  I wish we could have spent more time in this quaint little cottage. It was fresh and clean - plenty of amenities. We were surrounded by loving touches and generous spirits - these guys have a gift for hospitality.

  This was our third year staying at the Burnham Beach Cottages while we visited family in California and as always our time there was love. We are already eagerly planning next year's visit. Features: The cottage itself is nicely decorated, CLEAN, and has everything you need to set up a home base. The outdoor areas, gardens, fire pits, and swing are beautifully landscaped, relaxing and sheltered and the most disruption you will experience is the whir of hummingbird wings. Truly. The green ones are always in residence. The location of the property is perfect, on a quit street but walking distance to little places to eat, the ocean, a weekly farmer's market, and Pharmacy and grocery stores. Michael and Wendy (the hosts/owners) are fantastic! Super nice and always available if you need anything. You will love this place!

  Burnham Beach Cottage was an absolutely wonderful experience. The cottage is beautifully decorated, the bed and the futon were both extremely comfortable! The kitchen has all the amenities needed and the bath is charming! Being able to open the windows and enjoy the California air and sunshine and see all the plants was the perfect way to truely experience California life. Wendy and Mike were the perfect hosts (especially when a bandaid was needed) and it was great having coffee on the front porch and getting to know them and their wonderful pets!! I would recommend Burnham Beach cottage to anyone looking to stay in the beach area. The cottage was within walking distance to the beach and restaurants and convenient to everything!! I am looking forward to going back in the near future!!

  We stayed in Cottage 1 & Cottage 2 for 6 nights. My daughter, 4 grandchildren and I were in the cottages all week & another Grandma for 3 days. We picked this area because it was so close to the ocean/beach. We could walk to the beach & we wanted to have a kitcken available. I fell in love with these cottages when I looked at them on line. They do look like the photos. Just keep in mind, they are cottages. When you meet Wendy & Mike you will love their warm spirit & all the care they put into these inviting, beachy, historical cottages. The kitchens are adorable with pots, pans, dishes, appliances, refrig & stove & everything that you need to make a gourmet meal if you choose. We were able to make several of our meals in the kitchens & eat outside at the picnic table & lawnchairs between the two cabins. They provide extra beach towels. There are alot of pillows/blankets in closets, nice towels & soaps in the bathroom. There is gorgeous greenery around the cottages. Wendy & Mike keep everything very beautiful. The cottages feel very safe as they are off the street & behind their house. Wendy & Mike provide a book with the local restaurants/directions & are readily available to answer any questions you may have. We were able to get to three of the recommended restaurants. The Redondo Beach Pier is absolutely breathtaking at sunset! What a wonderful place to rest & relax. No matter what the occasion, Wendy & Mike will make you feel right at home. Can't wait to get there again.

  My husband and I stayed one week at the Burnham cottage. Everyday was wonderful. It is 1 block from the beach and pier. We walked each day. We rode bikes to Manhattan Beach. My husband swam and used their boogie board. We had friends over one night and had a fire in the fire pit provided. The cottage itself was clean, charming, and cozy. The kitchen has all the amenities for making any meal. We shopped at the local fish market and barbecued halibut that night. The queen size bed was very comfortable. The photos on the listing were very accurate. The cottage has a nice front porch for morning coffee and watching the humming birds on the flowers. Wendy and Michael are wonderful hosts. They are helpful and interesting people. The property is clean and well maintained and they seem to enjoy working on it. We would recommend this listing to our family and friends. The pier has great restaurants, shops, and fish markets . Also within walking distance are coffee shops and other restaurants. We are looking forward to another time spent at "the cottage."

  My husband and I can't say enough good things about our 2 week stay at Burnham Beach Cottages! Wendy and Michael are the best of hosts making sure that we had everything we needed and that we were comfortable. They live in the house in front of the cottage so they were readily available for any concerns we might have had. The cottage was perfect for the two of us - so comfortable with attention to little details throughout such as little vases with flowers in every room, plaques with inspirational saying...The interior of the cottage is in the style of the time it was built with a clawfoot bathtub, tiled kitchen, doorknobs and hinges of that era. Although of that style, the place was clean, fresh, and well kept. There is a cute little porch on the front where we enjoyed breakfast and lunch several days and there is a welcoming outdoor social area with cushy seats shaded by big umbrellas that we were able to take advantage of. We liked being so close to the beach for daily morning beach walks. Although only a block west of the Pacific Coast Highway, Burnham Beach Cottages is a quiet oasis away from the noise and business. Another plus for us...there is a Whole Foods and Trader Joe's nearby! We definitely would stay here again without hesitation!

  As a local Redondo Beach resident I wanted a very special place to stay the night before our Redondo Beach wedding. The Burnham Cottage was a million times more perfect than I'd even imagined. I reserved it for two nights, Friday and Saturday. The cottage comfortably sleeps 2 people, with a super comfy queen bed in the bedroom and a lovely futon in the main room. I had one of my bridesmaids sleep with me the night before the wedding. When we checked in Friday afternoon - the cottage was spotless, welcoming, and SO CUTE! Mike helped us bring in all our bags and had a cold bottle of champagne ready for us to start celebrating! It is decorated in the most adorable yet chic beach decor. The paint colors were absolutely stunning in all the pictures of the bridal party getting ready on the day of our wedding. There was ample room in the cottage for all 8 of us, plus a hair and makeup team, wedding coordinator, flower girl, all our dresses and bags and the photographer to get set up. It was truly a magical, magical place to prepare to walk down the aisle. We were able to have breakfast and lunch prepared in the kitchen so we didn't have to leave the cottage all day. There is a stunning and relaxing courtyard with seating and tables to hang out at as well, where we also took a bunch of amazing wedding photos of all the girls, mother of the bride, bridal shots, etc. Wendy and Mike treated us like royalty and made us feel so welcome at and ease - even though I'm sure we were pretty loud and crazy they never let us know. If you're not from the area, you should know that the neighborhood is very safe, in a great location very close to the beach and pier. I felt like I was dreaming on the day of my wedding, getting dressed and taking pictures and spending some amazing hours in such a beautiful and perfect cottage. This review may seem over-the-top, but that is honestly how I felt the entire day. If you're a bride looking for a perfect cottage to get a great night's rest before your wedding and need a place for the bridal party to hang out at - this is the best place in town. Thank you SO much Wendy and Mike!

  What a great place to relax!!!!! My husband and I spent two nights at this quaint lil piece of heaven and loved it. Was nice to be away from all the traffic and hustle & bustle of life in Colorado. Our marriage will surely benefit from our stay. Thank you, Mike and Wendy.

  Just returned from a fabulous trip to the Mainland to visit family. This was our first experience with VRBO, and it turned out to be one of the highlights of our trip! Our cottage was a delightful step back in time with loads of character, charm and ambiance! The accommodations and setting were much more than expected...photos and description were exactly as portrayed. The cottage was quiet and relaxing with a great location. Grounds were perfect with two outdoor sitting areas with firepits, hammock and plenty of free parking! We would highly recommend the Burnham Cottage's. Wendy, Michael, Freedom and Julius made us feel welcome and completely comfortable throughout our five day stay. They were always available to answer questions and guide us with our travels throughout Los Angeles. We have new life long friends and look forward to our next visit to the Burnham Cottage's.   I really had great fun today, kids had lots of fun. Owner was really helpful and really supporting. She gave us lot of good suggestions for our anniversary. And she lend us her bikes, beach umbrella and very helpful. Our family had lots of fun and we would like to come again.
