The Point at Sandpoint is where dreams become memories. It's your own private, luxury retreat. From the moment you enter the massive double wood doors, you'll feel a part of something magical. Picture two private, wooded acres that open up to a custom home on over 360' of flat, private Pend Oreille waterfront. Two sandy beaches and incredible panoramic lake and mountain views await you! The swimming is clear, shallow and warm in summer. All this and you're just moments from the charming shops and restaurants of Sandpoint.
Explore the lake by kayak, canoe, sail or motor boat. 'Hit it' waterskiing, wakeboarding or inner tube right outside your front door. Fish for small mouth bass or rainbow trout off the dock. Build sand castles on the beach or play volleyball or croquet on the large, grassy lawn. Soak your cares away and enjoy the views from the huge hot tub. Schweitzer Mountain is just 12 miles away for all winter snow sports or for hiking, sightseeing, mountain biking and berry picking in summer.
A large variety of wildlife can be seen everyday. Ospreys, Bald Eagles, river otters, deer, moose, geese, swans, coots, loons and an abundance of fish all live here. Fall and spring bird migrations are fantastic!
The home itself was custom designed to reflect the natural beauty of the area and the special relationship the Kootenai and Pend Oreille Native Americans had with this region. Cedar, pine, hickory, granite, slate and large stones are used throughout. Designed by well known architect, Jon Saylor, The Point has separate 'pavilions'.
The Great Room Pavilion is spacious, yet intimate. Cedar, wood-beam ceilings soar to 24 feet, but the plush, comfortable furnishings keep conversations easy and familiar. Floor to ceiling windows give you the feeling of being surrounded by water. Listen to the lake lap outside as you recline in the sitting area and watch eagles and ospreys hunt for a fresh fish dinner.
When it’s cold outside, radiant heated floors silently warm you from the toes up. A massive river stone fireplace anchors the Great room. Remarkable for its artistic 'dry stack' masonry, it burns real wood with ease thanks to an instant gas starter.
The heart of any home is its kitchen. The Point is no exception. An immense gourmet workspace allows a commanding view of the Great Room, Lake and guests. Multiple chefs can work freely on the expansive granite counter tops while friends and family gather around the 'U' shaped alder bar to watch the culinary action. Stainless appliances, warming drawer, a five burner gas range and other amenities make the cooking fun and easy.
A true hub, from the kitchen you're just steps to the lawn, deck, breezeway, and media room. An informal dining area right next to the kitchen makes serving easy. Or in the summer dine al fresco on the covered deck. The natural gas barbeque right outside the door is perfect for grilling.
The Breezeway Pavilion features an entire glass wall that lifts up and hides above a cedar ceiling -- all at the touch of button. Watch a thunderstorm roll in or walk out to the stone, amphitheatre steps that lead down to a flat, grassy lawn -- perfect for volleyball, croquet or horseshoes (all provided).
The Family Room Pavilion is that perfect escape room for kids and adults. It's stocked with games, kid toys, 52' HD TV, movie and stereo system. A built in window seat holds two additional twin beds for hanging out or sleeping.
The Sleeping Pavilions form a separate wing of the house. Accessed by a long, generous art corridor with deep, plush carpeting and capped off with a solid wood door, the bedrooms offer a serene escape from the rest of the house. This separation allows early and late risers to enjoy themselves without waking the household. ALL bedrooms have incredible lake views!
The Master Bedroom Pavilion offers a beautiful King size bed, luxury linens, private patio, and an adjoining 'serenity' room filled with books and a desk. The Master Bath is luxurious with a Jacuzzi tub for 2, granite countertops, slate shower with 2 showerheads and a separate dressing area. A large hot tub is accessible on the stone patio with amazing views of the lake.
Two additional bedrooms have Queen pillowtops and luxury linens. The fourth bedroom is a bunk room with 4 twin beds on 2 separate bunks. The family room pavillion has 2 pillowtop twins built into the windowseat and can be closed off for a 5th bedroom.
The Point at Sandpoint offers different experiences in each season. The owners know the area well and can help you plan that perfect vacation. We also offer concierge service to bring in a hot dinner, stock the refrigerator or help with your vacation needs. Whether your coming for a family vacation, romantic weekend, girls getaway or retreat, The Point at Sandpoint is where dreams become cherished memories.
Note: It’s difficult to capture the custom luxury, beauty, or seasons, in just a few photos. Please see the photo slide show link on YouTube noted below. Thank you.

We spent President's Day Weekend at this stunning home on Ponder Point with 5 couples, and couldn't have asked of a more fun or relaxing weekend. The owner Kellee was extremely flexible and helpful when coordinating our visit, which is nice when traveling from out of town. We enjoyed skiing at Schweitzer, just a short drive away, but the best part was enjoying the company of friends in such a wonderful home on the lake. The house itself is unbelievable, with breathtaking views of Lake Ponderay. The house is very comfortable even for large groups. All of the rooms have gorgeous lake views. You won't believe the kitchen and living area. Just amazing. Loved the yard with plenty of space for the dogs to explore (safely) while we relaxed in the (clean and well kept - very important!) hot tub. My favorite room in the house might be the master bathroom. You won't want to leave this dream home. 3 nights was not enough. We can't wait to come back to enjoy the house in the summer!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Our stay at The Point was fantastic! It was a time to bring two families together (my family and my son's fiance and her family) to get to know each other. Much time was spent in the beautiful kitchen preparing meals together. Great family discussions were enjoyed while sitting around the fireplace in the great room. Every day we looked forward to watching eagles, swans, geese, and other waterfowl from the large great room windows. Every part of our stay at The Point was even better than we anticipated. It was the perfect setting for making many great family memories. Look forward to staying there again in the future!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

Our family stayed at the The Point for 10 days in August and had a great time at this property. We love being right on the water and this property delivered on that in a big way. Our kids learned to wakeboard and waterski this year and enjoyed hours of exploring. Bocce ball, tag football, badminton, hide and seek, you name it, the kids played it. Sandpoint is a great little town and we were happy to visit for the first time. If we had to choose a favorite part of the house, it would be the great room overlooking the lake. All-in-all this is a 5 star location.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with young children.

