Port Angeles house description

Creating lasting memories by providing high quality and comfort at reasonable prices!

This gorgeous 1926 Dutch Colonial was built high-style in one of Port Angeles most upscale neighborhoods. It's great location allows you to enjoy water and mountain views from most rooms in the home. It is only minutes from the ferry and a short walk into town.

As you step into the home, a large contemporary living area opens to your right. Through the living room you will find the library, where you can relax by the fireplace. Beyond that, is the bright, beautiful sunroom.

To your left as you enter, leaded glass french doors open into the formal dining room. Beyond the dining room through a second glass door a warm and inviting breakfast room lies off of the fully equipped kitchen.

The main stairs are located off of the living room and lead up to the first three bedrooms with very comfortable beds with fine linens. The largest bedroom has a king bed and sitting area with a private deck sporting a nice water view.

Between the kitchen and dining room are stairs down to the den and 4th bedroom with two twin beds. This bedroom too has a view of the straits. The 2nd bath and laundry room are located on this level also.

Every one of our three-generation party of seven loved this house. It is tastefully furnished and full of light. There were plenty of thick, fluffy towels, and the bed linens were nice. The kitchen is well-appointed, including a full spice rack. (Yes, the dishwasher is a little difficult to load and unload, but this is a minor issue, given that this is a convenience added in a manner that sacrifices little cabinet space.) The dining room comfortably accommodated the seven of us, and there is also an adjacent breakfast room. The location of the fourth bedroom in the basement might make it less than desirable for a four-couple group, but it was perfect for our teenage grandson. The location is great--close to the waterfront and a few minutes from the gateway to Hurricane Ridge. Port Angeles is well situated for day trips to Olympic Peninsula highlights, such as the rainforest and Lake Crescent. Bring your passport, because you might want to take the ferry to Victoria on Vancouver Island. (But check the ferry schedule; the ferries are not frequent.) The town provides a number of restaurant choices. The property manager will email recommendations a few days before your arrival. We liked Kokopelli. We were sorry not to have time to return to C'est Si Bon, which my husband and I had enjoyed on a previous visit to the Olympic Peninsula. We highly recommend this home to groups of 6 to 8. We definitely plan to return!

We had a party of 6, just completing a 22 day cruise from FLL. We missed our Port Angeles port call because of weather and ended up cutting our stay down to 2 days at this location. It was worth it. The place was immaculate, homey, and well decorated. It was in a perfect location and we were able to crame in a lot of siteseeing. I highly recommend this location to any one going to Port Angeles. The listing accurately reflects the location.

Cedar Crest is decorated in a fresh and contemporary way (no floral wallpaper in this house). The house is clean and inviting, with a lovely fireplace. The beds are extremely comfortable and there are plenty of towels/linens. The laundry, in the basement, is large and easy to utilize. There is plenty of storage throughout the house. The kitchen has great views and I agree with other reviews about needing more cooking equipment (if you have a large party staying) and the dishwasher is very awkward to use. I have stayed in the house twice and would recommend it. There is ample heating for the winter times. The floorboards are very noisey (transfers through the 3 levels), but if your party has the same sleeping patterns, this should not cause an issue. There is a large BBQ with outdoor seating in the back yard. Free WiFi - very helpful. The main part of town is about 1mile away. The only error in the description is that the 4th bedroom in the basement has views - there is a window at street level, but the view is of the garden and street. Overall, I think this is a great accommodation option for staying Port Angeles. (For smaller parties, look at Vine St - same Property manager). Nearby attractions: Chestnut Cottage for Breakfast, Bella and Wildfire for Dinner and the Next Door Bar for homemade burgers and/or a night out. Wine on the Waterfront for an afternoon vino/cheese board. Local fast food haunt - Frugals. Harbinger Vineyard for tasting. Lake Cresent (25min drive) - hiking, then dinner at the lodge. Hurricane Ridge for incredible views/hiking. For a general walk - along the waterfront in front of the Red Lion Hotel. Coffee - Itty Bitty Buzz on 1st street. Gym - Anytime Fitness. Swimming pool - YMCA. Supermarket -Safeway (open 24hrs).

