Amazing Lake House - Fun and Relaxing Stay

We spent President's Day Weekend at this stunning home on Ponder Point with 5 couples, and couldn't have asked of a more fun or relaxing weekend. The owner Kellee was extremely flexible and helpful when coordinating our visit, which is nice when traveling from out of town. We enjoyed skiing at Schweitzer, just a short drive away, but the best part was enjoying the company of friends in such a wonderful home on the lake. The house itself is unbelievable, with breathtaking views of Lake Ponderay. The house is very comfortable even for large groups. All of the rooms have gorgeous lake views. You won't believe the kitchen and living area. Just amazing. Loved the yard with plenty of space for the dogs to explore (safely) while we relaxed in the (clean and well kept - very important!) hot tub. My favorite room in the house might be the master bathroom. You won't want to leave this dream home. 3 nights was not enough. We can't wait to come back to enjoy the house in the summer!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Our stay at The Point was fantastic! It was a time to bring two families together (my family and my son's fiance and her family) to get to know each other. Much time was spent in the beautiful kitchen preparing meals together. Great family discussions were enjoyed while sitting around the fireplace in the great room. Every day we looked forward to watching eagles, swans, geese, and other waterfowl from the large great room windows. Every part of our stay at The Point was even better than we anticipated. It was the perfect setting for making many great family memories. Look forward to staying there again in the future!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Our family stayed at the The Point for 10 days in August and had a great time at this property. We love being right on the water and this property delivered on that in a big way. Our kids learned to wakeboard and waterski this year and enjoyed hours of exploring. Bocce ball, tag football, badminton, hide and seek, you name it, the kids played it. Sandpoint is a great little town and we were happy to visit for the first time. If we had to choose a favorite part of the house, it would be the great room overlooking the lake. All-in-all this is a 5 star location.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with young children.

Our second year at The Point! Words just cannot describe this location and home. I'm not kidding when I say that our family's BEST memories were made at Lake Pend O'Reille. We have traveled to many wonderful destinations, but our hearts just keep coming back to the lake. Thank you Kellee for your willingness to share something obviously so special to your family. We can't wait to come back next year! Until then we will be counting down the days.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Wow, this place is beyond amazing! We had such a wonderful weekend at the point. The house is breathtaking. Not to mention there is a view from every room. We spent many hours in the gourmet kitchen. They have everything you can imagine. We loved to gather around the fireplace, play jenga, visit, or just admire the amazing view in front of us. The hotub was another nice relaxing place we would spend sometime. We didn't have the greatest weather but it didn't matter. We had great friends, family and the amzing house. Kellee was wonderful to work with. They even had a portable bed and highchair for my son so less baby stuff to pack. We look forward to coming back to the point soon. Hopefully with better weather so we can spend sometime in the breezeway.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, people with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We have stayed at the Point on several occasions and each time it gets harder and harder to leave. The house is so beautifully appointed and designed. Everything is meticulously maintained. The great room and the breezeway are perfect spots for relaxing and watching the ever-changing lake in front of you. The property is very private and quiet. The owners go out of their way to make sure your stay is the best possible. They provide lots of suggestions for things to do in the area. The town of Sandpoint is amazing! So many great restaurants, shops, and really nice people. Truly a great find!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway.
Owner response: This lovely couple has stayed at The Point on 3 separate occassions, experiencing Fall colors changing and winter skiing at Schweitzer. They are so thoughtful and take such great care of The Point, that they epitomize the reasons why we make it available: to share the beauty of the home & Sandpoint area; to make dreams become memories. We look forward to their next stay.

We fell in love with this property. Everything from the sheets to the view was perfection. Immaculate property with every detail thought out to make your stay as comfortable as possible. The layout of the house was wonderful with older children. We loved the beautiful front room with a real fireplace and eagle watching. A true vacation property that allows you to escape and enjoy the people that you love. We plan to return!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

We had a great time at Point. It was a great location close to town. The place was clean, large and well laid out. It was a wonderful design for three families and a grandma. Great selection of kitchen gear, spices, good wifi, toys for kids, dock for boat and a plethora of great features. Amazing views of the lake, mountains and eagles. You will love it. Private and comfortable. Highly recommended and great service from the owners. We truly had a great experience.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.

This beautiful home has amazing views onto Lake Pend Oreille which can be viewed from three sides of the house, including the wonderful breezeway that has a wall that opens so you can appreciate the breeze while you are enjoying the sights. The sound of the waves are so relaxing, and you can see mountains across the lake that you family may want to hike. We were a family of five; however, as the owners advertise, up to twelve could comfortably fit into the spacious layout of the home. Sandpoint is a few miles away, and it is a friendly town with fabulous dining opportunites for lunch and dinner. Besides hiking, we enjoyed a seaplane tour of the area, a trip to a mountain resort offering many family activities, a dinner cruise, and a day on the beautiful, clean Lake Pend Oreille. The owners of Point on the Point were an excellent source for restaurants and activities in the area. It was a wonderful vacation for our family.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with teenagers, sightseeing.
Owner response: It was such fun to make recommendations to a family from the midwest who had never been to Sandpoint -- or even heard of Lake Pend Oreille -- before. They really made the most of their time here, took great care of The Point, and we'd love to have them return sometime. I always want to help guests make the most of their vacation and help them create memories that will last a lifetime.