Our second year at The Point! Words just cannot describe this location and home. I'm not kidding when I say that our family's BEST memories were made at Lake Pend O'Reille. We have traveled to many wonderful destinations, but our hearts just keep coming back to the lake. Thank you Kellee for your willingness to share something obviously so special to your family. We can't wait to come back next year! Until then we will be counting down the days.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

Wow, this place is beyond amazing! We had such a wonderful weekend at the point. The house is breathtaking. Not to mention there is a view from every room. We spent many hours in the gourmet kitchen. They have everything you can imagine. We loved to gather around the fireplace, play jenga, visit, or just admire the amazing view in front of us. The hotub was another nice relaxing place we would spend sometime. We didn't have the greatest weather but it didn't matter. We had great friends, family and the amzing house. Kellee was wonderful to work with. They even had a portable bed and highchair for my son so less baby stuff to pack. We look forward to coming back to the point soon. Hopefully with better weather so we can spend sometime in the breezeway.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, people with disabilities, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

We have stayed at the Point on several occasions and each time it gets harder and harder to leave. The house is so beautifully appointed and designed. Everything is meticulously maintained. The great room and the breezeway are perfect spots for relaxing and watching the ever-changing lake in front of you. The property is very private and quiet. The owners go out of their way to make sure your stay is the best possible. They provide lots of suggestions for things to do in the area. The town of Sandpoint is amazing! So many great restaurants, shops, and really nice people. Truly a great find!Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.
Owner response: This lovely couple has stayed at The Point on 3 separate occassions, experiencing Fall colors changing and winter skiing at Schweitzer. They are so thoughtful and take such great care of The Point, that they epitomize the reasons why we make it available: to share the beauty of the home & Sandpoint area; to make dreams become memories. We look forward to their next stay.

We fell in love with this property. Everything from the sheets to the view was perfection. Immaculate property with every detail thought out to make your stay as comfortable as possible. The layout of the house was wonderful with older children. We loved the beautiful front room with a real fireplace and eagle watching. Oh my goodness...I have NO idea how to even begin to convey our stay at The Point! Everything you would or could ever desire is there. The home is immaculate and gorgeously appointed. The kitchen is gourmet, there isn't one gadget lacking. The deck with BBQ is brilliant, nice and shady in the hot afternoon sun. The amphitheater steps were the perfect setup for our talent show. Beds are comfy, every room has a view. You can even work from the home is you absolutely have to (but I have NO idea why one would ever want to). The big entertainment room has a huge T.V. and the sound system is awesome. We spent hours on our own little beach and the older boys enjoyed fishing right of the private dock. My favorite spot? The entryway with the big open doors to the outside. My hubby's? The hot tub! Scenery is amazing, we saw Bald Eagles every morning we were there. You are right across the bay from Bottle Bay, the little restaurant there is yummy and it's a great place to gas up your water toys. Our stay was over the 4th of July and we fully expected the lake to be busy, but we felt we had it all to ourselves. Speaking of the 4th, The Point is the perfect place to watch the fireworks over at City Beach. Our children truly had the time of their lives, some wonderful memories were created for them at The Point. The owners...I just can't tell you how wonderful and concerned they were that we had a great time. The fact that they are willing to share their dream home says so much about their character. There was even fresh pie waiting for us! It was truly a blessing that we were able to share in something so special. I guarantee without reservation that you will fall in love with The Point. It was a dream come true for our family and we can't wait to come back!Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

Owner info
Year Purchased: 2006
About the owner: We've always loved the water and dreamed one day of having a lake home to share with family and friends. Our 3 kids have learned to water ski, swim, fish, inner tube, snow ski, and hike here. Originally, we thought we'd just spend summers here, but we love it just as much in the winter for the quiet, snow-filled, peacefulness of it. We have the most amazing memories already and feel very blessed to be able to share 'The Point' with you ~ where dreams become memories.
Why the Owner Chose Sandpoint:
Sandpoint, Idaho and Lake Pend Oreille are truly 'undiscovered gems'. The lake itself is 43 miles long, yet we're just 3 miles from downtown Sandpoint! We love the variety of wildlife: eagles, ospreys, bird migrations, deer, and moose. In the middle of summer, there is often very few boats on the lake. In the winter we ski Schweitzer Mountain or cross country ski and snow shoe right on the lake itself! The town has great restaurants and a lot of artists live here. Every time we're here, we make memories, restore our spirits and enjoy life.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
Lake Pend Oreille is huge! The Point is FLAT, 3 miles from Sandpoint, faces south and offers 270 degree views East to Montana, South to Sandpoint and West to Schweitzer Mountain. The home is designed to blend in with the natural surroundings, yet offer incredible luxury and views. There are some places where the home is special and others where the property is unique or the surroundings are spectacular. At the Point at Sandpoint you get the best of all worlds.
