My husband, sister, and I spent 4 nights in this charming basement suite. We were pleased with the decor and cleanliness of the apartment. The beds, including the pullout sofa, were very comfortable. The small kitchenette met our needs for a light breakfast and several takeout dinners. The only negative in the kitchnette was the microwave lacked power enough to make popcorn. We appreciated the location in a very peaceful neighborhood. There was a short walk to the Skytrain station and the Safeway store. We took the Skytrain several times to get Downtown. It was a short 10 minute trip, and was much easier than driving. There was a lovely park several blocks from the suite. My sister and I enjoyed a walk around the lake. It would be a great area for a family. We did not get the pleasure of meeting the owners, but I communicated via email with Devorah, and she responded promptly to my questions. I believe that the suite and location were accurately described, and we had no surprises upon our arrival. There was a large binder on the table that was very helpful for dining or recreational options in the area. We would definitely like to return in the future, and would recommend to friends and family as well.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with young children, tourists without a car, romantic getaway.

We stayed at Devorah and Franco's Suite Dreams for 5 nights while visiting Vancouver and could not have been more pleased with the accommodations. Devorah and Franco truly did think of every little detail to make our stay enjoyable (right down to cloth farmers market bags available by the door) and it felt like our "home" for the week. We stayed with our two kids--ages 4 and 6--and they had ample space indoors and out to play with their toys and stretch their legs in between touring. So conveniently located too--easy to get to the SkyTrain (even with kids) and easy to drive to places further out. We loved it! The Trout Lake Farmers Market is not to be missed. I shall dream of those crepes at the food truck there for many moons...Recommended for: People with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, tourists without a car, sightseeing.

Location: Ideally situated close to Commercial/Broadway area. Shopping, banking, groceries all close by. Perfect for an extended stay as kitchen is well equipped, bed very comfortable, living room wonderfully decorated and just the perfect place to unwind. Very quiet neighbourhood, a horticulturalists delight. Walking the manicured pathways, a delightful daily experience. Trout lake and farmers market, just steps away. A great place for a vacation. We're steady customers having been back twice. Definitely a keeper!!!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

All the amenities at the suite functioned correctly. The kitchen was furninshed with all the things we needed. The neighborhood was charming, the SkyTrain and grocery shopping was within walking distance. With the SkyTrain, we were in downtown Vancouver within about 35-40 minutes after leaving the suite. We had a GREAT time in Vancouver and will visit again. Devorah is very nice and enjoyable to talk to.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with young children, tourists without a car, sightseeing.

I just wanted to add this quickly...I am trapsing through this site looking for a place to lay my head for a night, and I was slightly agrivated by the "screaming baby" review..., can I just say....lol, what a silly review, you miserable thing.....everyone seems to love and and be happy with this little place, why ruin it? it's obvious that the owners are accomadating, and you WERE happy with some of those things, so why not leave it at that??? you said your self, one was in hospital, SURELY that speaks for itself???? leave it at that??? be a little compasionate, wow! I think I'm going to book this! and for those reading, I promise and assure you, I am just a random person....this review just relaly peed me off, especially after reading the owners response..... internet does go down now and then????? any need to mention this in your review?????? look at the price for goodness sake..... If your baby was screaming for hours, it was either, hungry, tired, hot, cold or needing a change.... regards... "A mother and busines owner"Did you find this review helpful? I have recently stayed in Devorah and Franco's beautiful suite. It tastefully decorated, bright, and spacious and offers all the comforts of home. I have no idea what bee was in the previous person's bonnet - but I am 6" tall in my boots and had no issue with the height of the ceilings AND the only smell was that of fresh flowers on the table. I highly recommend this suite for any couple wanting a cozy get away in a nd quiet aquaint neighbourhood of Vancouver. It was in every way just as it was advertised.Recommended for: People with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

The Suite Deal is aptly named; the price is right and it's a very comfortable apartment in an excellent location. Commercial Drive, SkyTrain and a grocery store are nearby so a car is not needed to get around. The apartment has all the amenities and the sofabed is comfortable. The owners were very hospitable and knowledgeable about Vancouver and surroundings. We had a great stay here - thanks Devorah and Franco!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, tourists without a car, sightseeing.

Our experience here definitely made our vacation in Vancouver worse. In the owner's defense, one of them was in the hospital, so that made it difficult for them to tend to us, and we definitely felt it. This is obviously not others' experience as you can read their reviews. The negatives: - Upon arrival the key was not there and we couldn't get in touch with the owners. We were locked out of our place for several hours and had to hang out at starbucks with a screaming 1 year old until they finally called us back. Needless to say, not the perfect way to spend our first afternoon in Vancouver. - DO NOT STAY HERE IF YOU ARE OVER 6 FT TALL! There are several beams in the space that are about 6 ft. above the floor. I am 6'-4" and came away with back problems b/c of the permanent slight bend i had to do, not to mention the 3 times i forgot to bend and hammered my head. - There was a horrible sewer-like smell coming from an open vent in the kitchen. - The internet locked up on us several times. - This may be advertised, but it is a good 20 minute drive to downtown and even further to other cute places in Vancouver. The positives: - A lot of space. - Nice people. - Good price (if you get in and you aren't over 6 ft.). Overall: We managed with all these inconveniences, but were really disappointed in losing a half day of our vacation. If we had been compensated by the owner's for their mistake, we would have been much more forgiving. But a simple sorry didn't really cushion the blow. I would recommend shopping around if you are vacationing to the area (which is beautiful, by the way).Owner response: As owners who normally go out-of-our-way to assist our guests (as commented upon in other reviews), we were shocked to read this review, especially since there was no hint of any dissatisfaction mentioned during their 3 day stay. We clearly state in our booking communication - which includes directions to the suite - that check-in is at 3 pm unless otherwise arranged. If someone shows up early without notice, we cannot guarantee access to the suite nor a clean suite upon arrival. These guests showed up at noon, with no notice and when we were phoned, we immediately arranged to get them the key. We can appreciate that a screaming child makes every moment seem longer and are sorry for that. All of our guests have commented on the convenience of our location, both to downtown and other areas of the city. We take great pride in this and welcome guests with or without a car - as frequent and convenient transit is just steps away from the suite. With a car, most attractions are only 20 minutes away. The bad smell has been dealt with, and we appreciate when a guest informs us of something like this while they are here so we can address it immediately. Wireless access can be spotty, and we have called our provider to understand what can be improved with little luck. We do have a desktop computer in the living room of the suite that is hardwired for internet access, and can fill in the gap when the wireless is acting up. There are instructions for how to use the computer and it is available 24/7 for anyone without their own wireless device or simply needing internet access due to spotty wireless. There is one 6 foot beam in the area between the living room and hallway. We are very sorry for the inconvenience this may have caused someone over 6 feet tall. Though we have had guests of all heights, we had not realized that this would be a problem for anyone and will mention this in our ad. Thank you for letting us know so we can inform others.

