountain dining, ski schools, childcare, equiptment rentals, and several other lifts for exploring the rest Breckenridge Mountain has to offer. Mountain Thunder is also just one block from the center of Main Street, which offers it's own famous assortment of sightseeing, history (the town and many of the buildings are from the 1850s), shopping, dining, and nightlife.

The townhome was a perfect spot for our second annual guys ski trip. Location was ideal. Able to literally ski to the front door ( having recent snow fall) by taking the four o'clock run, and finding a path that doubled back and ended right by the hot tub across the street. We took advantage of the free shuttle to take us to the gondola or peak 9 in the am, and to town for dinner in the evening. Angela was very informative and attentive. Made my first experience using VRBO a very positive one!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, sightseeing, age 55+.

We stayed 6 nights just after New Year to ski in Breckenridge. The house is very warm & comfortable. It has a great layout with an open plan living, kitchen & dining area. The kitchen is well equipped & there is laundry facilities. One of the bedrooms is downstairs and the other two upstairs ,each have their own bathroom( with a ton of towels provided) The beds were really comfortable & it was very clean. The best part is the location - We skied back every day with our daughter down a nice easy green run and took the free shuttle bus to the Gondola each morning. We used the hot tub & the pool .We walked to Main street for shopping & dinner. It is also just a very short distance from the super market. You really don't need to get in your car. We took advantage of being able to ski other resorts with our passes. We purchased a ski 4 out of 6 days & that can be used at Breck, Vail, Keystone or Beaver Creek. Vail was awesome but Breckenridge was pretty cool too! We rented equipment from Blue River sports & they were great too. The Main street is very pretty and features some good shops & restaurants. We had dinner at Hearthstone & Relish & would recommend both. We also ate at downstairs at Erics a few times for cheap & cheerful food & beer. We have stayed at a lot of VRBO properties over the years & would highly recommend this one. For our needs it catered for everything.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, sightseeing, families with young children, age 55+.

We enjoyed our stay at Mountain Thunder. The townhomes are in a great location, close to the gondolas and close to town. The townhome was clean and just as the listing described it. It is close to the pool and hot tubs. We really loved this property. The condo was set up very nice for our family, expeciall the room with bunk beds, as I had several college boys with us. We also LOVED the free shuttle service. It was very convenient to town and at the end of a long ski day no matter where on the mountain we ended up.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, girls getaway, tourists without a car, families with young children.

We enjoyed staying at the Mountain Thunder property-easy to ski in at the end of the day and great for the shuttle service available to take you to the slopes, to town, back from town, etc. The house itself is clean and nice. It's a bit drafty in some parts but then it warms up after a while. The layout works great for families.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, tourists without a car.