The Cedar Crest is a spacious house, and the inside is very nice and attractive. Nicely decorated and plenty of space. All this has been said by others and is absolutely true. But what hasn't been said is that there is no toilet on the ground floor, you need to go upstairs or into the basement. We found this inconvenient.Bathroom a bit small.especially the washbasin, but plenty of towels, soap, etc. And clean. Inside the house was very clean. The kitchen is dated and has very limited cooking utensils. It is virtually impossible to open the dishwasher door completely, so putting in the dishes requires skill and is quite some work. The beds are indeed very comfortable and have nice silk sheets, but then the drapes are the cheap Ikea curtains that don't keep out any light. No screens to keep out the mosquitos and downstairs you can't open any window, and it became quite warm! The windows are badly insulated( part of old house), but the biggest disappointment was the traffic noise. It is not quiet at all. The front of the house is fine( nice other houses), but the back of the house has the constant drone of traffic going by.The 101 is 1 street down. At night it did become quiet, but it started again very early, until late at night. It is something we had not expected. Yes, the location is convenient to catch the ferry to Victoria, but PA itself is not a very attractive place to stay. However, a real bonus is Terry. He is great to deal with, always responds immediately and it is a very nice touch that there are flowers in every room to welcome you.Thank you for that. Overall, we stayed at several homes, Cedar Crest was the most expensive one( possibly not if you use all bedrooms), and perhaps therefor our expectations were too high, but we still enjoyed our stay.

This is a wonderful house with a nice firm comfy beds and very clean restrooms/kitchen. Neighbors are very quiet and safe. There is large beautiful playground nearby if you have kids. My little four year of girl loves her rental house. Thanks to my absent-mindedness, I left my necklace and a Olympic Park DVD at the rental house, and Terry registered mailed it for me next following day. What a great service! What more can you ask. Definitely coming back next time

This is a lovely house with views of the water and the mountains. We planned our day by looking out the windows. We could see if Hurricane Ridge was clear or if the ferry was coming in. It is comfortable and nicely decorated. It is in the eastern part of town on a quiet street within walking distance of the town and ferry. The house works well for families except there are only two bathrooms, one of which is tiny and located in the basement. The beds are great. The upstairs floors creaked. It was clean and nicely stocked with basic supplies. Terry was very helpful setting the whole thing up. We would defintely plan to stay there again on our next trip to Port Angeles.

Our family had a wonderful stay in this home. We fit 8 adults and 3 children comfortably, with everyone having ample space and plenty of seating (there are multiple sitting rooms, an informal AND a formal dining room). The furnishings were in great condition, modern and well styled. The home was extremely clean when we arrived, and the high quality bed linens and towels were very much appreciated. Many of the rooms had fresh flowers, which was a nice touch. There seemed to be a lot of thought put into meeting our needs -- plenty of towels, Kleenex on the nightstands, extra warm blankets in each room, etc. The house itself has obviously maintained its original design, but the owners have updated all the furnishings so it feels very contemporary. The house is located in town, just a few minutes from everything, but is on a side street that gets little to no traffic (so very quiet!). There is a beautiful view of the water from several of the rooms, and a view of the mountains from others. Overall, this is an ideal home to serve as a base for exploring Port Angeles and the surrounding areas. We cannot say enough good things about it.

Centrally located in Pt. Angeles, walking distance to restaurants and the ferry terminal. Terry (owner/manager) was very responsive and helpful for our stay. Overall, a good value; in town; and perfect for a family of 4. Only downside is the unit is downstairs so noise from upstairs can sometimes be heard.

My family stayed at the house for four nights and it was fabulous. Port Angeles is an excellent base to explore the Olympic National Park and we were not let down. Upon arrival the house was very well maintained, kept clean, and very well decorated. The kitchen was very nice and everything a chef would need was available to us, including a well-maintained gas grill in the back yard. The living areas of the home are very comfortable and we felt right at home when we were not out exploring. In particular, the beds were incredibly comfortable and the bedrooms were nicely decorated. We haven't slept so well in ages! Regarding the property photos, what you see is what you get! The homeowner was very responsive and we received the rental agreement promptly. We highly recommend this house to others who are thinking of visiting the Olympic Peninsula.
