  Hi Jane & Jeff, I cannot tell you how much we enjoy staying at your place, the peace and quiet, and isolated beach is something we will never forget. Seeing dolphins in the mornings and again in the evenings, 20 to 30 ft away, made our days. I wish I could describe what a wonderful time we had at your place, but I'm afraid it will do no justice. We did a lot of nothing, other than reading, and fishing. There is no stress in the Island, and our only decision to make, was when to start the grill, and what do we eat today. Thank you for letting us be a part of this beauty.

  We visited Sandcastle for the 3rd year in a row and left our deposit for next year. We can't emphasize enough the wonderful location of this home and its fabulous and functional deck. We enjoy everything about being here and go home refreshed and ready to tackle real life again. You absolutely can't go wrong renting this house.

  I absolutely recommend this vacation rental. The setting was just perfect - oceanfront, beautiful beach, breathtaking views, and oh-so-peaceful. The dolphins were seen each evening churning just a few yards from the home. The beach was conducive to walking a long way and it was lightly populated. We are not bird watchers but the wide array of colorful birds we encountered compelled us to buy a bird identification book. The golf cart was ideal (comes with cottage) and we encountered several turtles while cruising the island. The home was beautiful with wonderful amentities and the deck overlooking the ocean provided nightly relaxation. We already reserved the cottage for next year.

  We just got home today after staying for a week. It was so hard to leave! We visited Sandcastle last July for 3 days for a birthday. We had such a good time we decided to try it for a week. Sometimes you don't want to do something like this again worrying that it might not measure up to the first time. Once again everything was fabulous! Jane and Jeff were terrific as usual. The house now has an outdoor shower, additional chairs, a hammock and a picnic table. Sunsets were amazing and the dolphins put on a show for us every afternoon. We watched the crabs, the osprey, the pelicans and the ibis. Tarpon were jumping. We enjoyed wonderful meals (most of which were made on the grill) and the cocktail hour on the deck, which offers a view to die for. My sister and brother-in-law joined us for a few days and couldn't believe how great everything was, particularly the location. She and I shelled like we did when we were kids. We played Scrabble, read and watched movies in the evening. The privacy factor is huge for us as we are just worn out from work and this place offers it in spades. We destressed and got energized, all courtesy of the Sandcastle. We cannot recommend it enough. We will be back!

  We are passing a wonderful week in the Sandcastle on North Captiva Island. We came a long way from Switzerland. The Sandcastle made our dream come true from having a week far away just we and our twin girls... We love watching the dolphins, the pelicans, to collect shells and, and, and.... Time goes by too fast.... We hope to come back on day! Thank you for opening up your wonderful house!

  We had randomly heard about the "sand castle" through a friend of the family and recently spent a weekend there in November. It was one of the best vacations we have in recollection. The house itself was beautiful with brand new appliances, huge tvs, and a very warm, chic feel to it. We were right on the beach which was completely deserted, and only had to look our front door to see a plethora of wildlife including osprey, crabs, porpoises, tarpon, and stingrays!! Also, the island itself is just delightful, with golf carts as the only means of transportation, and everyone being so friendly and welcoming, it's no wonder that people come to the island and never want to leave. The sand castle was a wonderful little get away complete with everything except the crowds. We highly recommend it, and cannot wait to come back!!!!

  Our visit was for a birthday. We were looking for peace and quiet and we got it! Both the house and location were great. The house is clean and well-equipped and set up for doing your own cooking, which we did. The deck is fabulous (we had some great lunches out there) and the beach RIGHT outside your door. We'd rent this house again in a heartbeat. Jane and Jeff, the managers, were terrific. We explored with our golf cart (included in the rental) and saw tortoises and osprey. We saw a tortoise and crabs on the beach and a group of dolphins 20 feet away. The beach is very private and the few walkers we saw were very friendly. We picked up some pretty shells and made a terrarium as a memory when we got home. We fished off the beach. We would recommend that you bring all of the food and drink you desire as the little store on the island is very limited in what they offer. We did have dinner at Barnacle Phil's one night and got ice cream from the shop upstairs. This location is only 2 hours from where we live but we felt like we were a million miles away. We cannot say enough about what a lovely time we had. A couple with 2 young daughters were taking a picture of the house and said they would like to rent it in the future. We took them inside to see it so that they would!

  Our first trip to Captiva. Wow... what a beautiful property! Meticulously kept, with all the amenities of home, and amazing views. We enjoyed exploring the island and all of it's creatures, meeting new friends, and Barnacle Phil's. Thanks' for everything!

  We decided to get married on North Captiva Island and when we were looking for a house The Sandcastle caught our eyes. It was the perfect place for our wedding because we could get married right on the beach in front of the house and the rooms were decorated so cute on the website. The pictures on the website don't do justice to the true beauty of this house. The Sandcastle was decorated so cute, very clean and just above and beyond our expectations. This is a house that will always be special in our hearts because it was the place where we started our lives together. We plan on going back to The Sandcastle to celebrate our anniversaries in the future. My husband LOVED the fishing in front of the house. I would highly recommend this home to anyone because it is a little piece of paradise on North Captiva Island.