Oh my goodness...I have NO idea how to even begin to convey our stay at The Point! Everything you would or could ever desire is there. The home is immaculate and gorgeously appointed. The kitchen is gourmet, there isn't one gadget lacking. The deck with BBQ is brilliant, nice and shady in the hot afternoon sun. The amphitheater steps were the perfect setup for our talent show. Beds are comfy, every room has a view. You can even work from the home is you absolutely have to (but I have NO idea why one would ever want to). The big entertainment room has a huge T.V. and the sound system is awesome. We spent hours on our own little beach and the older boys enjoyed fishing right of the private dock. My favorite spot? The entryway with the big open doors to the outside. My hubby's? The hot tub! Scenery is amazing, we saw Bald Eagles every morning we were there. You are right across the bay from Bottle Bay, the little restaurant there is yummy and it's a great place to gas up your water toys. Our stay was over the 4th of July and we fully expected the lake to be busy, but we felt we had it all to ourselves. Speaking of the 4th, The Point is the perfect place to watch the fireworks over at City Beach. Our children truly had the time of their lives, some wonderful memories were created for them at The Point. The owners...I just can't tell you how wonderful and concerned they were that we had a great time. The fact that they are willing to share their dream home says so much about their character. There was even fresh pie waiting for us! It was truly a blessing that we were able to share in something so special. I guarantee without reservation that you will fall in love with The Point. It was a dream come true for our family and we can't wait to come back!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

I have had the great pleasure of staying at the Point several times and I cannot wait to return. It is truly my most favorite place to be in this world. No matter what season or what the weather is like, the views are always spectacular. The home is cozy, comfortable and thoughtfully designed and decorated... all first rate furnishings and the hot tub is dreamy! Our family is already counting down the days to our next stay at the Point at Sandpoint and it can't come soon enough!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: It has been such a positive and wonderful experience to have this family stay with at The Point several times over the last couple of years. They have taken advantage of the secret amazing skiing of Schweitzer mountain in the winter and then come back in the summer to water ski on the 2 bays outside of the house. We look forward to the next time they return to Sandpoint and stay at The Point.

Better than France, better than our Florida vacations, better than Maine, better than all the others! We've been blessed with lots of vacation variety, but this was the most relaxing, beautiful vacation we've had. The house was even better than our wildest imagination, and the Lake Pend Oreille views were breath-taking. The pictures, though eye-popping, do not do justice to The Point. Kellee and Rob are terrific hosts...even had hot chocolate chip cookies there upon our arrival. They were so very gracious in sharing this fantastic get-away with our family. The people of Sandpoint made us welcome in their community warmly. The surrounding area is chock-full of activities for any interest. Thank you again, Kellee and Rob, for a relaxing, wonderful time in your home! The memories made in N. Idaho will be special to us the rest of our lives. This is one of those vacations we must repeat!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, people with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

This property, located on beautiful Lake Pend Oreille, in Sandpoint, Idaho is absolutely stunning! During the day, we enjoyed the incredible views of the lake and surrounding mountains; at night the lights of Sandpoint twinkled in the distance. Inside, the amenities were equally impressive with a full kitchen, formal and bar stool dining, two comfortable sitting rooms with expansive views, a large screen TV room, a great wood burning fireplace, beautifully appointed facilities, and comfortable sleeping accommodations for 12! Our time here was relaxing and peaceful as we sat on the wrap-around deck and listened to the waves lap onto the shoreline. There were hiking trails to explore, and while we were there in the off-season, the lake provides lots of possibilities for family fun in the summer, and skiing in the winter, with Schweitzer Mountain just minutes away. The proximity to Sandpoint makes it easy to enjoy the shops and local eating establishments of the quaint downtown area. We recommend Spuds and Trinity for local dining choices! What a great place for a family get together, a summer vacation or a winter ski excursion! Or make up any other reason to enjoy this unique property. You won't regret it! We can't wait to return to experience other times of the year!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway.

My family has the privilege to stay at this home. It is so beautiful and well maintained. The owners take obvious pride in their home. We have stayed in the winter time (great for skiing, sleigh rides and sledding) and then came back for some summer fun. The view from this home is outstanding and the wildlife you see at all seasons is incredible. Leaving is a hardship for us.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway.

How many other places on earth can you paddle to Sandpoint for a morning latte and return to bike back to Sandpoint for a late afternoon beer, and return to read an evening of books and soliture on the deck. If you want to listen to ducks feeding in the night all you need to do is leave a window open. Others may go on and on about the artwork and the accomadations, for me it was the variety of totally relaxing activities that are availible.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
