An almost perfect vacation. The house was in a good spot between Hanalei and Kee Beach. The beach within walking distance was a bit of a disappointment but we soon learned we would want to visit dozens of other beaches anyway and the house was perfectly located for that. The outside patio in the back was pleasant and right off the kitchen. We traveled all around the island, but nothing seemed as nice as the north shore.Recommended for: Families with young children

This property was everything as advertised - absolutely perfect for a family our size (5). Sleeping arrangements are perfect (some separation but not too far) and the inside decor was very warm and inviting. The kitchen was modern, yet very unique with the Hawaiian wood countertops. Beach access was quick and easy - very convenient considering the nightly rate. I would highly recommend this property to a small to medium size family that wants close proximity to the beach without the hustle and bustle of a resort type property.....it will be hard for me to go back to the resort setting after this stay. The only recommendation would be the installation of a dishwasher.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children.

Super place! Loved the feel and set up of the house ( especially the geckos :). The place was clean and had everything we needed. Neighborhood very laid back and the beach there is to die for; seemingly endless stretch of white sand with almost no other people. Excellent snorkeling too. We'd definately come back for an encore!Recommended for: Families with young children

We stayed here for 1 week with the kids. It was great! Lots of things to do in and around the area and great location for the rest of the island. The house was well stocked with everything including those things we didn't even knew we needed until we got there. We also will not stay in Hotel again. This was a great experience, thank-you again.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, people with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We stayed at the Beachcomber for 2 weeks. I must say after returning to the mainland and reflecting back on our vacation I will NEVER stay at a hotel on the island again. If you truly want to submerge yourself into the culture and island lifestyle this is your place. It was everything I had imagined and more. My son had a couple of local friends from Lihue come to visit us & they couldn't stop saying.. "Brah, this place is sick!!"(they are 19yrs old:))).. my point is that the place is very traditional and embracing of it's geographic location. We did have one or two little Kolohes i.e. geckos and such but hey, it's the island life! I hope to return soon. Our hosts were amazingly kind and helpful. Mahalo & Hau’oli Makahiki Hou. We LOVED the Beachcomber - you've thought of everything to make it easy. Kitchen fully equipped (with SHARP knives). new pots & pans, liquid soap at every sink, extra paper goods, ceiling fans, comfy furniture, etc. etc. etc. Literally 50 steps to the secluded beach with a great snorkeling reef. Two miles to Ke'e with phenomenal sunsets, 10 minutes to Hanalei. The hardwood kitchen counters were beautiful. The house was spotless when we arrived and everything worked - wi-fi too (it you just can't live without the Internet, even on vacation). We would definitely stay again.Recommended for: People with disabilities, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

My husband and I stayed here for one week for our honeymoon and it was fabulous! This would also be a perfect venue for a group as it has 3 bedrooms and 2 baths and is definitely set up for entertaining. The kitchen was fully loaded with utensils, cookware, and dinnerware and a gas stove. The back patio and dining table have plenty of room for 6 people. If you do bring a group bring or buy some beach towels as there are only 6 and they get used up quickly! There are also beach umbrellas, chairs, mats, and toys to bring to the beach just a five minute walk from the house. The beach was easy to find, close enough to run back to the house is you forgot something and was some of the best snorkeling we found on the island. The house is just around the corner from a great Mediterranean restaurant but about a 15 minute drive from all other establishments. Overall we really loved this home!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We enjoyed our stay at the bungalow. The house layout was nice, the woodwork was beautiful. The kitchen could use a few more pots, pans and dishes, but it had all the basics and had a good layout. The beach access is excellent, and the snorkeling near the house was quite good.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

We enjoyed our stay this week, after our emergency landing in Honolulu, and being stuck there for a day, it was very nice to arrive (finally!) at the bungalow - truly our home away from home. It was great to grill burgers and drink home made sweet tea on the back deck. Hanalei was a great town to spend some time in between day trips to the Na Pali coast, Waimea Canyon, Tunnels Beach, etc. The "barking" geckos kept us laughing. The books with Hawaiian history were informative and interesting. We made some great family memories - thank you!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

"What an amazing place you have created for friends, family & visitors to share. It made a great place for our 6 month old baby to take his first trip and first swim in the ocean. Thanks so much for the wonderful hospitality and letting us share your place in Eden. We will be back as soon as we can. Ben, Holly and Luca - Durango CO"Did you find this review helpful? "Mahalo! It was one of the best vacations we've had! The house feels like it comes from a fairy tale. The whole area is very relaxing and it heals the mind as well as the body. Long live the Beachcomber bungalow!! Olga & Vadim - Russia "Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

"Mahalo! Thank you for a fabulous stay at the Bungalow. It is a perfect location to relax, enjoy the beautiful beaches, lush green forests, and stunning views of the Na Pali coast. Despite much of our week on Kauai being rainy, stormy, and grey, the bungalow provided a perfect sanctuary away from the crowds and "hustle bustle" of everyday life and we truly had a lovely time. We can't wait to return!! Scott & Jessica Crawford Seattle WA"Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Loved staying at this fabulous house. The beautiful hardwoods and great layout made it most enjoyable for our family. We soon discovered the location was awesome. The north side is stunning with plenty to do between Princeville to Kee Beach and steps to snorkeling right here near the house. Time just flew by and it's hard to leave this beautiful place. Thanks for sharing your wonderful home.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

We loved staying here! The house has a wonderful feel to it, was very clean, comfortable and had all the amenities we needed, and the location was perfect for us....steps away to a fantastic beach (close enough to hear the waves) and great proximity to the best beaches on the north shore....really really great! After exploring much of what Kauai has to offer we came to the conclusion that had we more time, or were to return again, we would spend it closer to "home", ie the bungalow's beach and others close by, and the Na Pali coast, finding all we needed no further away than Hanalei. We had a most wonderful and memorable time and the accommodations were a significant part of the that in terms of providing us a great location and very clean and comfortable surroundings in which to relax and enjoy our time together.
