Estes Park house description
Welcome to our home. We have the most unique location in to the Rockies. Our home sits on 3 acres of seclusion. We have a paved driveway leading you up through the ponderosa pine trees to the house. The house sits on one of the most level sights in the area. When you wake in the morning you will be able to see the sun coming up on Lake Estes, the snow covered mountain peaks, and the wildlife that roam the area. You'll be able to hear the birds because of the private setting of our home. You'll smell the fresh crisp pine scent only a mountain setting can offer.
From our large windows you can see Longs Peak, The Stanley Hotel, Lake Estes, The Continental Divide, Lumpy Ridge, The Stanley Park Fairgrounds, Twin Sisters, and much more.
We have a very large deck located on the west side of the house. An extra large patio that joins in on the south and west side of the home. A new 5 burner gas grill sets on the patio for your enjoyment. Plenty of patio furniture for your outside dining. If you like to listen to the rain and/or read a book or just smell the fresh mountain air during a rainy time we have an area of the patio that is covered with excess through the sliding door just off the dining room.
The Lake Estes Walking Trail is less than 200 yards from our back door. In less than 5 minutes, you can be in the heart of Estes Park.
If someone in your party needs handicap accessible, we can help. Our home is handicapped accessible on the main level.
A third full bathroom has been added for our summer guests. We also remodeled a large downstairs bedroom, adding a queen bed and a bunk bed and much more room. Also, a triple door was added to that room (#5 bedroom) to a walk out patio.
COLEEN AND I ONLY RENT OUR ESTES HOME IN THE SUMMER MONTHS.

I left for one of my favorite destinations, Estes Park, CO. Stepping out of the car in front of the Rocky Mountain Overlook, one is greeted by the scent of pine trees carried on mountain breezes and the sound of birds in those same trees. The Rocky Mountain Overlook takes full advantage of Estes Park’s magical location. Situated on a hillside above Lake Estes, it commands views of the lake and the entire Estes Valley, as well as Longs Peak and Mt. Meeker. The house is set on a wooded lot littered with boulders – a natural playground for any cubs and the ones that came with me took quickly to exploring the 3 acre lot.
The real surprise was when we entered the house. It was a warm day, but the house was refreshingly cool when we walked in, and it stayed a comfortable temperature throughout our visit, even when the temperatures dropped at night, the house stayed warm. The Rocky Mountain Overlook is made for families, with the downstairs bedroom providing cub-friendly comforts like bunkbeds and a Wii console, while upstairs features a big kitchen and dining room, a comfortable living room, and even touches for the seniors like handicap accessible assists in the bathrooms and bathtubs. Did I mention the views? Even if you’re inside preparing dinner, you can enjoy the view of the valley through the open wall through to the dining room. Whoever designed this house truly appreciated the beauty of the site.
Should you want to leave the house, it’s convenient to the rest of the area. The house itself is easily accessible from the main road into town, and from the house it’s a short walk down the hill to Lake Estes and the walking / biking trail that circles the lake, and it’s a short drive to downtown Estes Park. The cubs enjoyed trips to the Fun City amusement park, the YMCA of the Rockies, and Rocky Mountain National Park.
I had a delightful stay at the Rocky Mountain Overlook. The owners were very helpful and easy to work with and clearly want to make their house a great vacation home for their guests. I am even more enamored of Estes Park and dreaming of my next visit.

About the owner: We love the walking trail, the elk close by, no close neighbors, and just being in the mountains. If you like having four seasons, but not to extreme, this is the perfect place for you and your family. We'll do everything we can to make your vacation 'one of the best'!!
Why the Owner Chose Estes Park: We've always loved the mountains, nature and the area and this home gives all that along with the feeling that you're very alone.
The Unique Benefits at this House: Our guests will have the option of just enjoying the mountain views from our home and/or travel into Estes Park and/or on to Trail Ridge Road and the Rocky Mountains without a long drive. However, the main reason to stay at our home is the solitude. You'll really feel and see the nature.
We have just added a second refrigerator, a freezer, and a second microwave in the downstairs so our guests may bring extra food, beverage, or whatever.
We have added a third full bathroom downstairs for our guests.
Our past guests have really enjoyed the seclusion of our home. It really is hard to believe that you're that close to Estes Park.
We keep asking our guests what we need to change to make it better. We want our guests to come back, year after year. Our guests become our friends.