Devorah and Franco were very friendly and helpful at all times. The apartment was very clean and comfortable in a safe, quiet area. My hosts were even more helpful and installed a computer which greatly helped with communications with my family and friends! The Skytrain to downtown Vancouver was 5 minutes walk from the house so it was very easy to visit the city. There was a bank and a Safeway store nearby too and a very attractive park with lake. I enjoyed my stay there very much and congratulate Devorah and Franco on their welcoming house in such an attractive neighbourhood.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, tourists without a car, sightseeing.
Owner response: Thank you Anne. We love our home, neighbourhood, and Vancouver and are so glad to be able to share with visitors like yourself.

The suite is exactly as described - wonderful location (close to Trout Lake Park, and to Commercial Drive and Skytrain connection). It was spotlessly clean, and had nice little 'extras' (Thanks, especially, for providing tea/coffee/breakfast fixings for first morning!). I will definitely book here again.Recommended for: Age 55+, tourists without a car, sightseeing.
Owner response: Debbie, thank you for the review. It was lovely to host you and we look forward to having you back when you return to Vancouver.

We had a great time staying at the 'garden suite.' If you have one child or two children who don't mind sharing a bed, they can sleep in the bedroom while you have the rest of the suite to yourself. Neighborhood is quiet and there is a park nearby (check out the Farmer's Market on Saturday mornings). It is a 10-15 minute walk to the Skytrain (can be rough on small children who have been on their feet all day), but there are closer bus stops once you get use to the system. I found the nearby "Commercial District" to be very cool, but it may not be for everybody. There is a Safeway right next to the Skytrain platform. Very bicycle friendly part of town, so bring your bikes if you can. Look forward to staying there again the next time we visit.Recommended for: Families with young children, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Check-in was extremely easy and the owners were very welcoming. We felt encouraged to make ourselves at home and use the backyard/bbq whenever we wanted. Devorah and Franco were very knowledgeable about the area and gave us loads of useful tips---especially useful for finding lots of kid-friendly places. The suite was clean and comfortable with plenty of space and pretty much everything we'd need. Good location on quiet residential street--but still only 10 min walk to skytrain (which runs every few minutes and takes 5 mins to city centre). Great for a family who wants to take advantage of nice backyard and quietness, but who doesn't want to be too far from the action either! Fab stay...would recommend. Much much much better than a hotel!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

If you don't want to be with all the other tourists downtown and want to stay in a neighbourhood and have a garden to use, this is for you. Close to Commercial Drive and the Skytrain station, it is easy to get around. The owners live above the property and are helpful and friendly. There is wifi.Did you find this review helpful? A charming walk down the side garden to enter our suite. The sweet smell of flowers was very relaxing. Our hosts were vey friendly and helpful with directions, with suggestions for a place to dine and a neighbourhood greasey spoon for breakfast. Loacation was fantastic, as it was close to everything we needed and was easy to transport to and from. The apartement was nicely decorated with very comfortable beds and during our stay it was very hot out however the apt. stayed cool and was great for sleeping. All around, our visit was enjoyable and we will definitely return again.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Just spent a weekend, and couldn't believe how comfortable the queen pullout bed is! No funny metal bits, just deep comfort. Also, fabuous showerhead in creatively and tastefully decorated showerstall and bathroom. Loved the combo of fresh renovation and retro decor. Very quick access to the Skytrain which goes right downtown as well as to the airport. Hosts super friendly and accommodating.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, tourists without a car, sightseeing.

My recent 4 day stay was lovely & peaceful. I had an opportunity to sleep in both the bed & pull-out sofa and both are extremely comfortable. The sofa bed was one I had never seen before, it truly turned into a real bed. For me comfort is key. The shower stall is a work of art (literally)...you get a true Vancouver vibe. My trip downtown took 20 minutes including the walk to the Skytrain. The walk itself is lovely, going by all the beautiful gardens. The owners are genuine, caring people who want to ensure your stay is a wonderful experience. I would highly recommend it to anyone.Recommended for: People with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, tourists without a car, sightseeing.

My husband and I stayed with Devorah & Franco on a recent trip to Vancouver. Our hosts made us feel very welcome, are very knowledgeable about the city and region, and were quite helpful in assisting us plan our day. The suite is charming and very comfortable with an artistic flair. We slept on the sofabed (as it is a queen and the bed is a double) and found it to be extremely comfortable. The neighbourhood is also charming, quiet, and well located. Nothing seemed far away as we were able to reach most destinations by car within 20 minutes or less! We will not hesitate to stay here again on future visits.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1
